description

This month we're reading BOE meaning Book in Afrikaans.

Use the books you finish in February to fill out the word, or both, using the first letter of the first word in the title (excluding 'the', 'a' or 'an') or the first letter of the author's name, middle name or surname.

Books must be at least 120 pages long.

Apologies, this is very late (I'm in the midst of the IT project implementation from hell, which I hope will soon pass, but 3 weeks on, it doesn't feel like it!)

Wayne Jordaan | 825 comments That is me, done with February's word. The standout is definitely Homage To Catalonia

B - The Bookish Life of Nina Hill by Abbi Waxman
O - One August Night by Victoria Hislop
E - Empire of Pain by Patrick Radden Keefe
K - The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson

Wayne Jordaan | 825 comments Great stuff Diane. I have the Empire of Pain on the monthly schedule, but do not think I will get to it.

I highly recommend it, Wayne. Maybe for next month?

Congrats, Diane! I'm definitely not making this one. Empire of Pain is on my list, but won't get there soon. I listened to a very interesting podcast with the author last week: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/02/14/op...
.

Thanks Carolien, I'm keen to listen to this. I hope things settle for you for March.

I spent the whole weekend reading. Fortunately it rained so we were not out hiking or anything. Done by judicious selection of at least one short book.

March should be better, At least I don't have board meetings at work and most of my colleagues who had Covid are back.

Nothing better than a whole weekend of reading. I got very little reading done due to great weather. Spent the weekend watching hubby and son sail in a regatta.

Good stuff Carolien! I was certain you would be able yo pull something out of the hat. I am now struggling to read 13 books in the Mishmash and Serial Killer challenges for the first quarter. That is if I want to stick with the originals. I already have a couple of alternatives in the Mishmash that can slot in if push comes to shove.

I have 3 left for MishMash and 3 for Serial Killer - of course there is no overlap, and I have a surfeit of A's for next month.
