FINISHED JANUARY'S CHALLENGES!
I'm going to try to be better about posting here this year. So far this year I have finished The House at Sea's End which was another in the Ruth Galloway mystery series. I like this series a lot and can relate to Ruth in many ways and really love some of the side characters like Cathbad. He makes me laugh. This story investigates some bodies that are found due to beach erosion under the house of the MP's family in Broughton. The tale ties the present to WWII with the investigation. It was a fun read. I have also read Take This Man which I won on a Goodreads contest. That story involves 3 women who meet at the funeral of their current or former husband, depending on the women. That chance encounter and a strange request in the man's will lead to friendship and a life that none of the women ever expected. Karla, Kim and Terry are well developed and strong personalities in their own rights and their interactions make for an interesting nove.

Both books sound good.
Both books sound good.
They were. I also just finished "The Pull of the Stars" by Emma Donoghue which I thought was very good. That story grabbed me and would not let go. I loved Julia and Birdie and would have liked to have seen more of Dr. Lynn as well.
So for a non-fiction book I just finished reading Dick Van Dyke's autobiography "My Lucky Life in and Out of Show Business". It was quite entertaining much like the author and he opens up about his addiction and an affair he had. It was interesting seeing the non public persona. I really enjoyed that book. I also finished "The Crossroad" by Beverly Lewis. It was a solid story by Lewis but wasn't one of my personal favorites by her. At times I found the story seemed forced to get to the happy, everyone finds God and love ending that it has.
