I would like to read it Shawnie, but it's so long! I'll see if I have time in the second half of the month. :)
I'll be starting it after I finish the book I'm currently reading. Not been reading that much lately though so hope I can finish it. I have 3 copies so suppose it's about time I read one!
I’m about 20% in and finding it hard to put down. The language is excessive but it kind of fits with the story’s and characters. I don’t know what it says about me but I’m not finding the violence too bad either.
I feel like I'm reading and reading. There are so many words. lol It's good, though. I love Gabriel's creative names and swearing. Very entertaining.
Haven't read this but had a question as to how this would be the Sci-Fi book of the month? Is this Sci-Fi with vampires? Edit: Nevermind, looks like they had Pandora's Star as Fantasy so it looks like they mixed two by mistake.

I'm about 250 pages through and really enjoying it. Think its finally managed to get me out of my reading slump although its still taking me ages to get through. Will try and finish it by the end of the month but probably won't.From what everyone has said about it I was thinking it would be more bloody and sweary than it is and while it is both of those it's not as bad as I was expecting.
Quite enjoying having it split up into 2 timelines. I think it gives a nice break. I'd probably start to get a bit bored if it was all one continuous story. Also the fact the chapters are really short is great too, helps get through it.

I agree, Hayley, the short chapters, two timelines, and occasional conversations with Jean-Francois help me stay in it.

Just finished. That ending was incredible and left so many questions. I can't wait to see what book 2 brings.
I really loved it. I found it quite hard to put down. I also didnt find the language and violence too bad, but I guess as most of his other books are very much YA then a lot of the readers of this might be young and therefore the violence might seem worse??
The only criticism I had with this book was sometimes the shift between the two timelines was a little jarring and not always clear on Kindle.
I loved, loved, loved the illustrations throughout the book. I almost feel this should now be compulsory in all books.
Im very much looking forward to the next book. Although im pretty sure there is no date for it at the moment.

I loved the illustrations so much too, Lel. :) I would keep reading until I came to another illustration and then take a pause if I needed to. lol I'm happy to have the hardcover and plan to collect the rest of the series now.
I read this mostly in hardcover but switched around between kindle and audio. I worried that I would lose some of the feel of the book but ended up enjoying all the formats.

I'm 20% in now and find it slow-going but only with the high page count and small print. I have to use my readers. lol I'm so happy I bought the beautifully illustrated hardcover. I'm really enjoying it so far but warning... it's very dark. Graphic violence, sex, language, all of it. Read Jay Kristoff's entertainging review to see how he describes his own book.
