When Washington D.C. was attacked and burned by the British, war supporters like John C. Calhoun, found themselves in a quandry about how to keep people in support of the war. Calhoun would frame the argument about this being America's second war of independence. Would you have agreed with him or would you, had you lived at the time, felt differently about the war?
