YOU TURNED THE PAGE!!!!!!!!!!!hahahaha. I loved The Monster at the End of This Book so much! It was definitely one of my favorites. I also loved:
Put Me in the Zoo by Robert Lopshire
Spot wanted so badly to be in the zoo, but it just wasn't the best fit for him. He was much better off in the circus. And he ended up so happy! It was a great lesson. Sometimes we're better off not getting what we're hoping for after all. :-)
I was fortunate enough that my parents read to me every night. Without fail I would always want them to read Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?My mom knew it by heart that when I fell at preschool and needed stitches, she recited that book to keep me calm. I owe my love for reading to her <3

That's so sweet, Kaitlyn! I'm the same. My mom read to me all the time when I was little. I learned to read before I started school just by watching her move her finger over the words as she read. I also owe my love of reading and books to my mom. 💜
The Very Hungry Caterpillar! 🐛🥪🍦🍉🧀🥧🍰The illustrations were mouth watering LOL! to this day I want to have a party themed after this book.

Every week we would go to the library and I would sit on the cold stone floor to read it. The ending was always such a lovely surprise.
I have my own copy now and was looking at it only the other day.
Too many to list just one. In my childhood it was Enid Blyton's famous Five series and Adventure series. If I had to pick one book only, it would be "The Valley of Adventure" by Enid Blyton.
My faviour book,Little Women by Louisa May Alcott and Emma by Jane Austen
Like Melissa, I did enjoy Winnie the Pooh. One of my childhood nicknames was Piglet!

I had a children's set of the classics that included The Gold Bug by Edgar Allan Poe. It was made into an ABC Weekend Special in 1980. What a weird thing for an 8 year old to read and watch.

My favorite children's book was in Dutch, obviously. It's been long out of print, sadly. The title was 'De zoon van de woordbouwer' which means something as 'Son of the man who liked working with words'. I read it when I was about eight years old.

It looks like you weren't the only one to like it. Lots of good reviews.

The entire R.L. Stine "Goosebumps" series. "Where the Wild Things Are" is another good one! I've yet to watch the movie adaptation.

I remember loving the story of RUMPELSTILTSKIN growing up. Ihad the book and a vinyl record that came with it so you could listen to the story as you read along. I must have listened to it a thousand times. And my book was tattered from being read so much! ☺️
I prefer the old one with Helen Drinkwater. She was the best Helen Herriot. Christopher Timothy was great, too!
Christine wrote: "I prefer the old one with Helen Drinkwater. She was the best Helen Herriot. Christopher Timothy was great, too!"agreed - I was talking about the books - all four better than the PBS series.
I tried to read the books way back in the 1970's, but prefer the old TV series. It has so much charm.
Christine wrote: "I prefer the old one with Helen Drinkwater. She was the best Helen Herriot. Christopher Timothy was great, too!"We loved the old series (when it was new) and actually visited the Dales in an attempt to mimic the opening scenes - though unfortunately we didn't have a vintage car.

We spent 3 days in the Yorkshire Dales in 2019, but it rained for 3 days. We visited Askrigg where the vet office in the old TV series was located, we visited Castle Bolton (also mentioned in the early series) and I managed to take dozens of photos.
But as a child, it was Little Black Sambo. A kid running around a tree so fast to make a tiger turn into butter was the funniest thing I'd heard at 3 years old.
My favourite childhood books are the books in the Poldark series by Winston Graham
I also loved
-- Little Women
What age range are we talking about here? The Giving Tree might be one of the first books I ever got, whileThe Little Prince remains a favorite of all time.
