Reading clockwork princess rn, i know what’s coming and I am not prepared.

per Whitechapel Fiend Jem (Brother Zachariah) has a permanent tracking spell on both James and Lucie. I can see how this could come in handy, especially with Lucie running away at the end of Chain of thorns
