Karin | 9380 comments I decided to read this because if I was going to read fantasy it has dragons, and also I thought I'd try Christian fantasy, but this is no more Christian than the Narnia books. It's an allegory with zero references to God or theology. At first I liked it but it gradually went downhill for me and also I thought it was 50+pages too long and there were a number of things I disliked. In addition, using a Fae prince as an allegory for Jesus fell flat for me; I do get where they get the dragon part, but I wasn't impressed. However, I only loved the Narnia books as a child. This book is y/a but for an older age than those.

That said, it's not terribly written and I can see that some people would really like this, particularly teens.
