I started this book a little over a week ago...or maybe it was more like two weeks ago. The writing isn't dry, which is what I typically expect with translations. I'm having to reference chapter summaries through GradeSaver.com prior to reading the text. It helps me understand, a little better, what's going on. So far I've wanted to laugh in parts that, after I think about what happened in those parts, makes me feel kind of "evil." :p I'm not sure that they're supposed to be funny, necessarily. I don't know.
I've just started this book and so far I'm really enjoying it. I've read a few books translated from Russian this year and I'm very impressed with how easy they are to read. Not at all what I was expecting :)
Omg, what a thoroughly outstanding book! I really enjoyed this story. I tried not to read it too fast in order to savour every part. It has a weird but wonderful humour and a vast array of interesting characters who all intermingle with amazing skill from the author.
I definitely recommend this book and will read it again myself many times :)
