Lost in Shangri-La is a story about three survivors of a plane crash in New Guinea. Back in the World War II era New Guinea was unexplored and new territory. The survivors of the crash are left with little supplies, bad injuries, and are unfortunately unable to be rescued. Meanwhile, there are cannibalistic natives who have never seen white people secretly hidden in the jungle. I gave this book a 3 out of 5. The author uses a lot of background and historical information throughout the novel and after awhile you start to wonder why you are reading this, especially since I found that some of the stuff has no relevance to the actual story. I enjoyed the plot of the book, it was excited to read despite lots of information being thrown at you. I would recommend this book to readers who like adventurous or historical books.
