Who did you prefer Opal to end up with? And why?

I definitely go for Kade. I don't know why, but I REALLY don't like Devlen. It's probably because of all the torturing and everything, but I always wanted her to end up with Kade.
BUT I liked the unexpectedness of how she ended up with Devlen. I would NEVER have expected her to go that way after what he did to her. In that way MVS always surprises us. It's a good change.

I just reread the Glass trilogy for the 3rd time. And I think I can say for the first time I totally agree with Opals decision to Marry Devlen! And I think it's because of his part in Shadow Study.

My first read through. I loved Kade! Weather analogies YAY! And I think that's why I couldn't fully understand Opals feelings for her torturer. I was blindsided. Why would she pick her torturer over a sexy Storm dancer?

During my 2nd read through I noticed Devlen's change. He truly changed when Opal took his magic and with it his addiction away.
And Opal and he had so much in common! They both had to live without their magic. and Opal had felt the addiction too and knew how hard it was to fight it.

Then I read Shadow Study and loved him. Devlen loves Opal unconditional!

And when I read Spy Glass for the 3rd time Kade just annoyed me... He kept pushing Opal to be content to live his life... Not her own or their life, but his life... He was selfish...
And this time through I almost forgot Devlen and blue eyes where the same person.

I do admit that after reading Shadow Study it changed my entire image of Devlen. He did sound like someone who loves Opal a lot, but I guess I just have a soft spot for Kade. But I do agree on the fact that Devlen changed a lot after his addiction to blood magic was gotten over.

I *had* a soft spot for Kade. But now he annoys me! which isnt fair since he's sweet in Storm and Sea Glass. In Spy Glass he just becomes a whiny b#@%

Well, yeah... But I still like him. It's not like I'll go to great leangths to defend him like I would for Valek or Kerrick, but I won't criticize him either. It's really complicated.

Oh I love Kade as a character, but he was too hard for her. Opal needed that pure love that Devlen has for her. With Kade, it was a struggle to get along and understand each other (not that Devlen didn't come with issues)

But Opal and Devlen just FIT.

Yes!!! Yes!!!!! I totally agree with you!!! That's the best way to explain it!!!!

Reading Shadow Study changed my view of Devlen, but the process started in Spy Glass when he and Opal were with the Bloodrose clan (a very creepy and off-putting series of events in my opinion). He showed me then that he would do anything for Opal, even if it meant getting hurt himself.

The more I think about it the more I like Devlen, well reformed Devlen. I do not like evil scary pressure point Devlen. Not one bit! But reformed Devlen with those blue eyes I like. I have a weakness for blue eyes...

You'll are really starting to change my opinion about Devlen. For me, it's like 'first impression is the last impression' and devlens first impression was so bad, I had refused to accept that he can change. But with all the valid points you guys are making, it might actually change my opinion.

Just think of the blue eyes Ileana. Those gorgeously described blue eyes.

You are making it really hard for me to hate Devlen. And FINE!!! I prefer blue eyes over whatever colour eyes Kade has. Uh! I just realized I don't know what colour eyes Kade has...

I wanna say dark? Maybe black... Dunno XD

I just reread shadow study, and have officially decided I like Devlen better. I also think Kade is a selfish person after rereading spy glass. I mean SERIOUSLY!! He just wants Opal to live the life he wants her to live instead of the life SHE wants to lead!! It's so frustrating!
