I am here now. JUST finished. I don't ... I need more. But that is the sign of a good story, leaving you wanting more. It's mostly wrapped up but a story like this with a world this messed up can't have EVERYTHING wrapped up in a pretty little bow. I realize this.
All the feelings :). I can't discuss it without spoilers because it would be like: "I loved when... What do you think about.... and OMG, he' s ...." I just trully love the book. Have reread it several times. :)

Because I don't want to ruin the book. I am sure some people will read the spoilers and my spoilers really would be spoilers :D
Laura, I know oh my God where should we start?! The ending is actually unexpected IMO! I didn't see that coming! I'm as satisfied as I can be. It's the best conclusion to this series!!!
Jasmine and Zuzana, haha true! I'm afraid anything we say might be considered a spoiler. But we'll try to discuss it as spoiler-free as possible!
So, being as vague as possible - the ending. Happy yes, but SO SAD all at the same time, am I right? I mean, my heart broke when that thing happened to that character. After all the struggle to get the one thing and then to lose it ... If you want more clarification, pm me ;-)
I agree! But it makes so much sense, right? After rereading AF, WA, and EOD, I had a fast flashback of everything that happened to them and I realized the (view spoiler). I realized this series isn't about the one thing, but the other thing. The ending is fulfilling and heartbreaking, but justified in my opinion. ;)
What other thing are you talking about? And yes I agree, it proved a lot. A LOT. But it still broke my heart for that character. I mean ... yeah. And yeah it does make sense. In this kind of world there is no way to realistically make EVERYONE happy ever after with no problems and they lived peacefully forever and ever and had no more struggles and they all got everything they ever wanted amen. I just hope people understand that when reading. You know?
The other thing which is the proven something. (view spoiler)And yes, I've been thinking about that too. I hope it won't affect their judgment because seriously? It's the best possible ending to this series. I couldn't think of a better conclusion that's not too unrealistic.
What do you think of Raffryn scenes, by the way? I saw Susan RTed tweets about it so I think it's not a secret that there's a lot. ;)
Ails wrote: "ME TOO! I was fangirling the whole time!"Okay I know I should not be reading this thread (Ahhh its so irresistible - I want to find out what is going to happen!) so thank you for still keeping those spoilers in ! Can I ask one thing... is there likely to be any chance of another book later on perhaps or some short novel - is it open ended in other words!
sorry for being naughty in asking!
I can't wait for this one! I am so curious about the history between Raffe and Belial. (Please forgive my spelling if there are errors - I listened to the audios for these ones!
Laura *Little Read Riding Hood* wrote: "Umm, maybe? But probably not."LOL! Knew you lot wouldn't give anything away - well done! x
Mel wrote: "is there likely to be any chance of another book later on perhaps or some short novel - is it open ended in other words..."I agree with Laura, it's a "maybe" and "probabyly not." Penryn's story is set in a post-apocalyptic world that is so messed up, so while we find the ending as satisfying as it can be, we can also say it's not as close-ended as that of a fairytale's story.
It's unlikely that there'll be another book in the future. I'd say a novella is much more possible, if Susan is feeling up for it. ;)
I keep reading that the ending is predictable. PLEASE don't tell me that Raffe becomes human/never gets his wings back? That would be the worst ending. Ever. Nobody should give up their identity for love. Plus it would be too convenient and boring.I keep suspecting that there is more to Penryn than meets the eye. The wait is killing me!!
Olya wrote: "I keep reading that the ending is predictable. PLEASE don't tell me that Raffe becomes human/never gets his wings back? That would be the worst ending. Ever. Less than a month to go!
Ayesha wrote: "I'm curious, did you all get an ARC of End of Days?"I did.
And to answer the questions - kind of - (view spoiler)
Does that help? It isn't really much of a spoiler, I am not ruining the end of the book, but there is one thing in there (I won't say what) that some might consider spoiler-ish.

I second that.
It's not easy to guess but I think it must have something to do with Raffe's wings because of the book cover and that nifty countdown clock on Susan Ee's website. If the falling snowy feathers didn't imply the ending, what else could it be?

That was a really good teaser! Thank you! Unfortunately you are making me more apprehensive... And Susan did say Penryn was all human. But authors do tell a little lie on occasion so I wasn't sure haha.
I'd like to add though and not try to give anything away in answer-- both characters aren't equal. One has more to sacrifice than the other by far. So I like the idea but context matters of course.
I feel guilty for doubting Susan. :/

I'm pretty sure he will at least lose Archangel status which would be a shame. But I guess it's how he loses them and what he becomes that could be ok. Maybe his past catches up to him? The fact to consider is that he is ancient.
Another thing is that some felt like this book wasn't entirely "finished" which isn't a good sign. A good ending to a series leaves you satisfied. It's wrapped up. You miss the characters and wouldn't mind seeing them in a spin-off, but that's it. So I don't know.

Is it actually possible to tie up every single loose thread in a world like this? No. HOWEVER - is it possible to tie up the loose threads surrounding Pen and Raffe? These three books are really Pen's story. Not the story of everyone she meets along the way. So her story does get wrapped up, but not everything is in a pretty little package. This world no longer has pretty little packages. :-)

But it's like Shadowfever (if you guys read the Fever series). That's what I mean about a good ending-- it's wrapped up without a conclusive happy ending. And a good lesson learned because when people demanded the main characters again, it went horribly wrong.
I will say this - immediately after finishing it I was left wanting more and upset that it was over. However the more time I have to think about it, the more I agree it was the perfect ending to this series. How's that? :-)
Laura *Little Read Riding Hood* wrote: "I will say this - immediately after finishing it I was left wanting more and upset that it was over. I'll say this though. I like World After more than Angelfall. I think it's because we learn more about Penryn, but also there are more battle scenes and Angel shenanigans. Penryn and Pooky Bear are my favourite! Will we get more battle scenes in the finale? I think Penryn has a lot of potential to kick Angel butt, and I think PB has some more tricks up her sleeve.
So basically, I WANT THIS NOW. Also I think Susan said she will do a little novella or something of the sort.
The final battle is EPIC. I felt all the emotions. ALL OF THEM. At the same time. Even thinking back to it I almost want to vomit. From all the emotion overload. So if you like the battle scenes there are some great ones in this. And it's funny you say you like WA better than Angelfall, for me it is the opposite. I think because I went in not knowing what to expect at all and was completely blown away ... and with WA I had an idea of what was going to happen, if not the details.
I so desperately want this book now! You guys are killing me! Ha, I am re-reading AF and Wa at the same time to refer back to passages from the first in the second so I get a true understanding of all the nuances in the story. I prefer Angelfall to Wa I think because it is the start of their relationship. My take on EOD is also the clues that Susan gives us in the book cover, surely those wings can only mean one thing? But I really can't bear the thought of that happening. There needs to be a damn good reason, I really don't want an obvious HEA cop out but I know Susan wouldn't do that, right? I am so glad to hear you guys think the ending is satisfying and done well. I wouldn't expect less from Susan. So here's the thing, as you guys have read EOD WHAT DO YOU THINK WE SHOULD BE ASKING SUSAN in the next q & a? Do you think we will get anymore teases? There is a lot of sex talk about raffle and pen on one of the threads, ( a lot of hilarious conjecture!) without giving anything away do things get steamier in EOD? LOL!!!

Guys can someone make a chat room (I would but don't know how) called End of Days Theories (Warning may contain spoilers from pervious books) so people who haven't read End of Days can talk about what we think it will be about? I know we've had one but with too discussion groups called End of Days (Warning Spoilers) it's hard to tell which group is which and I can't click on one because I don't want to be spoiled. Thanks!!!!
It is clean YA so nothing obvious as far as sexy times. But she still gives us all the sexual tension we could want :-)
Laura *Little Read Riding Hood* wrote: "It is clean YA so nothing obvious as far as sexy times. IT'S OUT TODAY!!! Happy Book Birthday, EOD! And congrats, Susan! Thank you for sharing Penryn's story to us. <3
Question that's bothering me about the last book, and if anyone could point out the reference in previous books to help me out, I would be grateful. :) (view spoiler)

I feel like that could be delved further too. But... (view spoiler) I think there's some bout of Penryn being an unreliable narrator too. She imagined what Raffe might have done.

I'm agree with TheWitchReads. And I wish to add for myself that Angelfall was... a bit different in comparison with World After and End of Days. (view spoiler)
Paige was my favorite part of the book! Am I the only one who absolutely loved her in this book?? haha I just thought her (view spoiler) moment was so epic! I hope she gets a spin off
