Vanessa (nesshawk) Aesop Fable Word Search - October 2021
Dates: 10/01/21 - 10/31/21

I have always loved Aesop. For these monthly challenges, we are going to hunt for both the creatures of the fable, as well as the morals of the story, leaving out all the wee words like the, and, you, of, for, etc. We will start with the most well-known, and then dive into those less familiar, including those that maybe are too dark for children’s reading!

The Town Mouse & The Country Mouse
Poverty with security is better than plenty in the midst of fear and uncertainty.
Better beans and bacon in peace than cakes and ale in fear.

The Ants & The Grasshopper
There's a time for work and a time for play.
That they who drink, sing, and dance in the summer, must starve in the winter.

The Crow & The Pitcher
In a pinch a good use of our wits may help us out.
Necessity is the mother of invention.

The Eagle & The Beetle
Even the weakest may find means to avenge a wrong.

******************************************************************
The Challenge: Below is a list of 38 words to find within the text of a book. For each word found, you will need to provide the book title, the page or location number, the sentence containing the word, and the date you finished reading your book.

- There is no limit to the number of words found per book. (No, you don’t have to read 38 books this month, although I know there are many of you who could!)
- No page minimum.
- Words must match exactly. No substitutions, please.
