Well, I have a 682 page book to finish (and I’m only on p. 117), but Shadowplay is up next!

What else are you reading at the moment?

I was reading Tetrarch: A Tale Of The Three Worlds by Ian Irvine, book 2 in his series called The Well of Echoes. Then I snuck in a quick mystery (read it in an evening just as a change of pace from fantasy), Sacred Clowns by Tony Hillerman.

Bu I’m excited to say I’m starting Shadowplay tonight!

I am the worst at reading other books between these in a series. I binge the series and get ahead of the monthly group reads, and then I go back and read those other books that have been calling me.

I moderate another group here at Goodreads & have books to read for our monthly discussions there, too, plus my own choices (like the Well of Echoes series & the Leaphorn/Chee mysteries by Hillerman).

But the main reason I intersperse other books between the installments of a series is I find I read more carefully & retain details a little better if I’m not just diving from one book right into the next. I enjoy each book more if I’m not just getting through it as fast as possible to get to the next one. It didn’t used to be an issue but I found after I retired and had more time to read, it was an issue for me.
