Nicholas Perez | 49 comments Hello all, there's a new-ish fantasy book that has been stuck in my mind but I can't remember its title. It is a secondary world/high fantasy. It is either YA with the characters being on the older end of the age spectrum or New Adult or Adult with teen protagonists. I cannot pinpoint the exact date but it's either go to come out this year or next year, OR it was released within the past two years. I know it's a wide range, but I think from 2021-2023 seems to be a firmer date range.

The cover is merely a young woman, from head to waist or head head to toe, but she's wearing some sort of long robe or dress (possibly some armor on top) which I think is a greenish color and her hair is long. I think there is some prevalent green on the cover.

In terms of the plot, I think it has 4 POVs, or at least 4 characters, two boys and two girls, and they're going into some tombs or caves and there is a warrior or king whose grave is within those tombs or caves. Please, help me if you can. Thank you!

Tatiana (tjmheart) | 3 comments The plot point of four protags, at least one of which is a girl, and the search for a tomb in caves sounds like The Raven Cycle series by Maggie Stiefvater. It’s YA fantasy but on the more sophisticated side, came out 2016 onwards with the most recent of its companion books coming out this year.

It's not The Raven Cycle series, but I have read that and I loved it. The book I'm looking for was more secondary world/high fantasy (I'll edit my original comment to add that)

Nicholas, can you tell us more about the plot or main challenge/ conflict?

Medieval fantasy setting?

I copied book details to the topic header. Feel free to edit it.

Thank you!

I think from the blurb that the book had a medieval-ish setting. I believe the four characters were entering the caves/tombs to find and confront some sort of undead king or warrior but each had their personal goal too. That's as much as I can remember.

It's not Gideon the Ninth; though I have read that and enjoyed it.

Juels | 3320 comments Maybe She Who Rides the Storm by Caitlin Sangster? The blurb mentions 4 teens drawn into a high-stakes heist in the tomb of an ancient shapeshifting king. Looks like there is a second book too, He Who Breaks the Earth.
