Hey so im planning on starting it rn and im kinda nervous bc of the cliffhanger the last book left off on. Is this a reread for you?

Just started part 2 (ch 10) and (view spoiler)[Peeta😭😭😭I hate that hes being tortured. I hate it! Its so horrible.

Also idk what to think at this point. Idk if either side is really the 'good' side, and i feel like theres just things that katniss doesnt know/thatre being hidden from her.

Also i feel so bad for gale. I just want katniss to love him. I mean, i love him and hes so good and kind and everything and idk why katniss doesnt/cant love him (hide spoiler)]

SAME peeta my everything doesn't deserve this it makes my heart break.
and im in the same dilemma?? who's fighting for whom, who's doing the "right thing"? is there even a good side??
as it stands right now i don't trust nobody lol.

i'm sorry but i don't really feel that bad for gale 😭 i kinda feel like he's pressuring katniss even more, she has enough to deal with already and i mean it's not like he doesn't know she likes peeta right? i mean yeah he has feelings that aren't returned so i get how that can be difficult but idk. i was always on team peeta so i'm probably biased hahah

Im on team gale lol and i just really love him and want them to be together but im also super conflicted bc i also like peeta and dont want anything bad to happen to either of them and i dont want either of their feelings to be hurt so i dont even know at this point. Sadly, i have a feeling that shes gonna end up with peeta bc shes already had so many chances with gale and i just cant see how that would happen which makes me so sad😭😭 Also what gale said about her only noticing him when hes in pain😭whyyy katniss

Ok, i just finished ch 11 (view spoiler)[and i finally give in. I can see it clearly now, shes in love with peeta. Ive been avoiding it and thinking/hoping she wasnt but she is. Its so obvious after this ch. And i do like peeta, i really do, so i guess im kinda slowly transitioning over to team peeta. I still love gale, but i think i have to let him go. Also of course he volunteered. Of course. I have the worst feeling hes gonna die saving peeta bc he loves katniss. Please dont let him die!! (hide spoiler)]

It sums up my main feelings about this book but i also have to add that (view spoiler)[im really surprised that either peeta or gale werent killed off. I was really expecting one of them to die (although i didnt want them to, obviously) but i was super glad that i was wrong about that. Although, what actually happened was almost worse. Bc gales right, katniss'll never be able to get over prims death fully, and now gale is associated as her potential murderer. Its not good no matter how you look at it, and that really sealed the deal for peeta. But oh my goodness the ending and epilogue was so beautiful and heartbreaking and beautiful. I love them together now. Theyre perfect. And she did need peeta to survive. She couldnt do it without him after all theyd been through together. So good!!! (hide spoiler)]

yes i agree it got very clear here but what really annoyed me was that she still kinda played with Gale's feelings. It was so obvious she had feelings for Peeta and not Gale so why not be honest to him and let him get over it?
this made me very mad, very annoying behavior of Katniss imo.

The ending of ch. 12 when Katniss was so happy to see him and then he tried to choke her MY HEART BROKE

same i'm sad that she associates Gale with prim's death :(( it's like something had to happen for her to decide with whom she wanted to be. I would have loved for Katniss to choose Peeta (because it was pretty clear she loved him) but then being able to still spend time with Gale :(

Yeah i agree! I mean, gale was her best friend, and he understood her so well and they would have been great as friends still
