Wade and the other gunters discover that James Halliday's avatar, Anorak, has become an independent AI. Anorak actually goes rogue and puts Wade, the others, and Ogden Morrow in mortal danger to get the Seven Shards. Could Anorak becoming independent be the cause of its rebellion, or is it because it contains Halliday's own feelings and memories?
