I think the most interesting bit must be Fleming introducing a jaundiced, jaded Raymond Chandler to Lucky Luciano to try to get him interested in writing again.
Oh well. Fleming certainly was a man's man --that much is clear -- he certainly stomped the terra.
Unfortunately on Goodreads, the reviews of this work --and reviews of Fleming himself --are overwhelmingly critical. Withering scorn is always laid at his door by droves of groupthink/conformists.
All the more reason for this reader's group to remain in existence.
