Chutki!! I had forgotten this part. She is something and her death is so sad. Poor Jim.

Oh my god Chutki is shot to death! I don't like this plot choice. Who thinks this is a good idea to kill of Jim's little sister.

This book feels very much like Kim by Rudyard Kipling which is a much loved book from my childhood. Not because it's set in India but the atmosphere and sentiment are very reminiscent of that story.

I've never read Kim. Isn't it awful when Chutki dies!

I just finished chapter 54 with the skirmish in the boat! Chutki! So sad! She was such a strong girl. I would have loved to see her in future stories.
