LANCE "BEX" BEXLEY

personality.
lance has always been held to an incredibly high standard by his family and most of his friends. despite being from america, his family is very influential family. exceptionally within the ministry. and his parents are pretty powerful when it comes to politics.
he's fiercely loyal to their family and friends; and loyal to his house as most slytherins are. everyone else comes both he does in his mind. it's not him being insecure, it's his way of making sure everyone is taken good care of.
he's very quick on his feet and he takes in all of his surroundings. he looks for details other people often miss and he's amazing at reading people.
morally grey, he doesn't believe in 'light magic' or 'dark' magic. it's the one who handles the magic who should be consider light or dark. but even then, someone isn't bad or good, only their decisions. and though his parents (and most of his family) supports salzar slytherin's ideology about muggleborns and pureblood superiority, he doesn't really care about blood status and he thinks it's more about the actual person than their blood.
lance is a reliable person and a strong leader. he leads with others in mind and he doesn't take over unless needed. he's sneaky and really good at lying and making up excuses that are believable. he is also very patient and willing to help people advance in life.
he can have has some serious golden retriever energy going on sometimes; he gets overly excited over little things and he can also be somewhat clingy and affectionate. though usually only around people he seriously trusts.
lance loves music and is actually really passionate about it. whenever he's stressed out or something's bothering him, he always heads straight towards. it doesn't matter what kind. he sings as well as plays the piano, guitar, and the drums. if none of his future jobs works out, he would love to be in a band or at least a musician.
wand + magical information.
lance's wand is made from willow wood; willow wood is an uncommon wand wood with healing powers, and the welder usually has some kind of insecurity (that they usually hide), willow wood wands also are very advanced and powerful when it comes to non-verbal magic. the core of his wand is a phoenix feather; phoenix feathers are capable of the greatest range of magic though they could be harder to wield, their allegiance is usually won and they can sometimes act on their own but lance doesn't really mind. his wand is 11 inches and it appears to be a light brown wand with a single soft green vine trailing along it.
lance's favorite class is definitely potions or charms. his favorite spell is homonculus charm which can detect anyone's true identity and location on a piece of parchment; used to create the marauder's map. he has a pet owl named bliss.
backstory.
lance was born in france while his parents where on a very important wizarding trip and then returned to america almost as soon as he was born. his parents definitely put on a good show for their fancy friends and for the world; they acted like they cared about him and they acted like they actually took care of him. but in reality, they didn't even really speak to lance.
since he was old enough to fend for himself, basically the age where he could walk, lance has been taking care of himself with the help of his family house elves. his parents never abused him but they would neglect him.
just before he got his hogwarts letter, lance moved away from his toxic family moved in with his aunt and cousin. his aunt was a famous inventor and his cousin would turn out to be the first witch or wizard to cross the atlantic ocean by broom.
when lance finally got his hogwarts letter, he couldn't have been happier. he loved magic and it was his life, almost literally.
his first year went by smoothly and at the start of his second year, he became one of the slytherin's chaser for their house quidditch team. and he immediately had a fan base and became pretty popular throughout the school.
people, despite him being in slytherin, generally liked him because he had traits from all the houses and people never though he was evil or 'dark'.
everything was great, while that is until his parents found him.

personality.
quinn can be decided as a gryffindor through and through. minus a couple traits here and there. he's righteous in his own way; meaning he believes in what he thinks is right and he doesn't usually listen to outside information or logic.
he's short-temped and reckless, he's got a short fuse and when he gets mad, his magic flares out and his attitude is definitely gross. quinn is also daring. he's always testing the waters and doing things that take a little more courage. but he doesn't seem to understand when he's stepping over the line.
on the bright side, quinn is nice. but on the slightly darker side, he's only really nice when you are of value to him or he can gain something. the only people that he's really nice to without conditions are his parents and lilith.
he's a real suck up to adults and teachers. and he makes sure to always turn in his work on time and he always makes sure to use the right amount of charm and kindest with the professors as well.
and lastly. quinn is really prideful and sometimes his pride matters more than anything else. but he also has a pretty big hero complex. he always needs to be the hero. but what he doesn't seem to realize yet, is that he's actually insecure and that he's actually the villain and not the hero.
wand + magical information.
quinn's wand is made from yew wood; yew wood is a rather rare wood. the wand of yew is reputed to endow its possessor with the power of life and death, which might, of course, be said of all wands; and yet yew retains a particularly dark and fearsome reputation in the spheres of dueling and all curses. wands hewn from these most long-lived trees have been found in the possession of heroes quite as often as of villains. Where wizards have been buried with wands of yew, the wand generally sprouts into a tree guarding the dead owner’s grave. the core of his wand is a unicorn hair. while these cores generally go against dark magic and bad decisions; it shows quinn's inter conflicts. his wand is 9 inches.
quinn's favorite class is defense against the dark arts, mostly because it is the most similar to dueling. his favorite spell is accio because he can summon anything he wishes. he doesn't have any pets as of now.
backstory.
quinn has always had what he wanted. he was the favorite only child due to a freak accident with his twin sister when they were born.
days after he and his sister were born, the hospital that they were born in got attacked. it was unclear whether or not the attack was coordinated but either way koa ended up dying.
and since then, everything has been handed to him on a golden platter and when he got his hogwarts letter and got sorted into gryffindor, it wasn't any different. his parents showered him in presents and gifts when they went to diagon alley to get his supplies for school. he was thrown into a never ending spotlight where he was always the star of the show.
but that all changed when he actually got too hogwarts. when he got to the magic school, he wasn't the best anymore. he wasn't the smartest or even the richest. he wasn't the strongest or even the coolest. he was just quinn. nothing special.
his parents didn't seem to care because he was the most prefect little angel at home, to his parents, quinn was everything.
after he got rejected from the gryffindor quidditch team, he became bitter. he would put on a nice act around the teachers and other adults, but the students knew he was bad news. every year he tried out for the quidditch team and every year he didn't make it. he was jealous and heartbroken.
that is, until he got with lilith. she was a new light in his life and he generally did like her. but when he realized lilith's best friend was one of the best chaser's in the school; he decided to stick around to make lance look bad.
by the time he realized how bad he actually had become, it had been to late for quinn.
