A Psalm for the Wild-Built is a cozy science fiction novella about a monk in a future where robots gained consciousness and decided to leave human civilization behind. The monk feels like something is missing in his life and he embarks on a journey of self discovery to find out what it is. On his journey he runs into a robot who has come to find out how robots can help humanity.

This was a sweet little, philosophical story. The monk and the robot are interesting characters and I really liked their friendship. There were definitely times in my life that I felt like the monk and also times when I was like the robot, simply finding joy in the moment. I am curious where the author takes this in the next book in the series. Overall, I liked the story and the characters and it was a nice palate cleanser of a book.
