Dystopia Land discussion

Hi everyone! I've been thinking about this recently, mainly because of my author projects, but there seems to be a lot of variation in dystopian book covers out there. So, what screams 'dystopian' for you? I guess for me, its the overlaid dark colours with a significant symbol or pattern?

I like the dark colors as well, but to me, the title makes the difference. if you make the title name dark and scary, then people who like that genre would be attracted to it. For example, The Hunger Games, or The Giver and many more. These make people curious and interested to read it.

I like movie covers like Divergent for example, and vector graphics like skyscrapers in the background
