The goal for the year is 52 books. All books are to be off my Library Wish List that currently has over 70 titles. I'll try to work from the oldest on the list to the newest, but there isn't really a specific order to how I'll read this year.

April 15 UPDATEThis year has been my year of "Did Not Finish." The first book was so upsetting that I couldn't finish it. Damned shame, too, because I hate-read the others in the series, annoyed with the story but wanting to know still what would happen next. Christmas Cake was unreadable.
I found Double Cross Crochet also unreadable. It was poorly written. DNF
One by One by Ruth Ware was excellent.
My next book was The Lost Art of Real Cooking, a spontaneous library pick-up. I found a crepe recipe I will employ for years using my sourdough starter.
I should have DNFed The Buried Giant. B ut I plowed through and regretted it. Not at all what I was expecting, and the ending was a great disappointment.
I DNFed Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell. It was too complex for me to try to sort out and follow.
Then there was a dry spell of several weeks. In order to not make it longer I pulled out an old favorite, the Echo Trilogy and got back on reading tracks again.
Pretty Dead Queens by Alexa Donne was, as expected, excellent.
Lincoln in the Bardo was strange and haunting. It will sit with me for a long time. The structure took some time to figure out, but the story gripped once the untraditional format was understood.
Tess, my beloved Tess of D'Urbervilles. I started it but stopped because this is not the time to reread one of my all-time favorites. Yet.
The Last Flight was good.
I couldn't make it through the Traveling Pants series. I'm not in the mood to sit with a bunch of 15 year old girls
An Unwanted Guest held my attention, and I enjoyed the thriller much as I enjoyed The Last Flight.
Now I'm reading The Power of the Dog. I can't say I like it, but I also am fascinated by the characters even though I dislike them. I'm 80% done and will finish it in a few days.
Next up is a non-fiction book that's been on hold for me from the library for months. I'll pick it up on Tuesday.
