That's actually pretty cool! The family Borophaginae [extinct, closely related to Canidae] became extinct because of a (food) WAR WITH CATS! This honestly sounds like something in human history ngl.

(view spoiler)[Liam Quail is, being honest, a horrible person. Due to his backstory, he's quite apathetic towards most things, and only really becomes bent on vengeance. He holds grudges for a surprisingly long time, and won't rest until they are rectified. Liam is extremely skillful in stealth and uses his skills to benefit either himself or the highest bidder. He doesn't have many friends, and when he does, the relationship is always tentative at best. He's secretly wanting a companion but doesn't really let anyone know that. Liam often makes dark jokes or ridiculous threats that others aren't sure if he'll follow through with. He's confident, somewhat stubborn, and not one to follow directions. However, when Liam does make relationships with others, his loyalty to them is interminable. It just takes a rather long time to get to this point. Most people he has "connections" with are victims of threatened blackmail or an unforgotten deal. I wouldn't really consider Liam a villain, most of his personality is a side-effect of his occupation. Perhaps making a real connection with someone would bring out a better part of Liam...

(view spoiler)[ Liam Quail grew up in a middle-class family, always having food, but never anything too extravagant. His family, the Quails, had a rival: the Trulucks. They would constantly fight, and Liam hated it. However, he had a younger twin sister, †Angelica Quail who he loved dearly. Liam would constantly use his allowance to buy her gifts. One day, a mysterious basket showed up at their doorstep, filled with what seemed to be wonderful food. Liam, having breakfast right before, wasn't very hungry. The rest of his family, twin included, devoured the lavishly delicious meal. A few days later, they all became extremely ill. Lethally ill. Whoever brought the basket to their doorstep laced the food with chocolate. Liam was never the same after that day. It was as if his emotion drained out of him. He vowed vengeance towards the Trulucks, who he was sure poisoned his family. Training as an assassin in the shady alleyways of Solemdatcher, Liam Quail became the best of the worst. 3 months after he left Solemdatcher, the Truluck household mysteriously combusted and completely burned down. Liam was far away before anyone showed up. Having fulfilled his vengeance, Liam gained a large reputation in Solemdatcher. He knew of every sentence spoken in the streets, and slowly moved from petty pickpocketing to high-profile burglary. The Canine King heard of his artifice and decided to hire him as a spy, where Liam Quail works to this day. (hide spoiler)]

Liam Quail is a mix between human [homo sapien] and golden jackal [canis aureus]. He has the tall ears and long tail of a jackal, as well as the physical heart of one. Over 80% of his neurological system is humanoid, leading him to be intelligent and skillful in social affairs. However, he does have a small part dedicated to the senses of a golden jackal, allowing him to hear and sense danger well. Like most animals in the Canidae family, he cannot consume chocolate and is extremely sensitive to poison. Even a small dose could have potentially lethal impacts. The rest of his body is humanoid, though his fingernails are more claw-like than usual and are extremely sharp & strong.

Liam has golden-ish hair, with the golden-ish ears of a jackal, with dark streaks appearing randomly. His eyes are green, and he stands at about 5 feet, 4 inches. He's rather slim, with a weight of 100lbs at most.

Liam Quail has.. interesting genetics. Over the course of his lineage, some feline genes were mixed into the bloodline, mostly staying dormant. However, the power of invisibility trumped strength for Liam, which is why he's amazing at sneaking up on people, but not the best at raw strength. His invisibility is slightly weaker than that of a feline, and he must hold his breath during the duration of the effect.
