November 2022 - Let's Party!

This prompt is all about parties — so have fun with it! It could be a murder mystery where guests are all invited to a dinner party, a children’s story featuring a birthday party, a book set at a grand costume party, or a romance novel featuring an individual who is part of a wedding party. Any type of party works for this prompt! You could also pick a book with balloons or another representation of a party on the cover, or the word “party” in the title. Alternatively, you might decide on a character who likes to party or who could be described as the “life of the party.”

I just finished The Babysitters Coven by Kate Williams for a book club. There were a couple of Halloween parties.

I wasn’t sure what to use for this prompt. I was going to skip my monthly BOTM, but decided to look again and saw that The Last Party was one of the choices. Perfect!!!

I'm also reading The Last Party, so it will fit for this.

I'm reading Fiber and Brimstone by Laura Childs. It's set in New Orleans which is considered party capital. I'm not finished yet and already the main characters have attended three parties: the Ballet Dracula backstage party, a Halloween Bondage party and Baby Fontaine's Halloween party.

Eta: One more party attended, a Howl-o-Ween party for her dogs.

I had started The House in the Cerulean Sea and I finish it today I am happy to say that there is a party!

I'm going to listen to The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley on audiobook!

I just read Rosemary's Gravy by Melissa F. Miller. It starts with a dinner party where the hostess is murdered and the caterer is the chief suspect.

I read The Dilemma by B.A. Paris. This book is set entirely around a party.
