ughhh I love this book so much!!!(reading for a second time rn) Reopened my hunger games obsession again 😅

Wasn't a fan of this book. I love the Hunger Games trilogy, but the third-person writing style in this one felt so dry and impersonal in comparison. I couldn't help but wonder how much better Sejanus or Lucy Gray's narrations would've been instead of Snow's.

I enjoyed the movie a lot more than I expected to though.

Tarria, i completely agree! i found the third person writing style an interesting choice when the original trilogy was in first person…

if it was in 1st person, we would have thought it was Katniss.

I LOVEEEE this book, despite all the hate it gets. I just even bought another copy in the new covers that were released. I understand it’s different than the original trilogy but I personally really do think it was a well written book and love all the references. I think that really some people were mad that snow isn’t as much a product of a bad situation (kind of is?) but the fact that he has always been cruel inside, I think works for his character. And THE ENDING
