It is the one I am reading reading right now Finlay Donovan Is Killing It I expected some romantic chick lit rom-com and I am finding it more than that. I am only half way thru it but finding it quite enjoyable.
To Kill a Mocking Bird by Harper Lee. although on 'the list' in high school to read, I never read it. I selected other books. after deciding, I've avoided this classic for too long. I read it and the sequel. what a pleasant surprise to experience both books. heartbreaking, too. while we have made many technological advances, our humanity advances continue to lag. These books highlight the basic principles of we are all human. Yet we are living divided.
The Wishing Game by Meg Shaffer. It’s not a book I would have normally picked up, but I never pass on a specific book club’s book choices so I went for it. I loved it. A little Charlie & the Chocolate Factory vibe, but that’s what made it so much better.
“Lark Ascending” by Silas House. I keep thinking about it and in listening to interviews with the author, I’m fascinated with the way he talks about his book. Why he wrote it, his reason for choosing Ireland as the setting, about the dog and why he chose a beagle, and so on. I’m thinking about changing my rating for it to a 5⭐️because this book has impacted me so emotionally and it’s a real surprise to me for sure. A happy one!😊
