Ooooh. Let’s get this group going again!!!I’m currently “reading” the audiobook Troop by Nick Cutter. And then I have like 2 or 3 physical books on the go at all times. Ha
I am in the middle of "Fate inked in blood" by Danielle L. Jensen's. I think I am liking it but the main character is starting to annoy me
I just put down Olivie Blakes Masters of Death. I love her fan fiction so much but have not been able to get into her published work and I am not sure why
I'm trying to read "this is how you lose the time war" but the way it's written is hard for my brain to process, lol. I'm also reading "Part of your world" which is a cute, easy read.
Ugh. I hate when you just can’t get deep into a book, and I especially hate when the main character sucks.
Do you guys ever enter the giveaways? I’ve won 3 books so far? So many that I want to win are US only, makes me so sad. Baha
Well I’m lame I didn’t even mention what I was reading lol. Currently I am reading Weird Black Girls by Elwin Cotman it is an anthology of spooky/horror stories featuring black characters. So far the first story was super scary so that’s fun lol. Next up is the Pot Book by Julie Holland which is about the culture, science and politics of cannabis and I just finished The Malevolent Seven which was about a group of 7 wizards of let’s say differing morality scales it started out kind of weird but I really did enjoy it the more I got into it.
I'm reading The God of the Woods by Liz Moore. Such an interesting take on a missing persons story. It's slow going but good.
I have 82% of the way through A Fate Inked in Blood and I think I am giving up. I don't even care enough to find out the end. I use a site called netgalley which is for librarians and reviewers to get early copies of books. So anytime a book I want has a goodreads giveaway it is usually avalible on netgalley.
Now I am debating between starting Temple of Swoon by Jo Segura or The Northwomen by Heather Pringle
I’m sorry you didn’t like A Fate Inked in Blood, Hannah. I have that one on my shelf waiting to be read, so hopefully I like it at least enough to finish. I feel like with that one I’ve seen people really enjoy it or really not enjoy it. Not much of an in between. I just finished up the Crescent City series, so I’m going for some shorter reads for the rest of summer. I just started Funny Story by Emily Henry yesterday.
Yeah the reviews look very all or nothing. I might have liked it better if I was in a different mood. I have had a lot of those lately, right book wrong time
Ugh. To get 82% and not be able to finish. I hate books like that. That’s anything by Grady Hendrix for me. I just rage finish them cause I don’t want to have wasted my money. HahaWhen I works at a bookstore I loved netgalley. I wonder if I could still log in? Ha
I bet you could. You could also just try signing up as a regular person. Or say you are working in a book store.
Oooh. I’m gonna try that… and l will just ignore how dangerous that will be and how my bookshelves have no room left in them. 😳🫣🤣
My old netgalley account didn’t exist but I logged in as a “reviewer” and they didn’t want details so yay!
So, I lied they want to know details to verify you I think. Maybe I’ll start a blog that nobody will know about. Haha
Just finished the Northwomen. It was pretty good and covered a lot of different areas of Viking culture
Almost done reading my original 1976 copy of Audrey Rose I picked up for $4 at a thrift store a few weeks back. So good. I usually zone out when it comes to courtroom parts of books, but this one kept me enthralled. I love a good thrift find. I also got an original copy of The Entity, my fave horror, along side Rosemarys Baby, that I watched as a tween.
