Does anyone else get stuck in the thought-block of “it’s not going to be good enough so I shouldn’t do it” and that sort of thing?

I honestly think the best thing is to not focus on the end product of writing in any instance. First, you have to remember that getting the words down on the page is literally the hardest part of writing - once you have that you can go back and edit and make it amazing, but you have to get the first draft out first. Neil Gaiman once said that the point of writing a second draft is to make it look like you knew what you were doing the whole time.
Second, the ONLY way you can improve is by practicing. Maybe this draft isn’t great, maybe even this project isn’t great - it doesn’t have to be! - but you will never be able to write something you actually think is good if you don’t work at it.
Just some thoughts that keep me going - it's not about what's in front of you now, it's about what COULD be there :)

Wow!
That's some really sound advice- great reminders.
I love it and you use dashes (which are so unserated lol)
I totally agree with Charlie. Most of the time I forget what the topic was but I know i should get something down. tbh it’s part of the fun for me the whole looking back and laughing at how what i wrote made no sense

Haha, thanks! Repping the hyphens! (Although I definitely overuse them and, looking back I think a lot of them are misplaced lol).

Lol yep! (Not at all- I use them ALL the time lol and you used them correctly.)
Just remember (when you're writing the first draft) that you can go back and do all the editing later. This has really helped me (I'm a huge perfectionist lol).
