Melody (melodyseestrees) | 14 comments It is taking me forever to read it but I am going through The Color Purple Collection The Color Purple Collection The Color Purple, The Temple of My Familiar, and Possessing the Secret of Joy by Alice Walker
If I finish that up I've got one of Michelle Obama's books as a backup option. If anyone has recommendations for other books I will happily take them.

Jessica (jessicathebookaddict) | 3 comments Currently reading The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot... Already a little over 100 pages in, but I had to put it down multiple times due to anger and heartache for her and her family 😔💔

message 8: by Kacey (new)

Kacey | 2 comments I read “Honor” by Thrity Umrigar. A Diverse read. All the blank history books I wanted to read were unavailable.
Sad and amazing story about women in rural India and honor killings by family members. Truly a love story too.

Tawallah | 26 comments Seeing this quite late

Books started
Island Queen x
The World We Make x N.K Jemisin

Started this week
A Long Way Gone x Ishmael Beah

Feel like I’m unintentionally reading from all over the African diaspora. And all were quite sad tales. Need to work on reading more joyous stories.
