The ball room was large and spacious, with gaping windows revealing the twilight sky above. On rectangular tables rested all the food you could ever wish for: from cheesecake to fruit and cheese. This was one of the nights where everyone could pretend the shattering of the alliance wasn’t on the brink, that the Feline Kingdom and the other kingdoms were all friends.
Anya stood near the front, eyeing each of the people suspiciously as they entered. She didn’t mind the wary glances she got in return, and simply wanted to make sure nothing shady was going to happen. Being early was key in finding spies. This year had been the height of the political climate and she didn’t want something to go wrong. This was Feline Kingdom territory, after all. Her outfit fit the scenery yet was also practical if there was a fight and her mask concealed her face quite well, so that if anyone who wasn’t well acquainted with her or her face wouldn’t immediately recognize Anya. (view spoiler)
Queen Petunia stopped at the front, attempting to show her invite for proof while the guard tried to tell her they recognized her and that she was fine. She had come with Rosemary and was absolutely giddy. She believed things were going well and that she could secure the alliance once more by coming to Red’s birthday party. Petunia scanned the room, doing dramatic turns to feel the fun swish of her gown. The style was very her and several heads turned to look at her in either admiration or hatred. “Oh, this is absolutely wonderful, Rosemary. I can’t wait to dance with you,” she exclaimed, practically dancing already as she made her way to where the food was. (view spoiler)
Annie quickly showed her invite to the guard and ran inside the ball room, having never seen such a thing before. Even Mara was quiet, seemingly enticed by the new surroundings. She had overheard her parents debating bringing her, saying something about how it could be dangerous. Eventually they agreed to bringing her, though, and oh boy was she happy! Annie felt so independent on her own, even though she had run from Pandora before she could be coddled. The princess hopped over to where the food was, not noticing the queen was there. If she had, she would have likely felt some shyness and backed away, but instead began to immediately gorge herself on the chocolate cookies. (view spoiler)
Celestine gracefully strode in, making it known her queenliness. The guard stepped back in an almost fearful manner, unsure of what to do in her boldness. She stood tall, peering at all of the attendees and attempting to spot any that’d be important. Well, that one was most definitely Queen Petunia. Who else would be decked from head to toe in pink? Another girl bore into her with a butterfly mask and Celestine simply stared back, finding it amusing that someone was trying to intimidate her. Many looked upon the queen with disdain, finding it rude for her to have dressed in such funeral attire, even adorning a veil. She was unsure if any of her children would be attending and hoped they’d avoid making a scene if they did. This was a formal event, one with more intentions than simply having ‘a birthday party’, or so she believed. Honestly, she felt the masks to be stupid. Most could be recognized anyways, so what secrecy did it really give? (view spoiler)
Jacques and Annette could barely hold in their giggles as they peeked through the windows.
“So this is the party we’re crashing?” Annette said in her typical monotone voice. A few invites had slipped in through one of their portals and they’d heard of the ball, deciding to give it a look.
Jacques turned to face Annette and said, “Yep, just observing stupid human stuff.” He didn’t really care that much for their affairs, but thought a party where you wore masks sounded silly, yet enticing. If you started killing, no one would know you had done anything. Easy crime.
Annette bit her lip, leaving it with a slight blush. “I just don’t want father to come. He definitely saw those invites, so who knows what he’s planning?” She had been thinking about this for a long time, but now felt more anxious about it. The two siblings tried to avoid that man if they could and this would certainly be an awkward confrontation. The masks wouldn’t hide their identity, especially given their classic Aamon attire and matching black masks.
He shook his head, casually saying, “It’ll be fine, Annette. You’ve been raised to worry, but we can do whatever we want. If we see him, we just go. Easy.” His sister didn’t look convinced, but didn’t say any more. There wasn’t any arguing at this point. (view spoiler)
Delroy strode through the front, waving his invitation at the guard without pausing, arm linked with Cadogan’s. “I told you, it’s quite easy to navigate the mortal realm. They’re simple,” they said with a hint of mischief in their tone. He’d seen a few invites slip through one of their many portals, this one specifically leading to the Feline Palace. It had many tunnels and hiding spots, making travel easy when he needed to steal something or gain information. Seeing the invitation had led to them asking Cado out on a little date. Suddenly, Delroy spun to face Cado. “Now, you shall see what it’s like to mingle with mortals,” they said, and their red eyes began to sparkle. His mask disguised most of his face, though not the eyes. Still, the joker mask was forever turned in a mocking grin. Befitting for someone like him, if we were being honest. (view spoiler)
Bedelia stood with Hestia near the entrance, feeling quite anxious. “So, you mean to tell me we’re going here to kill people? Just for that purpose? I know you’ve told me this a bunch, but I still just can’t rationalize it. What if we get caught? Aren’t there a bunch of guards here? There are so many armed people, what will we do?” she said rapidly, all in a few seconds. She loved her sister, but this was one of the more dangerous things they had ever done. It was truly something they could go to jail for. No, something they could be beheaded for. Bedelia felt confident when she was on her ship with all of her crewmates, but here? This was the Feline Palace. This was land matters, alliance matters. Bedelia really didn’t want to be a part of this, but had begrudgingly agreed simply because Hestia wanted to. Now she was having second thoughts. Well, she thought, at least her dress was pretty. Hestia had taken the time to take them to town, not just to a cheap flea market. Bedelia had found the dress of her dreams and a mask to go with it. Too bad there might be blood stains on it by the end of this. (view spoiler)

Hestia felt stupid, considering how flashy of a mask she was wearing, it had a large hat type thing, made to look like a pirate hat, although it still covered her eyes, which she considered enough to get away with murder while still being recognizable to those who had heard the tales of her. She managed to sneak a few knives in with her, although she knew she only need to have one, even if she wanted to keep it clean she could just lick the blood off. She’d straighten her suit, which she picked out, even though Bedelia gave her a really pretty dress, she preferred suits much more than dresses.
Upon Bedelia mentioning her plan she’d respond, “I won’t be killing anybody of importance and if you really want it I’m fine not murdering anybody.” She would be disappointed if Bedelia said she didn’t want to murder anybody, although she’d be okay with it, considering Bedelia never got to have anything like this as a child. She felt slightly nostalgic for a place like this, it reminded her of her old high school, she attended a school dance that was masquerade-themed once and she had to do extra jobs, without her parents knowing, to get her dress, but it was quickly ruined by her being careless, as well as getting slightly drunk.
“Actually, have fun, you deserve it,” she’d pause, “I promise I won’t kill anybody.” She was slightly disappointed to not kill, although she knew it was for Bedelia since it’d be to make up for Bedelia’s awful childhood. “You can have my knives if you don’t trust me,” She usually felt the need to prove herself when she made promises, which often led to her doing things that would show she isn’t doing that.

Pandora wasn’t shocked by Annie running off, although she’d likely need to find her soon. First, she’ll get a drink, just to cool off from the anxiety of waiting in a line then she’ll find Annie. She promised the servants on her way out that she wouldn’t drink too much, to avoid losing Annie in the crowd of people. When she eventually found the drink station she’d pour herself a large serving of something, she wasn’t really sure what it was but it smelled alcoholic, so it was good enough. Her mask, which was a slight gradient between yellow and orange, was slightly falling, so she adjusted it. She always liked masquerade balls, but she didn’t understand the point of the masks, they barely hid anything, you could still tell who people were. She’d mess with her dress, which was a knee-length lavender dress which she’d worn to multiple other balls, but she wanted to get food first, so it could wait.
“Oh, hey Annie, there you are,” She’d reach around, trying to grab beignets and a piece of garlic bread. “Don’t run off without telling me where you’re going next time. Okay?” She didn’t want to lose Annie because the sheer amount of people here would make it almost impossible to find a child. “Also, you should really try these beignets, they’re super good,” She’d say while offering one to Annie, with a slight smile. She’d sip on her drink, which was much less bitter than she had thought it’d be, it actually had a slight sweet aftertaste, but that could just be the beignets. Pandora looked around at the pastries, trying one she had never had before.

Aurelia stared at the room in amazement. It's not like she hasn't seen the ballroom before, in fact, she even helped set up the room. It just looked so much different when everyone was inside dancing. Aurelia sighed, wondering if she'd get to dance with Red tonight, even though Aurelia knew she'd have to carry the queen back to her bedchamber, as Red would definitely be drunk by the end of the night. Aurelia patted her hair to make sure it still looked good, and let out a sigh of relief when she felt that the curls in her hair were still intact. Turning to Red, Aurelia spoke. "It looks beautiful in here!" Aurelia said, her voice warm and calming. "You look beautiful..." Aurelia added, staring at Red's outfit and hair. Aurelia twirled around and looked at her dress. Aurelia then stopped and pressed her hands to the side of her head. "I'm dizzy now..." she said sadly. (view spoiler)

Rosemary was excited. She hadn't been to many fancy occasions, that was usually something she usually let Petunia do while Rosemary handled more of the military planning and financial meetings. It was wonderful to have a break and go to this with Petunia. Rosemary loved picking out her outfit, even if she couldn't see what colour it was. She knew Petunia's outfit was most likely pink, as that was Petunia's favourite colour. After Petunia spoke, Rosemary smiled. "Of course! It's been forever since I've been to something like this, I'd love to dance." Rosemary said with a smile. Laughing, she followed Petunia to the food table. (view spoiler)

Pasithea sighed, wishing that Arshi were here by her side. Pasithea was never a social person, however, she did like experimenting on people. That's why she was clutching a purse with a bunch of syringes and bottles inside of it. Smiling, Pasithea waved her invitation at the guard before entering. Looking around, it was simple enough to pick out the vulnerable people. Possibly the woman in the pink dress dancing around by the food table? Or could it be the woman with white hair standing nearby the Feline Queen? No no, that'd be too risky. The white-haired girl is safe, for now. Sighing, Pasithea wandered around, looking for something interesting to do. (view spoiler)

Anastasia entered the room, decked head to toe in the colours black and red. She grinned, an evil look on her face. She could see her mother not too far in front of her. How annoying, I hope she hasn’t seen me yet. Anastasia thought. She pressed her hands to her sides, making sure that she still had a dagger inside of her thigh belt. Anastasia exhaled a sigh of relief, happy that she still had a way to ruin this stupid ball. Maybe something tragic happening, possibly a… death, would cause Satan to come to her. Wrath was one of the seven sins, and it was the one she committed herself to the most. It was the easiest one to do, most likely sloth and lust right behind it. In fact, one could say that she could also be recognized for lust, as she would usually seduce her victims before finally killing them. Exhaling, Anastasia began to wander around, attempting to recognize someone. (view spoiler)

Azure had only come to this ball for one reason. The queen was probably rich. After showing the guards her invitation, Azure entered and immediately began looking for things to steal. Small things, obviously, however, she needed to make sure the things were valuable. Azure began hiding things in the blue and gold purse she had brought along with her. She managed to snatch a watch from one of the guests and a small ceramic jewelry box from a table. She then went over to the food table to see if there was anything valuable there, maybe some caviar? Azure bumped into a woman with a black dress and veil on the way there and paused. The lady was intimidating, but Azure wasn’t scared. “I’m sorry.” Azure said calmly, trying to see if the woman was wearing anything valuable. I’ll be so popular at the pawn shop for this haul! Cadogan looked at Delroy through the eye holes in Delroy’s mask. “This is the mortal realm?” Cado asked, looking around. “Not what I was expecting…” they said, looking around. Cadogan was thrilled when Delroy asked him out. Going somewhere new excited them, especially if Delroy was there with him. After Delroy spoke for a second time, Cadogan smiled. “Are they as stupid as I’ve heard? Or is that just a lie that was spread around the bar?” he asked. Cadogan was trying to maintain their calm personality, but with his arm linked with Delroy’s, it was hard not to turn into a blushing and stuttering mess. (view spoiler)

Euphrasia had never really been outside the palace before, and definitely never left her kingdom. It was interesting to see the Feline Palace. The architecture made Euphrasia gasp. She had decided to leave her hair down, and it kept brushing against her thighs. Smiling, she wondered if Zephyrus was coming. They had discussed it, however, she never really got an exact answer. That was fine though, Euphrasia could find something fun to do on her own. Walking around, she smiled and said a formal hello to everyone. She watched the other guests, observing their moves and trying to identify them. It was fun to watch people, even if some people said it was stalker-ish.(view spoiler)

Bouncing towards the palace, Astrophel smiled. He had only been to the mortal realm once before, but loved his time there. He had seen an invitation lying on the street one day on his way to work and decided to pick it up. Astro was positive he wouldn’t regret coming though, as he had bought a new dress and a matching mask for this occasion, so he definitely was going to make sure he had a good time. Astro walked over to one of the guards and showed them his invitation. After being allowed in, Astrophel looked around the room. Well, room was an understatement. It definitely wasn’t a room, but more so a… chamber? Either way, Astro was in amazement. The ballroom itself was bigger than the houses he went to for his job. Smiling, he wandered towards the food table, wondering if there were cakes made out of gold. (view spoiler)

Being trailed by Aurelia was no surprise, but this time Red could tell that she was hoping for something more than just idle chat. Red on the other hand, was already drunk and probably out of her head. She was in black from head to toe, a feline mask placed over her features and servicing her a mysterious aura. The heels added a few inches of extra height, and her mane of blood red hair was slicked back out of her face for once. You almost forgot that she had eyebrows when it wasn’t.
Red turns, internally saying ‘fuck it’ and offering a hand to Aurelia.
“Do you wanna dance with me? This is a masquerade and if I don’t do something I will drink myself to death.”
Very romantic, Your Highness. She’d always been disturbingly blunt, but this was a new record. She hated everything about this ball, especially the way that her council plastered her name on the invitations as if she hadn’t tried to do everything in her power to not do this.

Jace
———
This was boring. Incredibly boring. Sure, the feline palace was beautiful, and yes, watching people trip over their own feet was hilarious because they all hadn’t thought of dancing when they were shoving alcohol down their throats like wild animals. But still. He had a job to do here, and dancing and laughing with others at jokes that weren’t even funny was not in his job description. Raise hell. That’s what he was here to do. He was here to put so much pressure on the Queen that she couldn’t bear it anymore. And eventually, she’d die from it. No harm done physically by him or his comrades, just her own self hatred and blame. It was a flawless plan, but the only thing that wasn’t flawless was that the organization didn’t quite fly with personal vendettas. Which was something Jace didn’t understand. Wasn’t this entire plan a personal vendetta? We could raise hell anywhere else with the same effect, but we’ve targeted the one night where the royals will have their guard down. Interesting.

Rowan
———
This dress was suffocating. It hugged her ribs and forced all the air out of them, and the skirt was fluffy and big enough to trip over. Which she’d almost done multiple times. She had half a mind to rip the dress apart. But her stylists wouldn’t like that, and Rowan couldn’t be bothered with feeble issues like a wardrobe malfunction at the moment. She was tired. Of the loud noise, the music, and specifically the way the former queen of her kingdom paid her no mind. Her mother was dancing and talking and laughing with everyone, just making a spectacle of herself at the expense of being remembered. It gave Rowan a headache. Yes, she’d had many complaints about how she wasn’t appealing to the people by hosting galas every weekend, or how she wasn’t doing everything except running a kingdom. But Rowan had tuned it out. She was going to run her kingdom however she saw fit, and however she needed to to make sure it flourished and never fell.
Hiding in the corner was a good decision she’d made, because she’d barely been noticed by anyone as long as she’d been sitting here. Her hair fell over her shoulders in long, stupidly thick waves, since her stylists had insisted on her leaving it long for this VERY special night.
“Special my ass.” Rowan grumbled aloud.

Mikael Ivanov guarded the large and extravantly decorated ballroom from beside the main doors, his eyes following his Queen, unable to look away from her for more than even a few seconds, his gaze always finding its way back to her. He wore his metal and leather guard uniform and wished that he could’ve been one of the handsome nobles asking their favored ladies and lads to dance, having fun instead of slowly but surely tiring out and pining after a hopeless romance. He ran a subtly scarred hand through his dirty blond curls and watched as his Queen offered a dance to the woman behind her and shot down his envy immediately, brightening the smile on his face and forcing himself to turn his attention to a young woman hiding in the corner of the wide hall, evidently not wanting to be here at all. He turned to her and offered her a kind wave in greeting, determined to not ruin the whole night for himself, and maybe make it better for someone else as well.
“Hello there, are you doing alright?” He asked politely, hoping to make her feel better.
“I understand that it’s most likely a less than pleasant night for you, but the hors d'oeuvres are delicious if you’d want to give them a try?”

>>Belladonna<<
They absolutely hated functions like this. Where they had to pretend that it wasn’t a miserably boring experience to talk to all of these nobles and royals without at least poisoning ten of them. It was a quite unappealing thing to experience every time something dreadfully mundane happened to each and every “Royal” person when the parties back home were so much more entertaining. The blood-curdling screams and bright smiles covering horrified tears just really hit the spot.
Nevertheless, Bel's smile was bright and kind, a perfect imitation of an angel coming down to Earth to grace the poor and mundane humans who adorably had no idea that they were coming down to destroy them, not help them. It was almost enough to make someone feel bad. Someone far less sadistic than the ruler of the Arachnid Kingdom of course.
They had chosen to enter the ball in their male form, wearing a long and flowing pale rose dress made of silk and lace that exquisitely showed off their muscles and curvy but lean figure, their long and quartz-like eight spider arms sticking out from their back like parts of a statue carved by a marble-worker. Their two more human-like appendages were delicately clasped in front of their abdomen, waving elegantly to the miserable nobles and royals who looked at them like they were no one to be afraid of, like they could do no wrong.
Just how Bel liked it.
Their long and soft white hair was tied back in a French braid woven through with silver silk ribbons and rested on their left shoulder. Even braided and set over their shoulder, it reached their waist, swaying softly as they glided on the floor, making their rounds and pretending to be deeply engrossed in each and every terribly boring person they spoke to, making note of whatever weaknesses they had picked up on.
Bel had thought about killing at least 13 people here multiple times, but reminded themself of the plan to at least temporarily satiate their thirst for blood. You don't want to mess this up just yet, don't you? It would be an absolute shame if all that planning was to go to waste.

༓Beowulf༓

While some guests may possibly be a little uncomfortable in this place considering a war was going on, and the feline kingdom was the root of the problem, Beowulf was very comfortable and at ease. He'd used to run the hallways of this palace when he was younger, as his father was a general as well as a high ranked man of the feline kingdom, and his mother a spy; even though she was a wolf. His white ears flicked listening to the many jumbled voices in the ballroom, he stepped up the the door way where the guards stood taking invitations, he lifted his mask slightly and they let him through. The white wolf-cat hybrid was trusted in the feline kingdom and therefore didn't need to show identification, it gave him a sense of power which he enjoyed feeling. While this palace was full of people that were normally at war with one another, it was a nigh after-all of peace and friendly chatter. (view spoiler) Beowulf saw a familiar set of white ears and long thin white tail, he walked up towards the man, who wore a mask over his face like everyone else. Even so it was clear he was of high statues in the feline kingdom with many medals and ribbons on his vest which he wore, and under the mask one blue and one yellow eye stared back at Beowulf. His stern expression softened only slightly and a smile played on his lips,
"Hello, my son, good to see you," he said,
"Good to see you too, Sir," Beowulf replied,
"No need for formalities," Aragon Otaktay told his son.

༓ Davorin ༓

"What a lovely evening," Davorin Sanguine claimed with a laugh.
On either side of him was his younger siblings, the three of them in total were triplets, but he was the oldest. Not to mention possibly the most unstable and dangerous, but it depended on his mood and those of Dimitri and Denisa, both who were equally dangerous as himself. Like many at this party they didn't come to socialize, and act as if they were perfect, they had come purely for the entertainment and chaos that they could cause. Not the mention the pockets they could pick, Davorin had already stolen the watch of a young man of who had a brushed shoulders with, then given the watch to Dimitri to wear.
"I think this will be an interesting event," "Don't you?" Davorin asked his sister, who's dead expression looked back at him,
"Yes, many ways this could go wrong," Denisa commented, agreeing with her elder brother.
(view spoiler)

༓ Dimitri ༓

Tugging at the collar of his shirt, the fabric was red silk, but he was feeling like it was getting tighter around his neck. This entire ordeal was causing him to panic, to many people, the space was to crammed, the air was heavy, and in general it was all to much for him. He felt a hand on his shoulder and looked over to his right, staring at him with black eyes was Denisa; he always found her blank expression calming and quickly relaxed,
"Thank you," he whispered to her,
"Of course," Denisa removed her hand and looked at Davorin.
Dimitri was a little interested with this ball, like Davorin and his sister he saw that this could all easily go down hill and turn into chaos. Perhaps that was the felines' plan, with all these royals here a quick and easy killing would get rid of many of the politically powers leaving the felines to take control of the kingdoms.
"It's all to perfect," he mumbled to himself.
(view spoiler)

༓ Denisa ༓

This had all been Davorin's idea, she and Dimitri hadn't given much in put other then the fact that it would be as their elder brother had stated 'interesting' so they had agreed. It happened often that the eldest of them made the choices, and Dimitri gave his opinion once in a while, but Denisa... she often let everything be decided then do the details herself later on. After all she was the one to get them invitations in the first place, without her they wouldn't even had gotten close to the front door. She looked around, her long dress flowing around her, it was black to match with her brothers suits; which happened to be black and red.
"What should we do?" she asked her brothers, mostly to Davorin,
"Well lets walk around and see who we are dealing with," he replied.
Denisa nodded, she walked with her brothers standing to the right of Davorin and Dimitri on Davorin's left.

༓ Selah ༓

Selah followed Belladonna, she could already sense that her superior wasn't happy with this function and event. She kept her head down and followed quietly the jewels embedded into her skin caught any light they could, and her white scales only helped them. For a servant she was quite stunning, her long anaconda tail moving behind her, as she followed the spider-hybrid. The lower have of her face was covered with a veil rather then a mask that covered the eyes like many of the guests at this event. Bumping into someone she quickly pulled her tail closer,
"Sorry," she apologized quickly and hurried after Belladonna.

Darwin Humminbird sighed.
He could not believe the nerve of his captains! How dare they say that his fancy kimono wasn't fancy at all! And truth be told, he disliked dances--or any type of party for that matter. If his captains were going to make him act like security, Humminbird would've at least wore something comfortable AND fasionable. But nooo, Humminbird thought bitterly as he put on his tie with a sick smile on his face.
Humminbird checked himself in the mirror. Grey vest, black tie, a white collared shirt with golden buttons...he did admit it secretly that he was rather good looking enough--HOWEVER, he thought again, this outfit is uncomfortable! My pants are too tight! It's almost like my ''dagger'' is being suffocated!
The cheerful man finished his tie, looked at himself once more, and headed into the ball room...

Anya stiffened when she saw Beowulf, spine straightening like a blade. She knew he'd be attending, though it didn't shake the suspicion that arose. Her eyes remained trained on him as he talked up someone who appeared very much like a Feline Kingdom official to her. Now that she compared the two, they were actually quite similar. Wait. Her confused stare suddenly morphed into a death stare. So this was his father. That traitor. Anya couldn't hear the conversation going between the two given the noise around her, yet she could tell they were far too comfortable around each other to be simply exchanging a simple greeting. It took everything in her power not to rush over and kill him right then and there. Instead, Anya breathed in and elegantly strode towards them, acting as if she was just happening to go in their direction. Once she was near, her eyes brightened. "Oh, Beowulf! I didn't notice you were hear already. How have you been doing?" she said and smiled kindly. She wouldn't have kept up the front if she weren't in this public area and in front of, presumably, his father.
Petunia felt like twirling. Tonight was a magical night! "I wish Red's birthday was every day. That would mean more chances to strengthen our bond and more lovely dances!" she said as she dug into a slice of cheesecake. "I wonder who makes the food! It tastes unlike anything I've ever had." Petunia would definitely find the chef later and just absolutely praise them, likely giving them one of the rings on her fingers. She wasn't hard to please, but the food really was good. She did not notice Pasithea's calculating gaze in her direction and went on blissfully unaware. There were many in this room who would target her, yet she had not even considered that when accepting the invitation to the ball.
Annie saw her sister Pandora and smiled guiltily, hiding a few cookies behind her dress before anyone could accuse her of eating too much. "Okie! I promise," she exclaimed, crossing her fingers behind her back. At the offer of free food, she swiftly grabbed the beignet and ate it right up. "Thank you! This place is sooo cool! But there's only boring adults and old kids here," she said and made a dramatic frown, crossing her arms. At least Pandora was here to keep her company. She felt Mara's cold, dead presence all of a sudden, her icy breath fogging her mind. You always have me. Anna flinched, though pretended it was just something in her eye. "There's a lot of pollen here! Jeez!" Annie said, swatting at the air. Her fib didn't make sense since it was literally winter, though maybe Pandora wouldn't notice. Most people didn't ask that many questions when she did this odd stuff and always chalked it up to her being a weird kid. "Are you gonna dance with me or dance with someone you have a crush on?" Annie suddenly asked, mouth quirked in a malicious grin. She would totally tattle tail if Pandora had a crush on some royal. She'd never say it to her parents or anyone, but maybe just some of her imaginary friends. Secretly, though, Annie wanted to dance with her big sis. With so many people always in the palace, at times she was forgotten and wanted to do things that the big kids did.
Celestine, of course, quickly noticed her daughter and could easily watch her without Anastasia thinking she'd seen her. The woman was skilled in this aspect, being quite sneaky and intelligent. If she ever did any funny business, she'd march right over and give her a talking to. The woman would not play nice if one of her children made of fool out of themselves in a public area such as this. It was important to network, not to fool around. Celestine busied herself with talking to a group of rich Felines, slowly egging out gossip and information she could use later. She was bumped into by some girl in blue and immediately her eyes turned to a death glare. What a nuisance. Celestine was wearing a black ring with a big gem on it and, of course, the red pendant carrying her ex husband's soul. She could never bear to part with it, could never live knowing he may or may not be safe. She needed to know he was suffering. "You should be grovelling at my feet for daring to shove the Bloody Queen," she said plainly, face shadowed by her mysterious veil.
The siblings had snuck into the party now, glancing around nervously in case they saw . . . oh no. Jacques stiffened and Annette saw him next, eyes narrowing. Their father, Delroy, was here. But with . . . another man?
"Well, that proves my suspicions," Annette stated, remaining put. Jacques, on the other hand, was edging closer to the where the most people were, hoping to disappear.
"Come on, Annette. Let's just try to avoid him and cause mayhem more subtly," he whispered. Annette shrugged and follow her younger brother, feeling that her father would see him anyhow.
When they were in the crowd of people, they noticed this was where all the food was. They got some odd stares, people doing double takes. Their horns made them look like goats or rams or something of the sort, though their red eyes were uncommon. A mask couldn't hide that aspect. The two ignored the odd looks, though Annette locked eyes on a small girl with purple hair.
"Hm, Mara. So you're bullying little girls now? That was always your forte," she said, talking to the girl as if she had met her before. There was another girl next to her who seemed to know the girl herself, not Mara.
"We don't know how much power she has, you could just be talking to the host," Jacques added, grabbing Annette by the arm in an attempt to lead her away. She remained put, no matter how much he urged her. She hadn't seen Mara in a while, not after she had gone to the mortal realm. It was likely she had been cursed, though now it was odd to see her trapped in such a small body. Annie's expression seemed torn between speaking and from cowering in fear, like two people we fighting for control in her head.
Delroy did notice his children, though chose to ignore them for now. There wasn't a point in confronting them, as long as they weren't doing anything he'd be upset for. Now was a night of fun, and he planned on keeping it that way.
"Cardigan, as if you didn't already know. You can tell by how they act," he said. Mortals were so stupidly confident, or un-confident. Always too much or too little of one thing. He paused for a moment, thinking. "They can be quite stupid. Take this little dance for instance. They have many kingdoms, and they don't happen to be on great terms, yet they're all here in one room without protection! If this were any old dance, I would have skipped it, yet I believe it'll be absolutely hilarious to see what occurs," he said. He'd seen his fair share of normal human things, yet he knew that this would be one of the best shows yet. "I would show you what human food tastes like, although my children are currently hiding from me there."
She shook her head at Hestia. "You know I'm not going to stop you. I'm just panicking and I don't want you to go too crazy. Please, just don't kill anyone important," Bedelia said, holding her sister's hands. Hestia deserved it, especially since they hadn't been able to kill Aerwyna. Bedelia was okay with this, as long as Hestia didn't go berserk like when they were at sea. Maybe she'd get to dance with someone! Oh, how she'd love that! When they had entered the ballroom, she examined all the lovely people there. It was hard to gauge attractiveness by the masks, though it only increased the allure of the room. She didn't plan on killing anyone and instead wanted Hestia to get all the kills, but would instead be reimagining what her life could have been. By no means did she dislike her pirate life, though it would be nice to be a silly noble girl.

Hestia’s eyes lit up, “Thank you Bedelia! I love you and I promise I’ll only kill commoners or royal knights.” She felt so glad to be able to kill freely, especially since it had been a while because of that stupid fish. It seemed that she was squeezing Bedelia, more than it being a hug. “And I won’t kill your date, or whoever you manage to pick out of the crowd,” it felt fun to tease her. “But first, I am going to get a drink, would you like anything?” She’d ask, not wanting to be rude towards her sister since she just let her kill in a place with so many people. She knew she shouldn’t drink too much to avoid her getting sloppy with her killings, but it couldn’t hurt to just get a good bit tipsy to clear her head of thoughts of how sloppy she was, letting Aerwyna get away, but she was caught off-guard by Bedelia getting mad, so it was excusable. Maybe she’d obviously kill someone at the drink station and put their blood in the punch, that’d be super fun and would drill in that they should be scared. She thought about getting somebody to announce that she was here to cause more fear since she was the best pirate and was known for not being merciful, but in the end she’d kill the person. She felt this was a good idea and decided to go look for someone who would easily succumb to simple threats, but maybe if it was a person of power she wouldn’t kill them, just scare them.

“Yeah I could understand this being boring,” She personally wasn’t really bored since her mind just felt foggy from the alcohol. She was slightly confused by the pollen comment, “Are you sure it isn’t dust or something? It’s the middle of winter.” Pandora didn’t really think much of Annie saying that there was pollen in here, likely just making a silly mistake. She was debating whether or not to tell Annie that she had a crush on one of the servants but eventually caved and decided to tell her, “You have to promise not to tell mom,” after Annie promised she continued, “Well, I don’t have a crush on anybody here,” she’d pause for a dramatic flair, “But I do have a crush on one of the servants.” She’d then decide to acknowledge Annie partially asking her to dance with her, “Also, of course, I’ll dance with you, that sounds fun as hell.” She’d laugh a bit after saying that, although it wasn’t at all funny. “Don’t say hell in front of our parents, you might get in trouble, but you can say it in front of me sometimes,” she never viewed light swearing as bad, as long as you didn’t do it in front of people who get easily upset by that. She'd giggle a bit, "Her name isn't Mara, idiots. She's Annie." She didn't hear much of the other words, but she did hear host. Was this Mara thing some sort of weird parasite?

cosette. (pxssyliquor) | 813 comments Red was quite quickly distracted by a certain head of dirty blonde hair, and she tried to seem cool as she rushed over to him.
“Mika! It’s er.. really nice to see you. Here. At the ball. You look.. good. Really. I mean it.” She stumbled over her own words, probably making a fool out of herself but she didn’t seem to care at the moment. Except for the fact that her cheeks were bright red and she was looking at her hands the entire time she spoke. Everyone around her was dazzling, and near them, especially near Mika, she looked.. mediocre. Red had always been insecure though. So she tried to block it out. She liked Mika. A lot.

Rowan scowled up at the Feline Queen, getting to her feet. Unfortunately, she didn’t seem to stand as tall as Her Majesty. She balled her fists and furrowed her brow, putting on the meanest look she could give.
“Fancy seeing you here, Your Highness.”
Red looks confused, cocking her head to the side and raising an eyebrow. When she spoke, it was one of the few times that her words weren’t laced with malice.
“Well.. this is my palace. I live here, more or less.” She cleared her throat, crossing her arms loosely. Rowan just rolled her eyes, apparently not having time for this because she needed to sulk elsewhere. She stomped off, hair trailing behind her. Which only infuriated her more. Thankfully, kitchen scissors weren’t anywhere nearby.

༓Beowulf༓

It was all friendly and calm conversation between father and son, the two of them like Anya had noticed were very similar, only a few things kept Beowulf from looking to much like a feline. His ears and tail were more like his mother, and those were enough to keep suspicions down and away from the truth. Of course he had gotten rid of those people who started rumors about him, in the recent days, since people in the canine palace had started to discuss more about him personally.
"How has the canine kingdom, being treating you?" Aargon asked,
"Well, just a few complications, but nothing serious and that I couldn't handle," he replied,
"Good, good," "Now about this person of interest," he sighed, putting a hand on Beowulf's shoulder to guide him away, "I heard that our messenger was intercepted," he hissed into his sons ear.
"Yes, and you dealt with it accordingly?" Beowulf asked,
"Of course we did," he scoffed, "Just a little threatening to her family, and she told us everything, and from now on we may get her family to live with us," he began, "Ensuring her loyalty to us," he finished.
The two looked over their shoulder at Anya, Aargon's expression wasn't visible because of the mask, but he knew who she was; the one who knew.
"Lady Anya," Beowulf bowed respectfully, Aargon gave a respectful bow as well, even though he was technically of higher status.

༓ Davorin ༓

Davorin walked around he was enjoying himself, they never when to these big events, or to events at all; at least the ones that involved the queen of the bat kingdom. To be honest he wasn't entirely sure if she was attending this one, so it could get more unexpected if she was in fact present. She didn't like vampire bats like Dimitri, Denisa and himself, a little rude much he thought to himself.
In reality it didn't really bug him, most people didn't like the Sanguine siblings as they were known for many crimes in other kingdoms, most people didn't know their first names or appearance so they were fine going to something like these where facial appearances wasn't needed.

༓ Dimitri ༓

Dimitri stood he was talking with a woman who had happened to come up to him, he was attracted to woman, yes. But this woman smell to much like perfume and it was overwhelming for him, not to mention this entire event. Normally Dimitri was a rather sarcastic, and relaxed, but that was when he was in his element or with Denisa and his brother. This was all putting him on edge,
"Excuse me for a moment, please," Dimitri ran off.
He found Denisa standing alone, normally he didn't notice her appearance, but this was one of those times where she really was quite stunning.

༓ Denisa ༓

Denisa watched the people in the room, she had moved herself to a side in the room where there happened to be less people, she found her paranoia calming down as she stood alone. Looking around her eyes searched for her brothers, she found Davorin wandering, he looked deep in thought and like he was enjoying this. Then to her amusement she found Dimirti trying to get away from a woman, she chuckled and wasn't surprised to see him come over to her.
"Having fun?" she asked,
"No, I hate this, how is he so relaxed," Dimitri jerked a thumb towards Davorin.

༓ Selah ༓

Selah slithered around, staying close to Bel but at a respectful distance so not to disturb them, while outside she looked like someone who was indifferent to her situation she was actually quite stressed. People, to many people, it wasn't normal. Belladonna's palace didn't have that many people just walking around, not to mention the parties were far more intense to put it lightly, this was strange and she was waiting for something to go wrong. Whether that be someone stabbed or just a horrible scream, anything, but nothing came. Maybe that was what worried her, the fact that everything was to perfect.

Humminbird swept through the dance floor, pleasantly smiling as if he was the happiest man here. Inside, although, he felt a sense of dread. A feeling of boredom, if you will. Jeez, is there ANYONE I know here? Anyone interesting to talk to? Both were the answer 'no', to his dismay. Say...where is Anya? Nora, her sister, said that she was a popular knight. Surely the fabled Anya would be around. And in fact...
Humminbird glanced around the room for any Canine Kingdom spies, for anyone that looked suspicious. Wait...that guy! He's following that woman! Could he be tailing her? Could the woman be Anya? Could--oh, wait...the man was going to the restroom. False alarm.
"How boring." Humminbird chuckled with a dark grin. I wonder what Nora was doing, he thought out of boredom.
He went to tables that had delicious foods and drinks, and it was there that he picked up a bottle of wine.
"Hey, you're underaged! You're not supposed to drink that!" An old nobleman yelled at Humminbird. Humminbird smiled politely and responded, "I am actually 22, my good man--even though I appear younger. Now, if you excuse me, I will get wasted." Humminbird uncorked the bottle and--bottoms up!! The nobleman cussed and stomped away huffing, leaving the cherry drinker to his lonesome. Humminbird chugged the bottle till it was half empty, and then he watched the rest of the guests do their thing.

Anya bowed dramatically and smiled, though wondered if Beowulf had told him of his suspicions. "A pleasure to meet you," she said and then straightened. "The two of you look so similar," she remarked. Anya gave a sly grin, though to an outsider she'd appear like she'd just made a joke of sorts. Even those familiar with her true colors would be caught off guard, wondering whether or not her words were intentionally placed or not.

((skipping petunia cus melpomene was busy))

Annie nodded vehemently. "Yes, dust. That's what I meant! You're so smart, Panda!" She called her panda because she was so nice and fluffy, but could be violent when she felt like it. She was so strong. The child made an Oooh noise at Pandora's remark. "I promise! And thank you!" Annie was so overjoyed and grateful to be here with her big sis. She said, "I won't say any no-no words. Maybe when I become bigger." When the siblings approached, she was struck in terror. Mara fought her way to the front, alongside Annie now. Her special day was being ruined. Suddenly, Mara took hold of her speech, seizing her larynx.
"Hello, I have partial control," she said in a monotone voice and with dull eyes, completely unlike her bubbly self. She made frantic motions with her hands, grasping at her neck and then violently returning back to her sides, her body moving as if in some sort of invisible struggle.
Annette barely glanced at the older wolf princess, finding it foolish to engage with any mortal if not for a prank. "Partial control? My, how the mighty have fallen," Jacques said with a smirk painted on his face. Annette kept her face neutral, though there was a slight twitch of her brow either in annoyance at her brother or disappointment at Mara's position. "Wouldn't you prefer to escape this body? You could at any time," she said, a bit of a puzzled expression on her face.
Mara could barely get out the word, but said, "Can't."
For a moment Celestine's gaze shifted to the crowd around her, away from the annoying pest who bumped into her. She almost reeled back in even more distaste when she saw some vampire bats. It was true, she didn't know the thieves faces, so she merely took stock of them, prepared to avoid them at all costs. This was becoming something not worth her time, if she were being honest. The queen would likely leave early.

((skipping Delroy because melpomene was busy))

Bedelia smiled back at her sister, so happy that she could do this with her. "Thank you. Hmmm, a margarita?" She wasn't sure if they'd have that, though they did seem to have a wide assortment of alcohol from where it was being served. It felt a bit awkward at times to be around her sister. The two could sense things about each other, could feel the thoughts they had. It seemed like Hestia thought about Aerwyna often, though she did as well. They hadn't spoke of the incident too much afterward, and she didn't want to. It might just push them apart. "Have fun!" she called after her sister, then turned to the crowd, red dress swishing like waves. If she couldn't find someone around her age, she'd likely just dance with her sister. That was a bond stronger than romantic love, something that couldn't be so easily torn. Aerwyna had proved that.

“Hell yeah, I’ll get you that and be back as quick as I can,” Hestia was debating with herself whether to kill someone and pour their blood into the punch, although she decided that could be done later, for now, she needed to get her sister a margarita. While getting the drinks she saw a few people who looked to be royals, although she couldn’t really tell, considering her little knowledge of the royals. For a while, Hestia would debate with herself whether what she wanted to get, all she could really focus on was how some of them had salt around the rim, or wait was that sugar. She’d shake the thought away, which was harder than she thought it’d be since it was just salt or sugar, wait, it’s on Bedelia’s drink as well. She’d just ignore the rim and pour herself a mixture of some punch with a good bit of vodka. She got the great idea to stab a random person in the back or force someone to announce she was here, even if they weren’t a ruler it’d cause chaos. She’d sip on her drink, thinking it was too sweet, she put too much punch in this. When she eventually got back to Bedelia she’d remark, “Here is your margarita with,” She’d pause, still confused about whether it was salt or sugar, “Either salt or sugar on the rim.”
She’d take a sip of her drink, giggling a bit before saying, “So Bedelia, who’s your favorite person of our crew,” She’d pause, “Other than me, of course.”

“They’re easy enough to confuse,” she’d say, thinking she was saying it without much tone, although it would come out slightly confused without her realization. She was pretty confused by what was going on and when Mara gained partial control, she panicked and got onto her knees to look Annie in the eyes. “Oh shit, are you okay?” she’d ask, ignoring the twins. She wouldn’t be thinking much about her actions and grabbed Annie’s hands to prevent the sparodic hand motions. The partial control comment would finally register, “What the hell do you mean, ‘partial control’?” She finally realized the twins were there and the only reasonable explanation for what was going on was them. “What the fuck did you do?” She’d ask, purposely trying to sound upset, but it’d come out partially cheery with a bit of upsetness.

Althea was a bit late, although she didn’t care. When she reached the door she refused to show her invite and eventually just give her name, considering she was quite well known in the feline kingdom for being able to heal anybody, although large amounts cause damage to her. She knew the place would likely go to chaos, it was a ball with very little protection for those in power, of course something will go wrong, meaning she’ll likely have to heal a lot of people. She checked the pockets of her nurse outfit, which she refused to change out of it, considering dresses couldn’t store much in their pockets and she’d likely need a good few bandaids today. She’d walk over to the stage, debating whether to announce her arrival or just stay here. She eventually decided she’ll just stay by the stage to look for anybody who seems incredibly hurt. Maybe she’d even see someone she healed before, considering the stage gave a view of everybody. She never really talked about this, but she remembered every detail of people she healed that were more major and could recognize them just on a small thing. That hair seemed familiar, Hm. That one was, maybe the one with all of their organs cut.

Aurelia felt her heart jump when Red asked her to dance. However, that feeling died when Red was distracted by Mika. Aurelia could feel a wave of jealousy and anger submerge her, and a million violent thoughts ran through their head. Aurelia loved the queen with all her heart and seeing Red obviously interested in Mika made Aurelia's entire body ache. It made Aurelia want to run away and cry, but Aurelia knew that'd be a stupid reaction. Aurelia just sighed and walked over to the snack table, trying to look for a slice of bread to nibble on as she tried to push her violent thoughts away.

Rosemary laughed as she watched her wife dance around. "The food is good," she said as she bit into a vanilla cupcake. She washed it down with a glass of water before speaking again. Rosemary began to open her mouth as if she were to say something, however quickly shut it when she noticed Pasithea's gaze. Rosemary said nothing but silently noted that she would have to stay near Petunia at all times. Trying to brush the worry out of her head, Rosemary sighed. "Would you like to dance with me, Petunia?" she asked, offering Petunia her hand.

Pasithea was trying to look normal, however, with her green hair and glowing silver eyes, anyone who could see had already glanced at her. Pasithea's fancy dress didn't do her any help either. Upon noticing Rosemary looking at her, Pasithea quickly looked away and disappeared into the crowd of people. She bumped into a few people as she was trying to move around, but never apologized. Pasithea knew that apologizing for things were useless. The only person in the world Pasithea has ever said sorry to is Arshi. Pasithea could picture Arshi right now. Arshi would likely be sitting on Pasithea's bed, either reading the books that Pasithea had lent her or just staring at the ceiling. Sighing, Pasithea wished she had brought Arshi along. Pasithea suddenly remembered the syringes she had in her purse, and opened it, placing her hand inside it in a totally not suspicious way. Pasithea gripped the syringe and quickly pulled it out. Looking around, Pasithea stabbed a girl in the arm, who quickly screamed and fell to the ground. Now the fun begins.

Anastasia could tell that everyone here was happy. How disgusting. From what she's heard, Satan feeds off of negative emotions. If everyone was happy, why on earth would the devil ever bother to show up? Anastasia was about to grab the knife she had attached to her thigh to stab someone, but when a scream echoed throughout the room, Anastasia could tell someone else wanted to ruin this party as well. Grinning, Anastasia looked around, trying to see if her mother had heard the scream too. Well, obviously she did, everyone did. Anastasia thought.

Azure stared up at Celestine. Getting up, Azure grabbed Celestine's hand and began to beg. "I'm so sorry! Please, don't hurt me! I won't do it again!" Azure cried out, her voice shaking. Azure knew how to fake being afraid. Fake tears began to fall from Azure's eyes. "Please don't hurt me! I have a husband and daughter!" Azure lied. She let go of Celestine's hand and grabbed her purse. Celestine had most likely focused on Azure's begging and hadn't noticed Azure snatch her ring. Azure didn't care that she just stole a ring off of the "bLoOdY qUeEn"'s finger. Getting up, Azure spoke. "Is there anything you need me to do in order to obtain your forgiveness?"

Cadogan watched Delroy's eyes through his mask as Delroy spoke. Cado always enjoyed listening to Delroy. Delroy's smart, and Cadogan admires them deeply for that. "How often do you travel to the human real-" Cadogan was quickly cut off by a piercing scream. Cadogan tightly hugged Delroy. Cadogan wasn't exactly scared, but the scream had shocked them. Cadogan squeezed his eyes shut and buried his face into Delroy's shoulder before speaking. "W-What was that?"

Euphrasia was wandering over to the snack table when she was stopped by a man in a short, poofy pink dress. Smiling, she asked him what he needed. "Can you show me where the napkins are? I was eating a cupcake and the icing got on my face and I can't get it offffff..." the person whined. Euphrasia smiled. The person reminded Euphrasia of one of her siblings, who was sadly dead now. Smiling, Euphrasia grabbed a napkin. "Do you want me to wipe it off for you?" she asked. The man nodded, a bright smile on his face. "Thank youuu!" he said happily. "I'm Astrophel, who're you?" he asked her. Euphrasia smiled. "I'm Euphrasia, the Dragonfly Queen."

Astrophel was excited. He had met someone nice, which was uncommon. Euphrasia was amazing. She reminded Astro of his sister. Astrophel wanted to stay by Euphrasia's side forever. She seemed so warm and kind, and Astro felt as if he could do anything he wanted to around her. He could be himself. Astro and Euphrasia's happiness was stopped when the loud scream rang out throughout the room. Astro grabbed Euphrasia's hand, freaked out and maybe a bit scared. Astrophel looked around, visibly confused and unsettled.

"SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIIIT!" Catriona screamed, rushing into the room, waving the invitation in a guard's face without stopping. "I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M LATE!" Catriona yelled at herself. She managed to figure out where Hestia and Bedelia where, and stopped, breathing heavily due to her running all the way to the castle. "I'm sooooo sorry I'm late, I couldn't find my mask, and my gloves were missing, and euagh, I'm sorry." Catriona said, calmly trying to explain it all. Catriona adjusted her short black gloves and wrapped her hand around the top of a steampunk looking cane.

"I suppose we do," Aragon Otaktay chuckled lightly, it was unclear if he new her intention or not for such a comment, "I guess albino beasts flock together," he added.
The two looked at Anya firmly, Aargon turned away first, then Beowulf, who cast a dangerous look at her from under the mask. Both father and son were moving towards a woman in a long blue velvet dress, a mask over her face as well, she walked up to Aargon and Beowulf. She moved her mask slightly to kiss Aargon, and replaced it moments later. It was clear who it was now, Winona, Beowulf's mother.

(only posting for Beowulf since the other three aren't being used currently)

Humminbird was taking careful sips as he zoned out, staring into space when he suddenly heard the scream of a woman and the thud of a body dropping down. At first, he looked around, surprised, and noticed a girl with something suspicious in her hand. He grinned cheerfully. "Oh, boy, finally something interesting." He said, chugging on his wine bottle down till not a single drop remained, and followed the noise.

One of Humminbird's associates, Neo, was already at the body. The middle-aged spy looked at Humminbird. '' I'll get her out of here to find a doctor. You go find the person responsible right now!" Neo ordered, Humminbird, still grinning with delight, nodded.

"You look crazy, Humminbird. How much have you been drinking tonight?'' Neo asked with his eyes squinted.

Humminbird's grin grew wider, showing snake fangs. "Just one bottle of the ol' grape juice, captain. And I'm always crazy--crazy happy." And with that, Humminbird walked away, stalking his prey (who so happened to be a green-haired hair girl with silver intriguing eyes named Pasitthea, which is not yet known by Humminbird) in the crowd, like a snake in the grass hunting for his mouse.

Anya nodded and smiled cheerily. "Indeed," she said. It would be rude to mention the reasons why they shouldn't "flock together" so early in their conversation, so she simply kept her mouth shut. The two held their gazes, but she held hers back with just as much force. Anya could do this all day and even felt some excitement bubble in her chest at Beowulf's glare. Anya trailed along with them, eyes widening slightly. The trio was all together now. "Pleased to meet you. I am Lady Anya, head knight of the Canine Kingdom," she declared and bowed. Faintly, she heard music begin to play and several couples readied themselves for a dance. Anya wanted to curse, feeling it'd be a hindrance if one of them waltzed away from her.
Petunia was happily nodding along, but paused when she saw Rosemary's gaze turned elsewhere. The music had begun and she blushed when her wife offered to dance, even though they'd done stuff like this hundreds of times before. "Of course," she said and took her hand, dancing towards the main crowd. They twirled around, the music bouncing from note to note, until they heard a piercing scream. The dancing couples paused for a moment, then regained their composure with most believing it to be someone having fallen over or something similar.
Annie finally gained most control with a jolt and she stumbled forwards slightly. Annette and Jacques reeled in disgust, not being fond of little kids. She looked up at Pandora, eyes big and scared. "Uh, I'm fine," she managed to get out, eyes flicking downwards. "Just . . . control." She couldn't explain this to her sister. She'd just tell her she was having a nightmare again, along with what everyone else had said. Annie knew it wasn't anyone's fault for not buying it. What was plaguing her was a literal nightmare. She didn't need to involve Pandora, either.
Annette merely stared at the princess, studying her face and actions. Jacques stepped forward, saying, "Huh? Mara? Or that little brat? Because we didn't do anything. Maybe blame Mara for going AWOL for no reason." It wasn't that the demon's disappearance had deeply affected him, it was more that he was annoyed she hadn't said anything.
Annette rolled her eyes at her brother. "You know she won't understand any of this. She doesn't even live in the same world we do," she said. She didn't really feel like staring at these people anymore, so instead settled on her surroundings. There were quite a few people, which would be overwhelming if this actually mattered. And food. Annette chewed the inside of her lip, not wanting to stare at it anymore. She turned back to Mara and the host's sister, returning to her clinical expression. The sudden scream did not phase her as it was normal for this to happen in the underworld. Plenty of people were being targeted down there, it was just their fault for being out in public. Annie clutched her sister's arm, looking around in fear.
Celestine yanked her hand away. Tears and pitiful expressions did not work on her. She did not notice Azure stealing her ring and instead folded her arms. Likely she'd notice it later and order death on this girl. At her offer, she stared for a moment in silence. It was long and awkward, despite the music starting and the scream cutting through the noise. "I want you to pay me back for the grievance you have pushed against me. Quite literally." She then paused for even longer. "Pay me back by finding the most well known thieves in the Bat Kingdom." It had suddenly come to her mind, and she wasn't sure why. "Otherwise you'll be beheaded." She gave a thin smile at that last bit, eyes remaining as open as they were before, not a single twinkle to be found.
Delroy was glad to answer, though was caught off guard by the scream. It was normal where they were from, though that didn't happen as often in the mortal realm. It was expected, though, seeing how foolish it was for opposing kingdoms to get together as if they weren't all about to go to war. "Oh, likely someone dying," he said. "We can find the body if you'd like," he added, lightly moving out of Cadogan's grip. It would be more comforting if he knew the source. "It may be Annette or Jacques. They would do something like this." Delroy's eyes scanned the area and spotted the body, though the siblings were nowhere near it. He led Cadogan over to it, grinning at the corpse. "See? Nothing too bad!" Delroy hadn't noticed they'd just gone where the dance was until they were swept up in it, being led away from the body in a dance. He grinned at Cado through his mask. "Well, it seems it all worked out in the end, didn't it?"
Bedelia waited for her sister to come back and smiled, taking the drink and sipping. "Salt," she replied. At the sudden question, a hot blush rose. She was a hopeless romantic and had several crushes on her crewmates over the years, though many of them had been unrequited. Luckily Bedelia was resilient and got over her heartbreaks easily, learning to take hints. It was mainly due to her young age. "Hm, Catriona is, like, so cool," she said, her eyes now lighting up. The music began and people started dancing, making her heart pang with a bit of envy. Just then, Catriona barreled into the room. Bedelia looked to Hestia in a bit of disbelief.

Hestia smiled, “That’s so stupid, sugar would make much more sense, although salt could add a good contrast.” She felt funny to be talking fancily about alcohol other than rum, considering that was all they really had on the boat. She’d be nodding along, “Hm, Catriona, good choice. Catriona doesn’t seem like they’d hurt you too much, you guys would be good together, but if she ever does anything to hurt you I’ll fucking kill her.” She was exaggerating slightly, although she wouldn’t be afraid to hurt Catriona. Upon the music beginning, she’d go to offer her hand, although once she realized Catriona was her she’d whisper to her sister, “Go get your woman.”
When she heard the scream she was hopeful, maybe that meant someone else was here and they were all killing. Now was the time for here to get somebody to annouce she was here. She had been walking around, until finally deciding on a flamboyant person attending. She’d have a knife to their back and would whisper how to do it, as well as the fact that if they do it wrong they’ll be killed right away. The person would reach the stage and say into a microphone, in a shaky voice, “There will be killings taken place after the dance, they will be caused by the most skilled pirate, Hestia Nymphe. There’s no use trying to escape, there are people at the entrance who will kill you. As long as you are behaving normally that will increase your chance of survival.” She smiled, the person was directly on script, not a single mistake. She’s smile, the true fun began now

Pandora was thankful for whatever was happening to of ended, “You don’t have to say what you mean by that, unless you want to then, by all means, go ahead.” She understood not wanting to tell things, that was honestly the worst part about her childhood was having to tell people things she didn’t want to tell, especially things she viewed as sensitive and shouldn’t be talked about, considering it would make her uncomfortable. She had honestly gotten distracted by a bug, and completely missed what they were saying other than, “Mara,” and “Different World.” She pushed them off, not fully though, “Are you okay?” She was still incredibly concerned about Annie’s safety, even if she didn’t understand what was happening. “Again, if you don’t really want to talk about it that’s okay, we can just dance”

Althea heard the scream, knowing she likely had to go help somebody. When she reached the body there were some pests near the body, “Shoo, I’m a doctor. I don’t need any of your help even if you ‘know how to help.’” She really didn’t want to put up with any more bullshit today. “If you’re going to be a piss baby about it just shut the hell up and sit back,” She didn’t feel like explaining the fact that she had healing powers, although that’d be fairly obvious after a while. She knew this one would cause a cut, considering the person was actually dead. They seem rich enough to pay her back for this, although it won’t be cheap. “If you interfere I will have you killed, right here, right now,” She’d be referring to Neo, they look like the type to annoy her half to death. She finally let them get words in, she was originally talking back to back, simply to prevent them from objecting. She began to heal the woman, considering how mundane it was to her to just touch a person and feel an odd pulsating sensation until it builds up into a bleeding wound that continues to get bigger bit by bit.
Wait, was that Pasithea? She’d much prefer to be talking to Pasithea instead of anybody here. She walked quite quickly, considering she was holding a dead body. Upon reaching Pasithea she’d smile, “How are you?” She put on a more nice deamoner for Pasithea, although she thought Pasithea would be fine if she was acting how she was before.

Aurelia sat underneath the snack table, playing with the cloth that was hiding her from public eye. She had crawled underneath to calm down in private, and felt like she didn't want to leave. Sighing, Aurelia poked her head out from under the table... right into someone's legs. "Aaugh, I'm so so so sorry!" she said as she stood up. After being forgiven, Aurelia walked away to find the queen.

Rosemary held Petunia close as they danced. Eventually, they were just swaying side to side, and Rosemary placed her head onto Petunia's shoulder. "I'm so happy we got to come here together," Rosemary whispered softly. "I love you so so much." When the loud scream broke out though, Rosemary quickly lifted her head, tightly holding Petunia to keep her safe. "What was that?" Rosemary asked as a million horrible scenarios ran through her head all at once.

Pasithea smiled at Althea, happy that there was someone amusing to speak to. "Althea, it's been forever!" she said, a wide smile spreading across her face. "I'm doing great now that you're here~" Pasithea said, looking Althea right in the eye. "You need help with that? I know that bodies can be pretty heavy. Sorry for killing them, by the way. I just needed to test a mixture I made~" Pasithea said, looking down at Althea and the body. Pasithea was unnaturally tall. This wasn't because of one of her potions of anything, just genetics. She might as well be classified as a basilisk instead of an anaconda.

"Fuck it," Anastasia whispered before walking over to her mother. "Hello, mother. How are you doing? Is the ball all you'd ever hoped for?" she asked, her voice having an unusually silky tone. "Oh dear, have I interrupted something?" she asked, looking at Azure. Smiling, she patiently waited for the blue haired canine and and her mother to finish what they were doing. Once the canine walked away, Anastasia began to speak again. "So, do you see anyone you know? Besides me, of course. Then again, you never really got to know me, did you?" Anastasia stated, an evil grin on her face. I'll do anything, so long as it upsets mother.

Azure stood up and gave Celestine a hug. "Thank you so much! I promise I won't disappoint you!" Azure said, crossing her fingers behind the queen's back. Suddenly, a thought hit her. The queen obviously doesn't have eyes on the back of her head, and wasn't she wearing a pretty necklace? Grinning, Azure carefully and gently took off the necklace, praying to her gods that Celestine didn't notice. When Azure pulled away, she quickly shoved the necklace into her purse, making sure Celestine didn't notice. That was when a girl in a red and black dress walked over to them- no. Walk wasn't a good word for it. More so, elegant bouncing. Azure needed to get out of there before Celestine noticed her missing ring and necklace, so Azure said, "Thank you so so much! I'll start looking right away!" before walking off.

Cadogan blushed, realizing how tightly he was holding onto Delroy. Quickly, they let go and looked at the body for a few moments before getting swept away with Delroy. Cado laughed, his voice higher pitched than usual, and a light pink blush on his cheeks. They looked cute. Cadogan held onto Delroy's sleeve to avoid losing them in the crowd of dancers and softly smiled. "This is fun." they said, looking around.

Euphrasia was honestly tired. She enjoyed talking with Astrophel, yes, but the queen was burned out from the sleepless nights that came with royal meetings and work. Sighing, she sat down on a sofa and before she knew it, was asleep.

Astrophel ran away from Euphrasia to figure out what the scream was about. He quickly ended up falling over after being bumped into. Instead of getting up, Astro began to admire the floor tiles. He tried to count how many there were as he crawled across the floor, poking each one as he counted. When Astrophel reached three hundred and realized he wasn't even halfway done, he gave up and stood up, returning to the snack table to get a sip of water.

"Hestia, Bedelia, how are you two? Apologies for being late, but I missed the ride here, and I had to run all this way in these god damn boots." Catriona said, forgetting that they had already attempted at explaining her lateness earlier. "Anyways, am I interrupting anything? What are we talkin' about?"(view spoiler)

Winona looked at Anya not showing any change in demeanor,
"Nice to meet you Lady Anya," she bowed politely.
She looked at Aargon when the music started to play, the two excused them selves, and went to dance.
Beowulf on the other hand stood quietly and looked down at Anya,
"I assume you know," he told her offhandedly.
He took her hand and dragged her after him to dance along with many of the other guests, he looked at her and even under the mask it was clear he was giving her a warning look.

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Anya only smiled at Beowulf and responded with, "If you try anything, I've requested a few knights to watch over me in case anything happens." She was caught off guard when he dragged her in to dance with him, though she supposed it would be more odd if they simply stood around. As they spun around, she added, "I won't try anything either. I just wanted you to know to stick to your own territory." There really wasn't a point in hiding anything anymore. Anya did have the upper hand. At any moment she could walk to the king or queen of the Canine Kingdom and tell them, along with evidence she had uncovered. She felt powerful, although she didn't let it take over her mind too much. Power could cause delirium, and delirium caused missteps. As they danced, each of her steps were perfect and on sync as if she'd practiced it her entire life, graceful as a swan.
Queen Petunia was going to respond with more sappy "I love you's", though her lop ears instantly went up. Slowly they lowered as the dance continued and they had to as well. "I'm sure someone just tripped. We can evacuate if necessary. The knights have planned an easy escape route, remember?" she said, hand rubbing Rosemary's back in reassurance. "If you'd like to go to a more quieter spot, we can. I don't want this to overwhelm you, seeing as it's only a party." Her concern was genuine and she edged them closer to where the wall was so they could go to a more empty spot if need be. The dead body was far off from them now and they wouldn't be able to see it unless they went back to where it had been.
Annie's brows furrowed, not sure how to respond. "I don't know," was all she said. She hated how she couldn't say anything more, but she knew if she did say anything it would just be ignored. Now the words seemed hard to get out at all, whether it be a lie or a truth. She was grateful when Panda skipped over all the stuff that was said, only focusing on her safety. "I'm okay. Let's danceee!" she said and grabbed her hands. Honestly, Annie didn't really know the dance that was currently happening too well. It was a bit of a romantic one and no one had really taught her those yet, but she had done it a few times.
Annette rolled her eyes. "Well, it's clear these people are useless. I hope the child gets her soul eaten one day, then Mara could come back to us," she said, not lowering her voice at all. She didn't care if the older sister heard and honestly thought it'd be funny if she did. She didn't seem a good listener, though, so Annette really had no reason to expect anything.
Jacques was staring at his father, a look of disgust on his face. "I just might barf. And not in a food related way." He saw his father's little fling clinging to his arm and shuddered. Annette held the same look, though was fighting to keep her expression emotionless. It would only hurt her to see that.
Celestine ungracefully wriggled out of Azure's grip, absolutely mortified at the physical contact with this disgusting person. By now she could tell something was definitely up, she wasn't stupid. The queen would keep watch of the blue girl, making sure she could figure out just what was happening. It may be an assassin, she thought. A very bad one at that. If Celestine had known it was a thief, she would have laughed because of how obvious it was. Someone so tactless could only be one, after all. She smiled coldly at her child. "I am doing well. Balls are never as fun as you'd hope," she stated, recalling her days as a princess. Her first few had been ones of expectation and daydreaming, though all that came by the end of the night was calloused feet and heels tossed on bedroom floors. She was glad that Anastasia wasn't being so horrid tonight, although it may be an act for something later. Celestine rolled her eyes. "Just a few connections, no one especially important. There's not much need for fighting tonight, is there?" She wasn't in the mood to have trivial arguments with her daughter. It was her problem to hold this ongoing grudge, not hers. "Now, do you notice anything different about me?" she asked, trying to figure out if that hug had held anything sinister to it. Well, her necklace was quite an obvious thing. Without it the queen looked bare, like a blank slate.
Delroy was elegant and the two stood out with their strange appearances and dark fashion. Some outliers stared, though most were caught up in the dead body and dancing to actually care. "Well, of course. Why would I take you?" they asked rhetorically. His grip on Cadogan was firm and reassuring, leaving no room for hesitation. For him, the dance was a competition. While the two appeared in sync, each step was led by Delroy, each movement by him. That was simply their nature: taking charge. "I didn't need to use my persuasion ability to convince you to come. That's how in love with me you are," they said as their thumb found Cadogan's cheek and traced downwards to their chin. Their nails were sharp but his movement was gentle and focused, not leaving a scratch.
Bedelia wasn't sure how to respond to that complaint. To be honest, she liked both, although the salt reminded her of the sea. Already she felt a bit homesick, wanting to be near the ocean. It would have been nice to have been born a member of the Fish Kingdom. Then they could attend all the balls they wanted while being literally in the water. She nodded. "She's so mature and hot even though she's around my age!" Bedelia always felt so useless compared to Catriona. She wasn't meant to be a pirate, but Catriona was. Upon Hestia's words, she grinned and started towards the pirate. "It's okay, Catriona! You're here and that's all that matters," she said cheerily, drinking the last of her margarita. "The food here is wonderful and it looks like they've begun dancing." She looked at the crowd of people, hoping the red head would take the cue and ask her to dance. Her heart sang in her chest and her foot was tapping ever so slightly.

“She is really hot,” Hestia nodded in agreement, not disappointed by Bedelia’s choice in women. She found all of her crewmates attractive, so her calling Catriona hot really didn’t mean much, even if she said it to her face. “Well, I knew plenty of people who were super mature for their age before we devoted our lives to this,” she never liked thinking of the times before she became a pirate, although sometimes it couldn’t be helped.
“Well, Catriona, Bedelia, I’ll be off, I’m going to have some fun myself,” She knew they would know what this meant, although it was pointless to not just say that she was going to kill people. She found the perfect person murder, giving them a painful death would be fun, they look like they’d go down fighting. She stabbed them in the back, but instead of fighting they just screamed, that was annoying and she figured just killing them would be easier. She felt as though the scream would partially announce that she was here, but it wouldn’t say it was her, considering there was another scream already. She eventually decided to go with her original plan of getting something to announce that the dread pirate Hestia was here.

“Hell yeah, I only vaguely remember how to do most dances, so you’ll lead,” She thought it was kind of funny, considering how much taller than Annie she was and that Annie was leading. She’d laugh loudly, the thought only kept getting funnier. “After this dance, I’m going to refill my drink, please don’t run off,” She doubted Annie would, but it’d be safe to ask, just in case.

“Oh no, I’m perfectly fine, I might sit down though,” She never was a fan of making people help her, even if she found the people to be useless. “Oh, it’s perfectly fine, I was honestly expecting you to kill at least one person, so,” She’d pause, digging through her pockets, “I brought a few bandaids with me because honestly, the royals are just asking to be killed by attending this.” She smiled, Pasithea was fun to talk to, although she was probably wanted in a few kingdoms, that just made it even more fun. “Ugh, yeah I’m gonna sit down,” She’d say, while already getting ready to sit down. “Sorry, I just hate carrying things.”

Before taking her to dance he sighed,
"Who said I was going to do anything?" he questioned her.
As they danced he looked at her with a serious gaze, the same that he usually wore.
"I assume you know, I'm half and half, so in theory both are my territory," he tells her, "Not to mention, I'm the royal advisor," he adds.
Beowulf was being careful he was born with the ability extreme intelligence, which had only been an advantage to his parents when they discovered this, yes sometimes he let things get to his head. But more often then not, he was very focused on what he had planned out and organized.

When Althea made it to Pasithea first, Humminbird smiled grimly. Drats...I have to get her alone...
You know what, he thought, I think I might just...
Humminbird grinned. He left them. For now. He will wait for some more fun to happen...even if someone dies. It's a ball, for crying out loud! Let the crowd have their fun, and let the most fun be saved for last.
Humminbird chuckled a bit. He walked to the food stand once more, lost in thoughts of bloodbaths, until he almost ran into Selah. The evilness in his face disappeared completely as he greeted the lady. He smiled apologetically, "Oh, forgive me, milady! I was merely daydreaming until I accidentally stumbled upon you. My apologies." He bowed in curtsy.

Selah was a beautiful woman, for a slave, she had been brought her to accompany the ruler of her kingdom; certainly not because she wanted to be at this place. Her tail was awkwardly to long for a place with to many people and she kept getting odd looks, at a serpent was following the ruler of the spider kingdom.
"No my apologies," she bowed deeply, her voice sounded like it would have strength but she looked to nervous to use it, so much so that it was like it had been taken from her.
She was in lower ranking then this person and she knew she shouldn't do anything to make herself seem of more importance, things like that got you in trouble she had found.

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

"No, no, I beg to differ...milady." It was in mid-sentence when Hummibird caught the lady's scent. You see, the scent of royalty and peasants are so different to Humminbird, and you may think it was no brainer, but a peasant could wear the fanciest clothes and be classified as noble, or a princess wearing dirty tunics can be laughed at and be dubbed a dirty witch. No, no: it's the smell that can't be erased. No matter if they were rolling in the mud with pigs, or if they showered themselves with the freshest perfume, the smell lingeres. The origins stay.
"A fun night, ain't it? How are you enjoying yourself, my noble lady?" He asked, smiling with delight.

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

Anya raised her eyebrows as if the answer to his question were obvious. She calmly said, "I think remaining cavalier in this situation would be dangerous. Especially since you can practically feel the tension in this room." 'Cavalier' was a bit of a racist comment, although it was used so casually that only cavaliers would mind. Despite the white-teethed grins and glitter of the room, there was a darkness lurking inside of it. Among all the dance and wine were furrowed brows and guards eyeing each person with suspicion.
She rolled her eyes. "Traitors don't count. I'm sure you're smart enough to know that as royal advisor, eh?" she said and grinned like she didn't have a care in the world, but her eyes remained sharp and alert. Anya pretended to pause and think for a moment, but she already had the question formulated. "Why exactly would you choose to side with the Feline Kingdom? Do you truly believe that once you supposedly win this war, they will accept you? No, you're a half breed. I highly doubt you'll ever be one of them, not if they know you're just a cuwte wittle puwppy!" The whole reason she said this was to see if Beowulf would tick. That may gain some insight into his whole reasoning, although it was merely a shot in the dark. Her ears flicked to the next scream and she narrowed her eyes. It was getting dangerous. But another skull wouldn't be so bad.

((skipping my lovely baby petunia because greta skipped uwu))

Annie smiled and pretended she knew what she was doing. It was very obvious she did not. Despite that, she grabbed Pandora and led her in, their dance moves absolutely not in sync with the others. Some nearby stopped their dance to giggle, but not in a malicious manner. It seemed that Annie lit up the room with her cheer and sparkle and soon they were smack dab in the middle for all to see. Her purple dress swished around and her eyes reflected the glitter of the chandelier. "I love you!" she exclaimed and stopped dancing, hugging her sister tight. Very tight. To be honest, it was kind of off putting just how strong she was. "You make things easier," she whispered vaguely while her face was mashed on Pandora's dress. Annie could forget so much when around Panda. About Mara. About the bad thoughts. About her weird feelings toward a certain someone. Everything melted away. Even the scream, but her sister would probably notice it.

((skipping jacques and annette . . might have them kill someone soon dfkj;jk;lfdjk;ld))

((delroy too))

Bedelia looked after Hestia for a moment, not usually being alone with other people. Well, she had been, but her sister had always been within reach. A small smile made its way up her face as she saw her stab someone. The scream definitely alerted quite a few this time, making some people irked that there had been two screams. She couldn't wait for the chaos to ensue.

Beowulf continued to dance around the room with her, he made sure to keep a distance from his parents, giving them time to talk as they never saw each other more then once every month or every few months. They many seem like harsh people, which they were, but they did love each other.
"I see, and yes, the tension is strangling," he commented.
The kingdoms were at war, this guarded atmosphere and people who were keeping back information a secrets or were here to pass on information was heavy. Beowulf wasn't ignorant to it.
"I'm not traitor in my eyes, I work for both, I advise our country well, do I not?" "And I do the same my country as well."
He decided to press a matter onto her that he had been meaning to ask, knowing that she knew this person,
"You on the other hand have only caused trouble for someone and her family," he commented, offhandedly.
He smiled down at her, something that he didn't do often,
"I have split loyalties," "And you would be surprised what effect you have when you work for them, as well as your mother doesn't exactly care for her own kingdom," "My mother is a wolf, yes, but she doesn't agree with the canines, she leans towards the felines."
He wasn't visibly affect by her question, but it may have given her insight, he wouldn't know. He could feel her nerves move at the scream and tightened his grasp on her hand slightly,
"When you are dancing with someone, your attention is on them, I would think you'd know that," he half teased.

༓Selah༓
She looked confused, at his comment, why had he paused she wondered. Selah was a noble nor did she try to present herself as one, but Belladona had requested that she wear what she did in this moment. It hadn't been her choice that the stone and jewels were embedded into her scales and skin.
"Yes, it's quite... different," she said, her eyes widened a little when he said noble.
SHe simply smiled, and replied, correcting him. Selah didn't want to be labeled as something she wasn't.
"I'm sorry, I'm no noble, I'm a servant to Belladona of the Spider Kingdom," she stated.

Humminbird's smile widens in disbelief. "Oh? Surely you jest, milady!" He brought his hands together and tilted his head. "You look nothing like a servant, but a beautiful princess in the shining moonlight."
His smile was perfectly charming and sweet! He must've been quite the charmer with the ladies in his free time. "But perhaps I'm stepping out of line. I'm nothing more than a spy for the Snake Kingdom, madam." He said, bowing his head.

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

Anya raised an eyebrow. "You believe endangering my kingdom is not traitorous? If I'd just met you I'd call you out of your head," she said.
She rolled her eyes. "People can go through a little hardship now and then. It's her fault for being so stupid." Really, Anya was more annoyed this had to cause trouble for her. She would have preferred everything to be much more seamless than it was, but with a situation like this it was rather impossible. Yet the half butterfly was a perfectionist, always wanting things to end precise.
Anya was repulsed by his smile due to how rarely he'd done so and the small pang of excitement she got out of it.
"Hm, so you just listen to your mommy?" she said and cruel grin spread across her face. "Don't worry, most people do, I just didn't expect that from a smart guy like you."
When he tightened his hold on her she wanted to snarl, to wrench out of his grasp and attack, but that would be unladylike. Instead she fixed on him an ice cold glare. Her dance steps became faster, making sure he had to follow her movements. "Let's see if you can keep your eyes on me," she whispered sharply, her purple eyes trained on him.

Hestia smiled, glad then went down with a scream, but still, she needed to announce that she was here. She decided to walk towards the stage, maybe she could announce it herself and act like a scared little person who was forced to say all of this. She took a few deep breaths in, trying to make herself seem as nervous as possible. She decided to sit by the stage for a moment, still trying to make herself seem like a nervous mess.

She was laughing almost the entire time they were dancing, they obviously had no clue what they were doing and she found that funny, but it was much more fun than dancing properly. Pandora slightly jumped at the contact, not out of fear, just she didn't expect to be hugged. "I love you too," she'd say while patting Annie's head. "What was that Annie? I can't hear you since, well, your face is mashed into my dress," she said, trying to sound as kind as possible, but it'd come out slightly rudely.
She jumped when she heard the scream, although she realized she should quickly come up with a thing to disguise it as, to avoid Annie getting scared, "Man, a lot of people must be falling. Do you want to head out of here and get something to eat somewhere else? I have a bit of money on me." She was glad she thought of that excuse, she didn't want Annie to get hurt, but if she said no it'd be fine, Pandora would just have to prevent anybody from hurting Annie.

He shrugged, "You see it as traitorous, I see it as I still haven't fully decided my side," he offered.
He chuckled, at her insensitive comment, he thought for a moment then replied.
"So if someone in your kingdom went though the same I wouldn't be allowed to have a little pity on them and rather, shame them?" he chastised.
Beowulf knew he wasn't meant to feel sorry either, but he himself personally felt sympathy towards the girl, he'd already heard about what had happened to her brother. It shouldn't have happened if he was honest, while his side was undecided in his mind, he was still planning on helping Shanti and her family in someway.
"Sure, I respect my mother and her choices," "As I respect my father and his," he stated, "But I will most likely end up resigning from my position one day and live on my own," he adds.
Beowulf in general wasn't a big fan of people, and in that last years of his job and status, people had been somewhat of a daily requirement. Not one he enjoyed. So he planned on leaving that all behind and living on his own, there were many empty forests according to his research, and no one would travel in the places he a scouted, so it was only a matter of time till Beowulf disappeared without a trace.
"I'll do my best," he comment, wasn't mean, simply indifferent.
He followed her steps, Beowulf was quite a dancer himself.

She didn't seems to find the first comment comforting, not in the least, in fact she looked a little concerned for her well being. The compliment was something she couldn't accept either, in fact speaking to someone such as Humminbird himself was something she wasn't allowed to do without permission. Selah looked around for Belladona to ensure she wasn't being watched.
"I cannot accept such a compliment," she replied calming herself, "And I must get back to my place," she adds.
Bowing quickly, she turned suddenly, her long tail trailing after her in the crowd of people.

Humminbird watched her go, a bit in shock. "Do you think I'm above you? Because, really, I'm still a peasant. A commoner." He called out to her...but he grinned. He then followed her, practically skipping along. "And if you get in trouble, I shall take full blame, of course." He said, smiling.

Anya shook her head. "No, Beowulf, endangering the kingdom is no excuse. You can say you're deciding, but it's clear where your loyalties have been," she said drily. She was silent for a moment at his remark, realizing it was rather true and she couldn't refute it so easily. It wasn't as if she was remorseless, some evil creature that didn't pay heed to the struggles of others. However it was easier this way. It meant Anya could properly focus on her mission, her duty to the kingdom.
"It is not as if I am heartless, but sacrifices must be made," she finally settled with. She didn't know why she had to prove herself to this man, but each time he gave a reason the urge to fight back rose within.
"You respect his decisions? If you are so remorseful, why do you consider what he's done okay?" she asked, annoyed at the hypocrisy. "You can act high and mighty, but in the end we're both killers." Anya scoffed at his wish. "It isn't a life you can simply escape, Beowulf. Do you think no one will come after you? Especially me," she said and grinned, imagining how wonderful it'd feel to kill him.
Anya was quite annoyed with his indifference to the situation, wanting to rile him up somehow. Still, she couldn't figure out any sort of method.
Annie blushed and said, "I don't really remember, just that I care about you. That's the important thing." She smiled her little-kid smile that made everyone happy. She thought for a moment, making loud hMmM type noises. Finally, she said, "Well, if you want that. Anything as long as you're here, sis! If you do want to leave, there are so many things we could do, but if you want to stay we could gorge on food all night and then sleep past the time I'm supposed to wake up!" She honestly didn't mind either way, not noticing all the chaos in the background as she was simply happy that Panda was here with her.
Jacques felt that this party was too . . . human. He stopped slouching and looked around, smirking. Annette had a feeling that her brother was going to wreck this place, yet she had no objection. This wasn't anywhere near home, the two of them could cause as much chaos and get away without anyone being upset. Even Delroy wouldn't mind, likely getting a kick out of the screaming mortals.
Jacques turned his head to his sister, the two of them nodding in unison, separating for a moment. Jacques went to a poor stranger and slipped a knife that went in like butter, driving it up from their stomach straight to their heart. Already there was chaos, but this time the scene was much more brutal.
On the other side Annette used her abilities to persuade people to do things and all of a sudden a crowd of men used the utensils they'd been holding to stab themselves repeatedly. She disliked the thought of people running away when the fun had just begun, but hoped that things would run smoothly for her. The two, having separated, continued their murdering spree.
Bedelia soon separated from her, wishing to be near to Hestia. It was a bit embarrassing, but she had gotten a bit overwhelmed from the alcohol she had consumed along with the loud noise. She stood close to the stage, smiling encouragingly at her older sister, now ready for the violence that would come on. Bedelia's fingers tingled with anticipation and she looked around at the unknowing people beside her, all chattering or dancing.

"Ah, that's fine, Annie," she said while still patting Annie's head. The wait felt like forever, she just wanted to get out soon, not in too much of a rush, if there was any foul play they'll likely wait for a while. "Yeah, let's go find something else to do, just after I refill my drink," she wasn't sure which way the food station was, so it might take her a moment. She was already planning things in her mind, she knew a lot of stuff within the feline kingdom capital that they could go to, and with the money that she had on her they could maybe get a quick meal, maybe something from a bakery. Something easy.
She began to wander around, trying to find the drink station, checking every now and then to make sure Annie is still with her.

Hestia thought she had finally gotten her seemingly anxious act, and she had. It wasn't perfect, but it would likely fool most, the only downfall is that they might recognize it as her, considering her face is available in any books about her ship league. She stepped up onto the stage, taking her time with each step, trying to make it seem like her legs were shaky and once she finally got up she shakily said into the microphone, "There . . . uh there will be m-more . . killings taking place tonight, they will be done by, th-the dread pirate Hestia, the m-most renowned and powerful . . . pirate. If you act normally . . your chances of surviving will uh will raise if you act scared you will be i-immediately terminated." she acted as though she was still incredibly shaky from that while walking off of the stage, but it was slightly obvious it was faked, how couldn't it be? She had just done something so amazing, so . . . brave, she deserved to be rewarded.
