Hey sorry about the wait, had to finish my homework real quick :D So, would you like to do Halt and Will or our own characters?
I say we make our own (: I'll be the apprentice but ill switch it up a bit and it will be a girl who wants to be a ranger (:
Ooh... A girl! I feel like it would go against the laws of nature if I were to be a girl, so I'll be a guy :)
Okay (: Let's make characters. But let's start the RP at the choosing day :p
Yeah, that works. Just name and appearance? And where does this take place? I feel like it should be at Redmont, just because that's the place we know the most about.....

So I looked up Ranger's Apprentice on google images.... and this came up. This is just beautiful. There are no other words to describe it.
omg that's great x3 haha and yeah Name age appearance skills personality stuff like that (:
Name: Max PrideAge: 27
Appearance:
Height: 5'4
Hair color: Dark brown

Personality: Max appears to be cold and cut off from the world, but then again that's what's expected from a Ranger. Once you get to know him, you see that he's actually very kind and caring, and willing to do anything for those he considers his friends. He grows lonely of the Ranger way of life, which influenced his decision to obtain an apprentice.
Is this alright or am I forgetting something?

yay! it worked :p haha. let's start!
Penny shifted nervously from foot to foot. She was watching everyone get accepted into their preferred trade and she just hoped her request would accepted as well. She's been waiting till Choosing Day since she could remember.

Max stood in the back of the room, unnoticed to most. His eyes scanned the row of possible apprentices. He eyed one, a girl, and he couldn't help but smile slightly as he wondered vaguely if a girl would be accepted. Surely she would.
Penny's turn was next and she took a deep breath. The baron smiled at her"What would you like your trade to be young lady? Master Chubb is always looking for a bright new student"
Penny swallowed hard and held her chin up"I would like to be a Ranger, sir"
She reddened a little as the Baron's smile faded and the room grew silent.
The baron cleared his throag"Are you sure that's.... fit... for you?" He asked softly and Penny felt a sinking feeling in her stomach, her worst nightmare coming true.

Max watched in interest as the girl he'd been eyeing stepped forward. When she said she'd wanted to be a Ranger, his smile left and his eyebrows raised slightly. It was rare for someone to want to be a ranger. He stayed silent for another moment as the Baron went on to question her. He saw the expression on her face and made an immediate decision. "I'll take her." He said, gaining the notice of the people. He watched in amusement as several of them jumped, as they hadn't known he was here.
Penny didn't know what to do but then she heard the older Ranger say he'd accept her. She broke out into a giant grin but tried to hide her excitement. The baron quickly turned to him"Are you sure? its very....manly work..." He said quietly to Max
Max looked at the baron, raising an eyebrow at him. "Manly? Are you saying she can't handle it?" He glances over at the girl again, doing a quick up and down to do a visual assessment of her physical state. "She's in shape. Maybe not enough, but that can be fixed. She's got the build of a Ranger. I think she'll do fine, despite her gender." He said the last three words in a slightly mocking tone, though he made sure it was subtle.
The baron chewed his lip thinking. He turned to the excited girl in front of him and sighed. "Request granted... Report to Max in the morning"
Penny smiled and nodded eagerly "Yes Sir!" she said barely able to contain her excited bouncing. She backed out of line glancing at Max quickly before looking at the rest of her friends get accepted.

Max looks at Penny, his face blank so as not to show her what he was thinking. If she could tell, however, then she would know that he had high hopes for her. What he'd said to the baron about her not being in shape enough was true, but it wouldn't take long for that problem to be fixed. He'd seen her shooting, and she was a fairly good shot, nothing compared to the Ranger standards though. But that would be fixed as well. Giving a small nod to himself, he walked out and started toward his cabin.
After everyone was done they all went to a celebration feast but Penny only stayed long enough to congratulate her friends before hurrying to her room to pack. She hurriedly packed her things and grabbed her quiver and bow. She wondered if he would let her keep it. She traced the engraving design and smiled to herself. " ill make you guys proud, promise." She whispered. She gave her room one final look and walked out. She hoped he wouldn't mind her coming early. She wanted to start right away. She was almost out of the castle when she bumped into 4 older guys. They laughed amongst themselves and shoved her a bit "Going to go be a sneaky little brat huh? You almost didnt get to didn't ya? Does it suck knowing you'll never be equal to us?" the bigger one sneered in her face. She felt her anger rising but didn't show it. "Just let me through" she said trying to walk but they grabbed her and shoved her back again making her drop her bow
Max walked up to the castle, as he had some business to attend to, when he was stopped by a commotion a little ways away. Curious, he crept forward silently. He walked the length of the hall, turning a corner, then stopped at the next. There was definitely something going on, and from what he could hear, he didn't like it. He was surprised slightly when he heard one of the boys call someone a 'sneaky little brat.' A quick glance around the corner confirmed his suspicions that it was Penny. He watched for a moment to see if she would defend herself, then stepped in when she dropped her bow. It was obvious to him that she didn't stand a chance against the bigger boy. "Stop." He said quietly. "Walk away now and no one gets hurt. Wouldn't it be a pain if I had to explain a few broken ribs?"
Penny balled up her fists ready to throw a punch at him but she stopped startled at Max's voice. The other boys glared at him and backed away slowly. They glared at Penny letting her know it wasn't over and they rushed off. Penny brushed off her sleeves and picked up her fallen bow. She looked up at her new mentor slightly embarrassed"Thanks.." she said quietly. She hoped he didn't think she was weak and helpless.
Max glared at the boys until they went away, then turned back to Penny. He gave a small nod of acknowledgment, then jerked his head toward her stuff. "And what are you doing with that out here?" He asked. He guessed that she was going out to his cabin early, but he still wanted to have her confirm it. And, he had to admit, it was a little fun to tease her like this when he already knew the answer.
((By the way, I must tell you how freaking excited I am to do a Ranger's Apprentice roleplay.... I've tried in the past, but they never work out.....))
((I know right!!!!! Same c: And okay :O haha hopefully you'll be back sooner but its fine if you can't :p))
She bit her lip nervously "I just thought I'd get an early start..." She said quietly looking at her feet feeling small.

Max smiled slightly at her, sensing her discomfort. "Nothing wrong with that." He said. He reached out and ruffled her hair, something he was fond of doing to small children. "Well we might as well get a move on." He said. "I was going to talk to the baron, but he surely won't be mad if I skip one time. After all, it was to save you from some bullies." He started walking toward his cabin, expecting her to follow.
She grinned and quickly followed after him. "I probably could have taken them. But thanks. Again." She caught up and walked at his side. She straightened and copied his manner as he walked. She kept glancing at him to make sure she looked like him.
"Oh, I'm sure you could have." Max said. He walked along the path to his house, aware that she was copying his style of walking. He couldn't help a small smile curling the tips of his lips upward. Once they reached the house, he opened the squeaky door and stepped aside, motioning for her to enter first.
She walked in and looked around. It definitely was different but it had a comfortable feeling to it. She sat her pack down and leaned her bow and quiver against the wall next to the door. "It's quite cute" She said smiling at him.
Max raised an eyebrow. "Cute?" He echoes. "That's not exactly the word I would've used. He takes his cloak off, draping on a hook by the door. He then goes and sits down at one of the chairs by the table. "Are you hungry? You weren't gone long enough to really go to the celebration feast."
She hadn't stopped long enough to realize her hunger. "I guess I was to excited to eat. I really wasn't expecting to be accepted." She sat down softly in a chai across from him.
Max nods slightly, looking at her. "Understandable. But that wasn't really an answer. And why did you want to be a Ranger in the first place? Not that I don't applaud you, it's just that it's.... Rare, to say the least." He says.
"Oh sorry. I guess I am hungry" She said softly. "I guess I've wanted to be a ranger since I was little. My parents were killed on the way to visit friends in a town over and they were attacked by wargals... Killed for no reason... So I decided I wanted to protect people so no one else has to go through what I did." She sat back and closed her eyes for a minute"My dad is the one who taught me to shoot. He said I should be able to protect myself if the time came. Then two days later I found oh they were dead and I had to grow up in the ward. I can't remember things to well being so young Ive just always remember this is what I should do. "
Max looks at her, doing and saying nothing for a full minute. "I see." Is all he says when he did speak. Then he stood, making his way to the kitchen. He tossed a new log in the fire to heat the stove, then got out a pot. He threw in some ingredients, ending up with a soupy broth. Once he deemed it ready, he scooped it into two bowls, sticking a spoon in each. He walked back to the table, setting one down in front of her and sitting down with his own.
She sat in silence listening to him making supper. She looked up as he came in with the soup. "Thank you so much" she said as he sat it down
