Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 271 comments If you like ‘A Christmas Carol’ by Charles Dickens, you might like this - or so I'm told: Immortality: This Is Probably a Novel

You are invited into a mystery and the world's best kept secret.

£0.77
$0.99
Ca$ 1.30
Aus$1.45
and similarly low-priced across the Amazon world. The paperback is also greatly reduced.

Why? The world is experiencing many problems including tough financial ones and the very least I can do is to offer a book at rock bottom prices.

Here's what it's about:

Chester, an investigative journalist, is in fear of his life and hides out in a remote part of New Zealand, 12,000 miles from Kate, the woman he loves. His quiet life is interrupted when a stranger knocks on his door and transports him to the world’s best kept secret. True to his training, he keeps a diary of his perplexing experiences, all of which he dismisses as impossible.

As his life becomes more alarming, his longing to see Kate grows. Yet how can he explain to her what he can’t bring himself to believe? After she reads his diary, she becomes his lifeline helping him to understand that he must warn others of the danger just like a lighthouse does.

Immortality This Is Probably a Novel by Anna Faversham

Dr Seuss said, "Reading can take you places you have never been before.” This book will take you to London, New Zealand and the Caribbean. It will also take you to places I'm 100% sure you've never been.

Currently 4.76 rating on Goodreads
(my thanks to reviewers)

Kathleen Buckley | 26 comments I enjoyed Immortality: This Is Probably a Novel very much for its originality and downright weirdness. The blurb doesn't really do it justice.

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 271 comments I'm hopeless at writing blurbs, Kathleen. I never know how much to give away! I'm so pleased you enjoyed it.

Kathleen Buckley | 26 comments Blurb writing is an art all by itself. After having gone through many, many blurb sessions with my publisher, I'm beginning to get the hang of it.

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 271 comments I also have trouble with the topic headings - as you can probably see! I'll have another think... ouch!

Kathleen Buckley | 26 comments Always something new to perfect...

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 271 comments Keeps us out of mischief, perhaps?!

Kathleen Buckley | 26 comments Ack, Anna! Do we need to be?

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 271 comments Okay... you've jolted me into saying it like it is: see the change in the topic title. That's really what the book tells us about. And... oh so satisfying. Now that's more than mischievous, yes?

Kathleen Buckley | 26 comments I am all for it. Bad guys should get their just desserts.

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 271 comments And the goodie gets the girl? Yay!

If only life were that simple.

Kathleen Buckley | 26 comments But sometimes one wants the comfort of a happy ending. Life doesn't always provide those.

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 271 comments I agree. Life can take us all to many different endings.

That's one of the reasons my books do have happy endings, somewhere to escape to if you fancy. Life and my books have ups and downs. Fiction in general? Well if I've invested in reading a few hundred pages, I really do hope, even expect, a happy ending.

You've made me reflect on your words 'the comfort, of a happy ending'. I think my trilogy ends like that together with reflection on what life is all about.

By the way, I do love your avatar. That hat! And the cat! Great. I like hats and cats.

Kathleen Buckley | 26 comments I agree I'm not a fan of books with unhappy endings. And thank you, I too like cats and hats (especially since they can be used to obscure one's face in a photo). Apparently readers also like cats, as my most recent, A Peculiar Enchantment, with a large black cat on the cover, evidently appealed to many.

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 271 comments A Peculiar Enchantment by Kathleen Buckley Beautiful. The book looks good too.

I also have a cat on a cover :o)

One Stolen Kiss and other short stories by Anna Faversham
This is my book of short stories. A friend sent me the cover, so I wrote a short story to fit! And this little kitty is a real angel. So cute.

Kathleen Buckley | 26 comments Cats pretty much rule covers.

Karin Yes, I do like it when the antagonist gets what they deserve if they aren't going to repent--who wants to see them get away with murder/robbery, etc?

Real life doesn't always give happy endings, of course, but I prefer my novels to have good endings.

Oh Immortality This Is Probably a Novel by Anna Faversham

has a happy ending, though the bad guys you'll meet have tales to tell that will explain why they've ended up where they are.

Here's a couple of comments from US reviews:

"Well paced story with wonderful characters and full of suspense and romance, too!"
"I found this unique novel so riveting that I finished it in one day! It was a fast-paced, enjoyable read."
