message 4: by Tonya (new)

Tonya (tonyaf) | 29 comments Sometimes they have months where I struggle to find a pick that I want and sometimes I want all the picks. This month is one of those months where I don't have enough room in my box! I went with:

The God of the Woods by Liz Moore The Lost Story by Meg Shaffer Incidents Around the House by Josh Malerman All the Colors of the Dark by Chris Whitaker The Ornithologist's Field Guide to Love (Love's Academic, #1) by India Holton

All of these were on my radar except The Ornithologist's Field Guide to Love. I hadn't heard about it but it sounds so cute that I had to add it. It kind of gives me Emily Wilde vibes!

A Thousand Times Before and a few others went on the TBR.

message 5: by Trisha, lives on coffee (new)

Trisha | 1984 comments I agree! The Ornithologist's Field Guide to Love wasn't on my radar at all! I might have to add it next month, it really does sound super cute!

message 6: by Elsa (new)

Elsa Carrion (ecarrion) | 716 comments I went with

The God of the Woods by Liz Moore The Lost Story by Meg Shaffer All the Colors of the Dark by Chris Whitaker Incidents Around the House by Josh Malerman and Bear by Julia Phillips

message 7: by Julia (new)

Julia Sierra | 16 comments I have the same problem. I want them all. I got Incidents Around The House, The Lost Story and The Ornithologist's Field Guide to Love. I usually do not read romance but because it has a magical element to it, I just went for it. So excited.

message 9: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 516 comments Trisha, if you have 2 accounts (lucky!) do your boxes come out to about $100 or do you get a discount for having more than one. Also, do you have to put the 2nd one in a different name?

message 10: by Trisha, lives on coffee (new)

Trisha | 1984 comments Yes, both boxes this month was just under $50 each.

and Yes, I had to put the second one under another name, email and payment source.

message 11: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 516 comments Okay, thank you. :)

message 12: by Julia (new)

Julia Sierra | 16 comments Seen this on YouTube. Book Club pick from Jenna Bush. Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cP972...

message 13: by Julia (new)

Julia Sierra | 16 comments ugh sorry the link didn't work for some reason. Here is the search description: Jenna Bush Hagar reveals July 2024 book club pick".

message 14: by Amy (new)

Amy (amykristin) | 1 comments I’m getting House of Glass. I needed to resist more. I just got 27 books from our library sale.

Elsa Carrion (ecarrion) | 716 comments Trisha wrote: "Yes, both boxes this month was just under $50 each.

I use the same payment source for my second box since at first it was a gift from me to my daughter. So the payment can be the same for multiple boxes, you just need different email addresses.

message 16: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 516 comments I’m curious what everyone does with their books once they are finished with them. I have so many books! I’m not a hoarder, but I feel like a book hoarder! I have a hard time getting rid of my books but at the same time as I keep adding I necessarily need to get rid of books, but I just don’t know what to do with them.

message 17: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 516 comments I think we have one in town somewhere. I'll have to research that.

I use the same payment source for my second ..."

oooh, that's lucky. I tried that but BOTM kept giving me an error code so I had to change it.

I have a little independent book store in the small town next to me and they sell new and used. I turn all my books in there and they really love it (and love me! lol We're on first name basis!)

I also donate to my library because they have library book sales and are always taking donations.

message 20: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 516 comments That's a great idea, Trisha! I also thought about calling the librarian at the high school I taught at and donating to them. I know she would LOVE the added books. But I kind of hate to donate NA type books and I can't always remember how much foul language and graphic sex scenes are in them. I don't think I really have any physical books like that though, and there's no way to get away with no F-bombs and sex scenes.

message 21: by Amy (new)

Amy Harrington | 16 comments I sell my books on Pango. I started doing it about 6 months ago and have made about $150. It’s not a lot of money, but I’m happy that my books go where they’re wanted. And it supports my book buying habit.

I used to drop my excess books off at the Little Library in my neighborhood, but I was filling it up, and they were rarely taken out. I didn’t like that so many great books just sat there month after month.

I also give them away to friends and family.

message 22: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 516 comments I haven't heard of Pango before, but I'll look into that. Thanks, Amy. :)

message 23: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 516 comments Why is it SO hard for me to pick! I want nearly all of the books on their website! lol

For July I just finally chose these:

I've given some to Goodwill's..others I put on my pango account. I have some I've had up for a good while now that I may take down and either give to Goodwill or put in Little Free Libraries close to where I live.

message 29: by Elsa (new)

Elsa Carrion (ecarrion) | 716 comments for my second box

House of Glass by Sarah Pekkanen Middle of the Night by Riley Sager Husbands & Lovers by Beatriz Williams The Ornithologist's Field Guide to Love (Love's Academic, #1) by India Holton The Same Bright Stars by Ethan Joella

They haven't added any new books since the beginning of the month. So no new add ons' as of today.

message 31: by Kristen (new)

YAY!! Welcome to BOTM! I hope you love your first pick!!
Getting your first box is so exciting! Even getting my boxes after so many years, it's just as exciting as when I first started! I love my subscription!

message 33: by Ilsen (new)

Ilsen | 50 comments I ordered mine pretty late. I now know why they have that deadline for the 21st. It’s because any later and it won’t ship in July anymore. Mine is basically getting there at the end of the month. It’s ok, I basically picked late because I was very indecisive.

I got House of Glass by Sarah Pekkanen and The Lost Story by Meg Shaffer because they both sounded good. Later on, maybe I will get God of the Woods because it sounds good.

I hope you love it! I just subscribed to BOTM a few months ago and I'm loving it. There's only one problem...I am out of room in my house and I refuse to become a hoarder! lol I think my plan is to donate a LOT of them to the high school library at the school where I used to teach.

Thank you! I absolutely loved the first book, The God of the Woods, and I'm afraid I am going to have the same problem! My plan is to only keep the books that I love and would recommend someone else to read and then put the rest in the little free library near me for others to enjoy. I love being able to have a bookshelf of my favorite books at home for my friends and family to look through.

Thank you! The God of the Woods was an awesome first pick and I loved every second of it. Getting a box each month is super exciting and I think this is going to become one of my favorite things to look forward to. I can't wait until I hit "Best Friend" status so I can add more books for less!

I had ordered that one too and loved it as well. I have had good books so far and liked all of them. My only one that I've given 3 stars to so far (I think) was Mercury by Amy Jo Burns . I'm pretty sure all other BOTM books I gave either 4 or 5 stars. One book I would highly suggest if you like historical fiction/mystery/thriller at all is The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon . It's based on a real life woman in the late 1700's who was a midwife. The research to me was incredibly well-done. At the end of the book (if you read it) are author's notes. Be sure to read those but not until after reading the book. I think that's probably my favorite book of the year so far or at least one of my top 3...probably #1.

I'm adding The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon to my TBR right now! Thanks for the suggestion. I love a good murder mystery!

message 39: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 516 comments I really hope you love it too! Trisha also gave it 5 stars, and she's a tough rater (in my humble opinion).
