ooo it is!! i recently finished iron flame and it was good too, i’m excited that there’s gonna be 5! yaaay
If you are interested in queer romance series, anything by Alice Oseman, Rebecca Albertalli, or Adam Silvera is good. If your interested more in fantasies, I don’t know if any queer ones yet because I’m more of a romance novel reader, but I’m reading the black prism series right now, and I’m enjoying it.
Thanks for this! I haven’t been able to find any queer fantasy books and I really want to read some and recommend to my friend who’s a bit more into fantasy than I am
Say 'queer fantasy' 3 times and I am summoned. If you like historical romance try: Mortal Follies by Alexis Hall
If you like sci-fi (with a bit of goriness) try: Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir
and if you like short stories: The Singing Hills Cycle by Nghi Vo
and not fantasy but as a fellow romance novel reader, try Infamous by Lex Croucher. or anything by Lex Croucher she is great. or anything by Alexis Hall.
oh im also reading an emotion of great delight by tahereh mafi. its supergood and she also wrote a very large expanse of sea. two amazing books!!!
A good book I've read, and I think would be really good, is 'The Sunbearer Trials' by Aiden Thomas. It's Percy Jackson meets The Hunger Games, and is really good with the world building.

I concurr, Alexis Hall and Lex Croucher are queer romance royalty.
I'm not a huge fantasy reader but recently read and loved the Carry On books by Rainbow Rowell. Reading them felt like a reclaiming of those famous wizard books by She Who Shall Not Be Named. But it's not just a queer re-hash... it's a beautiful stand alone work in itself.
It's more sci-fi but Becky Chambers Monk & Robot books I also really enjoyed.
Here's a couple that I have read with queer rep that I would recommend! You're Not Supposed to Die Tonight
What Moves the Dead
Dark Rise
I'll Give You the Sun
Red, White & Royal Blue
Carry On
if you're looking for more explicit romance I concur that f.t. lutkens and lex crouchers so this is ever after and, gwen and art are not in love (respectively) are both very good !!!! think middle ages meets merlin meets gay, lotsa gay !
Im just gonna go cray, in here and give a long list of my fav LGBGTQ Books i've read, and rec < 3Seven Dirty Secrets By Natalie D, Richards isnt inheriently gay by itself although one of the side characters is, and i love him with all my heart, Aiden suprimicy
Suicide Notes By Michael Thomas Ford has to be one of my fav gay reads, not only bc i am uh slightly menally ill and can releate a little but also becuase of the sequel
Every Star That Falls By Michael Thomas Ford, this book is literally so cute, practically 400 pages of fluff and i still wanted more.
For The Fans By Nyla K, is pretty good a little out of my typical genre read, but i liked the characters and thought the story wasd cute, i swear im not a weirdo she just wrote them good.
They Both Die At The End, is an obvious choise i just love it, broke my heart but 10/10 although im too scared to read the prequel yet even though i preordered the sequel.
The Pledge By Cale Dietritch was really good, and i loved it, read it i need to yap to someone
Body Count by Codie Crowley, isnt out yet but its a sapphic slasher thriller, and i just know it'll be good
Hope you enjoy? my list, and yapping < 3
I'm currently reading Every Exquisite Thing by Laura Steven, it's a retelling of The Picture Of Dorian Gray and I LOVE IT!Radio Silence by Alice Oseman is also another one of my favourite reads :)
One of Us Is Lying by Karen M McManus also has a gay main character!

I've added a few to-reads to the bookshelf, and I thought it would be cool to have a discussion for it as well!
If you've read any great books recently, add them here or to the bookshelf
