Hanner Bananer Hey! I’m looking to add more series to my to be read and I’m open to checking out anything! I usually like Fiction, thriller, adventure, mystery and/or romance books. Currently I’m reading two of Anne Bishops series and I love them. The Others is my favorite so far and I have just started The Black Jewels trilogy. What about you guys?

Bella(✨❤️Hopeful Romantic❤️✨) | 251 comments I have almost always loved the Warrior cats series almost as much as the Selection series by Kiera Cass and the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I would recommend all three series. The Warriors series is kinda for younger kids, but the Hunger Games and Selection is definitely for older kids. The Selection is for romance book lovers and the Hunger Games are just the best. I don’t have a favorite genre because I like a mix of books.

message 3: by Claire (new)

Claire Cobb (clairelouise93) I like everything minus nonfiction and historical fiction

message 5: by Hanner (new)

Hanner Bananer Thanks everyone! I’m not sure why GR made two posts of this but I’ll check those out. The Hunger Games came out when I was in middle school and I know so many people loved it. I think it’s finally time I read them! The Selection, too.

Bella(✨❤️Hopeful Romantic❤️✨) | 251 comments 😱😱😱YOU JUST SAID MY FAVORITE WORDS IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD!!!!!!!

message 7: by Zoe (new)

Zoe Truax (zoetruax) | 7 comments I have two favorite series. The first series is classic and it is the Knights of Pardaillan series by Michel Zevaco, a masterpiece of this style, simply magnificent.
The second series is the Blood Magic series written by Nora Roberts, a series that belongs to the fantastic. One of the best series I've read in this genre.

message 8: by Mary (new)

Mary Negoescu (marynegoescu) | 3 comments Hello everyone. my favorite genre is fiction! I simply love it

message 9: by Natasha (new)

Natasha | 1 comments My favorite series is The Prison Healer. It is a trilogy. My favorite genre is fantasy romance.

message 10: by Jessica (last edited Sep 02, 2023 07:06AM) (new)

Jessica Wood (jessicajesse) | 6 comments The Immortals Series 6 Books Collection Set Pack (Everlasting, Dark Flame, Blue Moon, Ever More, Shadowland, Night Star), by Alyson Noel
I absolutely loved this books, Alison Noles writing was good and I loved the way she put the story and made me fall in love with the characters.
Fantasy and mystery are my favorites

message 11: by Alena (new)

Alena | 3 comments Oh, goodness. So many.
Hunger Games (dystopian), for sure, and also by Susan Collins, Gregor the Overlander (fantasy).
Divergent is another great dystopian series.
I've listened to the entire Wings of Fire (fantasy) series of about 20 books twice now.
Currently reading through the Harbinger Series (fantasy?) a second time.
The Four Kingdoms and the Andari Chronicles are both fairy tale retelling series I loved.
The Looking Glass Wars (urban fantasy) are more a steampunk retelling of Alice in Wonderland.
The Ravenwood Saga (fantasy) and Red Winter (Japanese folklore fantasy) are two I stumbled on and was surprised to love. You HAVE to do the audiobook for Red Winter, though. It's on Hoopla if your library uses that.
Younger kids fantasy (did you notice I like fantasy?) that are great are Castle Glower and Serafina.

message 12: by Victoria (new)

Victoria Williams (victoriawilliams) | 27 comments For me,there is not only the favorite genre or series...
It would be unfair if I limited myself to one example, when everything I choose to read fascinates me!
It would mean closing my Universe alone...I fondly remember every book I chose to read!
I remember with such happiness the moments when I read the Twilight series, by Stephenye Meyer, I was still in high school ... it was a delight... It fascinated me! Also I love books and authors of the moment...who deserve all the praise and all the respect! ✨
And last but not least, I love author which come from long times, with creations charged with energy of the moment...true beauties!
These are just examples, because the list is endless...I believe that the right story appears at the right time to bring us something...priceless gifts!
I love and respect the wonderful world of books!♥️

message 13: by Ian (new)

Ian Houston | 33 comments Always been a big fan of fantasy and sci-fi. I will never stop recommending Robin Hobb’s entire body of work, or Ursula K. Le Guin, or Lois McMaster Bujold (who writes brilliantly in both genres!). I could go on and on, but J. Gregory Keyes, Waterborn and The Blackgod, might be my all time favorite pair of books ever written. Absolutely gorgeous prose that is a joy to read, set in a unique, dark fantasy world.

Bella(✨❤️Hopeful Romantic❤️✨) | 251 comments I agree with basically everything everyone's said here.

message 15: by Ann Marie (new)

Ann Marie (annmariemandile) | 2 comments I think the only series I read was Harry Potter many moons ago but I'm not terribly interested in series. I like fiction, thrillers, horror but as in A Head Full of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay, not Gothic horror. most of all I like unique books like Piranesi and Chain Gang All Stars by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah. My favorite is anthologies and short story books.

message 16: by LilMisGrayBrisk (new)

LilMisGrayBrisk | 589 comments These are the series I’ve read at least twice:
Harry Potter by JK Rowling

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Bella(✨❤️Hopeful Romantic❤️✨) | 251 comments THE HUNGER GAMES ARE THE BEST!!!

Leondra Monique Shanks (purpleprincess1) | 5 comments I'm A Legal/ Psychological Thriller Girl Myself So I Read A Lot Of John Grisham, James Patterson, And Of Course Michael Connelly's. I Love The Lincoln Lawyer Series

message 25: by Kyle (new)

Kyle (lune_poet) | 8 comments I love horror novels... the weirder/crazier, the better

message 26: by Beth (new)

Beth Deese (bethdeese) | 4 comments A super underrated series is the The Seven Sisters series by Lucinda Riley. Each book is about one of the adopted sisters in a family group. Their benefactor/ adopted dad mysteriously dies and leaves each of them a letter with clues to their birth families. Each girl is named after one of the stars of the seven stars in the Pleiades constellation. The writing is fantastic and each book could standalone but the stories all work together. They are historical fiction mixed with mystery and a little bit of romance too. I loved them!

message 27: by Bitaniya (new)

Bitaniya Dereje | 1 comments I think you might also want to check out the darkest star series by Jennifer L. Almentrout

message 28: by Sunae (last edited Sep 03, 2023 02:17PM) (new)

Sunae | 8 comments I rater not have a Favorite, different Storys provide different Value.
I guess excluding Graphic Novels, I am drawn most to Storys whit a good Atmosphere, specifically something like Victorian Britain.
Im a Fan of Adventure, and more classical Sci-Fi, but I can deny, some of them are quiet dry, and have a Racism, and classism Problem.
Alternatively Mysterys, like Murder Mysteries get my Attention.

I would like to include Horror as well, because I absolutely adore the Atmosphere of certain Horror Settings, but actual Horror scares me to much.

message 29: by Beth (new)

Beth Deese (bethdeese) | 4 comments What’s the best way to comment back to someone in this thread? I’m new to the Goodreads groups and now sure how to navigate well. Ian, I am getting ready to start the Robin Hobbs books.I love fantasy and I keep seeing folks recommending her work! I’m excited to begin. Any favorites of hers I should start with?

message 30: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (bookish_journeys) Easily Earth's Children Series, it's Historical Fiction.

message 31: by Christina (new)

Christina Pearson | 1 comments I have been reading the Rachel Hatch series by LT Ryan. It is a good easy read, about Rachel Hatch. She is a bad ass and can’t walk away from a fight because of the code she lives by. It is a good crime series.

I also have read Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles, Mayfair Witch and Mummy series. Excellent reads!

JD Robb’s Death series is another great read about Dallas a bad ass cop the fights for the dead.

Nora Roberts also has some good series about witches as well. I just started The Cousin O’Dwyer Trilogy and I am waiting the release of the book in the Dragon Heart Legacy. She is a very good writer and an easy read.

message 32: by LoveBooks (new)

LoveBooks (httpssavepalestinecarrdco) Boys of Tommen series !!!
I LOVE THIS SERIES SO MUCHHH 💖
U should immediately read it, u will not be disappointed 👍

message 33: by Jo (new)

Jo Daneman | 18 comments I just finished the "Silo" series of Hugh Howey. I'm kinda sentimental about it because he contacted me years ago with a digital book that was going to be released e book only and self published (usually crap ) but it was terrific. I re-read "Wool" and then the two sequels Shift and Dust. Wool is still the best of the three but it's great sci fi in all.

message 34: by Jo (new)

Jo Daneman | 18 comments Also reading again all the Smiley Series of John Le Carre. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy remains my favorite but "The Spy that came in from the Cold" can't be beat for suspence.

message 35: by Christy (new)

Christy | 5 comments I could never pick a favourite out of all the series I’ve read. If you commit and read a whole series of books then you must be really enjoying what you’re reading.

My go to genre for a series would be fantasy. I like to be transported out of the real world!

message 36: by Kurryreads (new)

Kurryreads (Kerry) (kurryreads) The Cemetery of Forgotten Books

message 37: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Tirpak (bluebookin) | 2 comments I grew up reading the Harry Potter series as they came out, so of course that is going to be a favorite! I still re-read them often. I think it's great that it has gotten so big, but I haven't put time/money into any type of collection besides the book set, but I do appreciate the world that was created and the stories never get old for me.

message 38: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Tirpak (bluebookin) | 2 comments Also the vampire Argenue chronicles, ie: Single White Vampire, Tall Dark and Hungry, etc by Lynsay Sands is a great series! Romance, mystery, humor, and vampires with a very plausible explanation. Each book is about a different vampire in the family, whether it's someone being turned or or someone in the family finding their life mate. They are good as stand alone books or in order to get the whole family tree.

message 39: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 130 comments A series would be difficult to chose, but I love all things dragon and some of the vampire stuff. TRUE BLOOD was a good series of books, so sexy, but I watched the series on television and already had them in my head looking the way they did on TV. I usually like to read the book first.

message 40: by Frances (new)

Frances | 1 comments It’s hard to choose just one series, I would say for overall romance I love the This Man series by Jodi Ellen Malapas. For fantasy and romance I have to go with ACOTAR. For dark romance I’m torn between Haunting Adeline by H.D Carlton and the L.O.R.D.S series by Shantel Tessier. My favorite genre is romance but I am trying to branch out into other genres.

message 41: by Sandra (new)

Sandra | 1 comments I read all of Anna Jacobs books and her series of books are really good, my favourites is Traders series Grey ladies and The Honey field series. Amelia❤ | 9 comments Fantasy and don't have one ;)

message 50: by Pisces51 (new)

Pisces51 Hi, This is a complex question because my favorite book series is not in my favorite genre. My favorite series is by Karin Slaughter and I would like for the Grant County Books and The Will Trent Series to be considered as one series. If not, I pick The Will Trent Books. I have to include my second favorite book series The Jonathan Stride Series by Brian Freeman. Genres are Psychological Thrillers and Police Procedural for the Stride Books.
My favorite Genre is Horror.
