Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 516 comments Omg I have to go look!!! Woo hoo!

message 3: by Teah (new)

Teah | 1 comments I picked Honey!

message 4: by Randi (new)

Randi (zozopuff) | 9 comments I'm definitely going to get Honey by Isabel Banta since I've read both the Britney Spears and Paris Hilton memoirs this last year, so it feels like it's coming to me at a great time lol.

message 5: by Tonya (new)

Tonya (tonyaf) | 29 comments I prefer the months when we have more main picks (and more genres!) to choose from, but I picked Honey. It's a debut and I need more of those for the reading challenge!

Honey by Isabel Banta The Reappearance of Rachel Price by Holly Jackson The Return of Ellie Black by Emiko Jean

message 6: by Andrea (new)

Andrea | 14 comments I removed The Return of Ellie Black from my box and replaced it with A Talent for Murder because I like Peter Swanson. But then I felt disappointed with the switch when I found out it is the third one of a series. Not sure if I will end up just reading it as a stand alone or track down the first two to read first.
Also got Margo's Got Money Troubles - have seen good reviews on it.
How To End A Love Story
The End of October - a Sci Fi book from 2020 (I try to select an older book every month along with the new releases.
Volume O - they got me with it being reprinted after it was sold out. Curious about the hoopla.

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 516 comments I'm unsure which one's I'll get but I won't decide until we get back from our trip on June 16. What I do know is that I already read The Kind Worth Killing WAY back in 2017 and I LOVED it! Of course, now I don't remember it but I read my review so I'm planning to read the 2nd in the series today, The Kind Worth Saving and I'm going to buy A Talent for Murder. So I'm pretty sure I'll get these:

A Talent for Murder (Henry Kimball/Lily Kintner, #3) by Peter Swanson The Lion Women of Tehran by Marjan Kamali

I'll most likely get the others for June as well, except probably not Honey by Isabel Banta because I don't even know who she is. lol Never heard of her before.

For Honey, do you mean you don't know the author? Or the character of the book? It's a debut novel and if I read it correctly, the character is fake and it's supposed to be like, historical fiction vibes but in our more recent memory than say, 1901. 😊

Sorry, that was so ambiguous. lol I meant I don't know the POP STAR but evidently I misread it, I guess. I thought it was a memoir so I might've confused it with another book...not sure. lol

Ilsen | 50 comments I skipped this month. I just wasn’t feeling any of them but I’ll look out for reviews for Honey by Isabel Banta I just didn’t want to get it because I wasn’t sure if it will ever hold up to the likes of Daisy Jones and the Six.

message 11: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 516 comments I'm home from our vacation to Utah and sight-seeing several National Parks, so I finally ordered my books today and got these:

A Talent for Murder by Peter Swanson Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren Margo's Got Money Troubles by Rufi Thorpe Middle of the Night by Riley Sager

message 12: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 516 comments I want to order some audiobooks, but I'm concerned that I won't know how to download them. I have a Kindle app but not a Kindle, so I don't want to waste money.

message 13: by Trisha, lives on coffee (new)

Trisha | 1984 comments I actually think you use the BOTM app in order to listen but I don't know for sure, since I've never gotten their audio!

message 14: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 516 comments OK, thanks, Trisha. :)

message 15: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (thehispanicbookworm) | 338 comments I skipped this month but requested A Talent For Murder from my local library. I'm trying to skip so I can catch up on all the BOTMs I have on my shelves but also order from the library so I'm still in the loop of current selections lol

message 16: by Trisha, lives on coffee (new)

Trisha | 1984 comments That's a good idea, Vanessa! I'm so behind in my BOTM picks! lol

message 17: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Hutchinson | 86 comments I noticed you guys were talking about the audiobook part of the BOTM app. I've gotten a few audiobooks from BOTM and honestly, I don't think it's worth it. You do listen to them right on the app but I wish there were another way because the app is terrible. It doesn't hold your spot when the app is closed, even when you place a bookmark, and it closes the app when you get a phone call or notification so you're constantly trying to find your spot. I reached out to customer service about it and got literally zero response. I also see others talking about those same issues so I am not sure they've fixed anything yet. I actually ended up ordering the hardcover version of all the audiobooks I purchased from BOTM because it was beyond frustrating trying to make the app work. I don't want to discourage anyone but I also don't want anyone to waste their money or time.

message 18: by Trisha, lives on coffee (new)

Trisha | 1984 comments Oh no! That sounds super frustrating - and keeping a record of where you are seems like a basic feature it should definitely have!!

And they didn't respond? yikes. What a horrible response, too.

I'm glad you ended up getting the hard copy so you can at least enjoy the book!

I'm so sorry you dealt with that but SO glad you shared that! I definitely won't be purchasing the audio versions!

Elsa Carrion (ecarrion) | 716 comments Jennifer,
You might try them again with your concerns. I've contact them several times with issues or questions and they have responded fairly quickly.
