Hey! I just finished my reread of Summer Fun, that's also how I found this group :)My next book is gonna be Und jetzt du, Orlando! (I picked it up at the bookstore yesterday, it was a damaged copy so i gladly took it home with me for a few bucks)
I'm currently reading Scout's Honor, just finished How to Keep House While Drowning which was excellent. I also devoured So This Is Ever After this month.
Hello! 2:30 am and I just started "how to bite your neighbor and win a wager" by D.N Bryn. It's lovely so far. If you are curious it's a slow-burn m/m vampire romance. <3
I've just finished Confessions of the Fox by Jordy Rosenberg, which takes the cult 18thC thief Jack Sheppard and makes him trans. A trans man narrator too in the present day. Having read a bit in 18th criminal pamphlets and popular lit, I enjoyed the period language, and the general anarchy in past & present.
I'm currently reading House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski and The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky :•) after I finish one of these I'm planning to read The Posthumous Memoirs of Brás Cubas
I just finished A Bitter Remedy, a wonderful historical mystery that's due to be released in March. Set in 1880s Oxford, the novel combines a wonderful cast of characters (both historical and invented) and a solid mystery with an exploration of the struggle to allow women to pursue higher education. The novel features two narrators: one a brilliant young woman allowed to attend lectures at Oxford with permission of the professor, of course, and Basil, a young Don who has to be continually on guard so no one will realize he's homosexual. My ***** review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
a hungarian bookMóricz Zsigmond-Sárarany
it's about a poor peasant man's obession with money and land and with getting things through women skirts ( it's for school)
and I'll read Cemetery Boys after that and I'm SO EXCITED!!!!
I'm reading How Far the Light Reaches: A Life in Ten Sea Creatures which is a really beautiful memoir organized in series of essays about marine biology. lot of discussion about being queer, trans, and a person of color in the sciences in addition to just being in the world. Also just finished Our Wives Under the Sea which i enjoyed a lot and is a deep sea horror novel featuring an incredible amount of sapphic yearning.
I just finished The First to Die at the End! It was so good!! Currently also reading Better Than the Movies and the Cruel Prince! I also recently found out I really like audiobooks!
Alex wrote: "I'm reading How Far the Light Reaches: A Life in Ten Sea Creatures which is a really beautiful memoir organized in series of essays about marine biology. lot of discussion about bei..."I was pleased to see that first work included in the monthly bundle recommendation that my library's collection development makes use of. The main patron base is very stodgy status quo when it comes to what they'll check out, so that kind of publication is perfect for introducing some necessary queerdom into their diet before they even realize it.
rn im reading: who i was with her by nita tyndall and this shit is so fucking devastating and i relate sm with corinne, im loving it so far. <3
I've just started My Dear Henry
a variation on the Jekyll and Hyde story, set in the same time period, but featuring Black central characters, including a gay pair: Gabriel Utterson and Henry Jekyll, who are medical students, subject to restrictions and demeanings not faced by their white counterparts. It's a lively, interesting read. It's a YA title, but I'm loving it, and I'm not really a big reader of YA lit. It's being released by Feiwell & Friends on March 3. Keep an eye out!
Hi! I am new here and I am Italian. I am currently reading Scheletro femmina by Francesco Cicconetti.
I don't think there is a translation yet, so I understand it could be niche, but if anyone can speak Italian I'd be happy to discuss about it.
I'm in the middle of a few books rightnow, but I am focusing on What If It's Us and Our Stories, Our Voices: 21 YA Authors Get Real About Injustice, Empowerment, and Growing Up Female in America
With Spring Training under way, the World Baseball Classic set to begin, and Opening Day a month away I am reading Baseball Comes Out: A Revolutionary Novel by Jack Saunders
My Dear Henry is a gripping YA novel that retells the Jekyll and Hyde story, keeping the setting in Victorian London, but featuring mostly Black characters and, at the center of it all, a pair of gay men: Gideon Utterer and Henry Jekyll. Whether or not you regularly read YA literature, if you like horror/fantasy/mystery/queer lit and/or lit examining issues of the impact of racial hierarchies, you'll find this book a deeply interesting read.My **** review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Baylan wrote: "Just read A Mage's Guide to Human Familiars and The Ghost Slept Over"AJ Sherwood writes crack so well! I always have such a non-stressful enjoyable time with their books! If you liked this one and haven't yet, you should check out How I Stole the Princess's White Knight and Turned Him to Villainy: Miracle 1 as well!
Read How to Kill Your Family by Bella Mackie. And The Catch by Mick Herron.Currently reading Millionaire Teacher: The Nine Rules of Wealth You Should Have Learned in School by Andrew Hallam.
