Yay I wish you luck! I would love your input with this one. It’s different from your usual type so I’m really curious what you’d think about it. If it helps (and if you live in the US), this book is available on Hoopla in audiobook and ebook and it’s also on Overdrive.

LOL That's an accomplishment right there! XD

I love Galen so much. I also appreciate how the author doesn't simply boast about how great a person he is and simply shows it through his genuine personality and his thoughtful actions.

Here's a few questions about this book. Have fun!
1. Who's your favorite character and why?
2. What are your thoughts on King Understone?
3. Do you think this is instant lovey? Or do you think that people who mature faster when growing up in dangerous circumstances know who's the best fit for them quicker?
4. Who's your favorite flower princess and why?
5. Who's your least favorite flower princess and why?
6. Walter is precious. (No. I didn't forget the question mark. It's just a ✨fact✨)

YAS!
Petunia is my favorite princess more because I loved her in The Silver Woods.
I don't think it was instant love because Galen took care of all the princesses. He wasn't even dating any of the princesses but he cared about them all. I think any woman would never want to let go of a man who cared about her whole family so much that he would risk his own life.

1.) Galen -Obvs. ;)2.)Total creeper, but a solid villain.
3.) I'd say it's somewhere in-between
4.) Poppy -she's the most relatable I think
5.)???Rose maybe? XD *that's probably just out of jealousy for Galen though* xP
6.)Walter is the peg-leg guy, right? Yes, love him!

Winter isn't that always the problem, getting the girl out of the way so you can have the hero?! LOL

Preach! Him comforting Pansy as (view spoiler) was so sweet. He took the risk of exposing himself to comfort her and cheer her up. (view spoiler)

I just realized I forgot to answer my own questions oops.
1. Galen and Rose (Don't make me choose. It's physically impossible for me XD)
2. I find him interesting as a villain because even though he's pure evil, he somehow manages to still have dimension and isn't 2D as many pure evil villains are.
3. I don't think it's too instant lovey because you can only find your other half once you know who you are as a person. Because once you understand yourself, you understand what you're looking for and need in a partner. Facing difficult circumstances makes people understand who they are faster and so I think their love story is justified.
4. Poppy because she always makes me laugh.
5. In this story, I don't dislike any particular princess. But I'm not really a fan of Pansy once she's grown up.
6. Walter and the old Fräu are irreplaceable.

I know it's past February now but I actually finally finished this and just wanted to comment on how much I loved this book. Great recommendation and I can't wait to read the other 2 books.
1) Has to be Galen. I don't normally like really perfect characters but he stole my heart with how kind he is to everyone around him. Poppy, the governess, the cook, the magician he meets at the beginning, Rose, etc. He just radiated goodness and I couldn't help but love him.
2) While he is one-dimensional it worked so well. His motivations make perfect sense and his master plan is actually pretty smart. Sometimes I just enjoy the villain being a god-awful villain.
3) Not instant lovely. Instant chemistry and attraction, yes, but their love developed at a good pace for me. I think had Galen loved Rose or not he would've risked his life to help them because he truly cared for all the girls and not just Rose. Plus, he's just big on doing the right thing.
4) Poppy. Very funny and I liked her interactions with Galen. I was intriguedby Hyacinth (I can't remember the pious ones name) because I was curious how she came to be that way.
5) Mmmm, can't say much. None of them annoyed me.
6) Facts.

It's alright. Feel free to comment on any BotM whenever. They're always open for discussion :)
I like all the points that you made. Great observations. Are you planning on reading the second book Princess of Glass? It's Poppy's book and I loved it too.
