Matt Ryder | 9 comments There are also people who are skilled at blocking others from switching between bodies.
The protagonist is on the run from an organisation of body switchers and blockers and the final confrontation happens on bridge after they chased the protagonist from a lake house and the author describes the blocker as a grotesque large lady

Please help, I loved the book and wanted to check out the authors other works :D

Andy | 2124 comments Was this one of the "Wild Cards" books, which features a gang of bodyswappers http://wildcards.wikia.com/wiki/Jumpers ?

message 3: by Matt (new)

Matt Ryder | 9 comments I'm afraid not Andy.
It was more of a shadowy powerful organisation than a street gang.

message 4: by Andy (new)

Andy | 2124 comments Ok. You might find your book listed here (under Literature) http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php...

message 5: by Andy (new)

Andy | 2124 comments If there were aliens involved, it might be Chalker's "Identity Matrix"

message 6: by Matt (new)

Matt Ryder | 9 comments No aliens involved and not on the Literature list unfortunately.
Thanks for continuing to try Andy :)

message 7: by Alys (new)

Alys | 8 comments It almost reminds me of Clive Barker's _Imagica_

message 8: by Matt (new)

Matt Ryder | 9 comments Not that one either Alys sorry :(

David (davidofterra) | 59 comments Matt, is it a A Plague of Pythons?

message 10: by Ket (new)

Ket | 163 comments Any chance this is part of Octavia Butler's Wild Seed series?

message 11: by Wolfgarr (new)

Wolfgarr | 10 comments is the Protagonist a Symbiotic organism?

This "Title" has me giggling a bit.. But it does ring my memory bells. If its a symbiotic organism i might have a idea to what book your looking for.

message 12: by Matt (new)

Matt Ryder | 9 comments It's not any of the above i'm afraid David and Tana and no Symbiotic Organisms either Wolfgarr
The protagonist is just a normal guy who has the ability to switch bodies
Thanks for replying anyway

Glen D'souza | 5 comments There is a book called Touch by Claire North which has a very similar storyline.

message 16: by Matt (new)

Matt Ryder | 9 comments It is not an "Adult book" it's sic fi and it's not Touch
Thanks for continuing to try though

It has sex scenes but is not an adult book? Is it YA?

message 18: by Ross (new)

Ross Bauer (nightlightknight) | 13 comments Might it be Body Surfing: A Novel?

message 19: by Matt (new)

Matt Ryder | 9 comments It's not Body Surfing Woolfie as it has no magical/supernatural elements
Yes Lobstergirl, it's no YA either it's Sci Fi

Juels | 3320 comments You didn't indicate either way regarding my suggestion of Hopscotch.

Michele | 279 comments Lobstergirl wrote: "It has sex scenes but is not an adult book? Is it YA?"

I think by "adult" they are referring to erotica.

message 22: by Michele (new)

Michele | 279 comments How long ago did you read this one, and did it seem like a fairly new book?

Does the protagonist stay male? I mean is he hopping to both types and having all kinds of sex?

Is it a mutual switching with consent? Or is he stealing bodies? Do the original souls go crazy in the new body or anything?

This sounds a bit familiar in a very vague way....

message 23: by Matt (new)

Matt Ryder | 9 comments hopscotch is the closest i've seen to it, but it definitely isn't the book

It's not erotica, it's Sci-Fi

I read the book just over a year ago, it could have been 70s or two years old? I can't remember any identifiers
They take over bodies without consent, there was no mention of what happens to people while their bodies are in use
I think he stayed in male bodies
the main scene that sticks with me is he meets up with a woman in a back office of a strange futuristic club and they have sex, both of them then switch through loads of other couples having sex together

message 24: by Juels (new)

Juels | 3320 comments These seem to have a similar theme but don't appear to be a close enough match. Just in case, I'm throwing them out there.

Flip by Martyn Bedford
Mindslide by Alex B. Westphal
Mindswap by Robert Sheckley
Muscle Memory by Steve Lowe

message 25: by Matt (new)

Matt Ryder | 9 comments None of those i'm afraid Juels
Thanks for trying though

Matt, are you still looking for this or did you find it?

message 27: by Lobstergirl, au gratin (new)

Lobstergirl | 44940 comments Mod
Very similar to Sleep No More by Greg Iles although that's a thriller, not sci-fi and the demon soul switching in and out of bodies during sex is female. And there's no organization of body switchers.

However, there is a penultimate scene on a bridge where someone who is possessed by the demon soul drives off the bridge in an attempt to kill the demon.
