Oh wow. That is much larger selection than mine. I've yet to read these, with the exception of Enderverse

Khaled (kseriousr) | 8 comments Tried reading Ender's Shadow series too. First one was good. The rest, not so much.

Salman Titas (smtitas) | 49 comments The next two weren't that bad, in my opinion, but they lost their charm after the third book.

Sinistre Imrul (iqkhan) | 4 comments Read the first one, Ender's Game. Wasn't bad but didn't feel enough attraction to continue that series. I guess you've already read Isaac asimov's Foundation series and Robot series. If you haven't already, then get started. Those two series are the best I've ever read counting any genre. Other than that you can try Arthur C. Clark's Space Odyssey series which was quite famous but after Foundation and Robot series it seemed average to me. Also there is Frank Herbert's Dune series. I haven't read that one yet. Plot summary seemed intriguing though. Anyway that was my favourite. Everyone else please share yours

Oh yes, it would be a shame if I called myself a fan of science fiction without reading the Foundation and Robot series. Read the first book in Space Odyssey series, and haven't started on Dune.
Otherwise, I read a lot of Bengali Fiction by Md. Jafar Iqbal.

Salman Titas (smtitas) | 49 comments Anyone read the Old Man's War series?

message 9: by Khaled (new)

Khaled (kseriousr) | 8 comments Read upto the third one, "colony". Zoe's tale is still on pending.
Dune gets a bit boring after the first one. I read the original series and only upto the fifth one, "Heretics". As for "Foundation", those have been rotting on my bookself for years now, never got to start. I am a big Jules Verne fan though. And some of my reads, I'm not quite sure if SF or not. Like "The Giver", "Divergent", "Delirium", "Golden Compass", "Outlander", "Red Mars". They all have mix elements.

Did you guys read any contemporary SF that you enjoy, released in this decade?

You should atleast read the next two after Ender's Game, it gets way better, with more a series and mature tone.

message 11: by Salman (new)

Salman Titas (smtitas) | 49 comments I agree there. I personally enjoyed Speaker For The Dead more than Ender's Game, though I'm sure many would disagree.

To be honest, I've been avoiding the SFs of this decade. Can't say Hunger Games, Maze Runner or Divergent really appealed to me.
