Louise | 3423 comments Hi All welcome to this edition of Wheels. I’m Louise and I along with Fiona and Nistha will be guiding you through the drudgery of life. Whether you’re new to Wheels or a veteran please make sure to read the rules, there is a slight change in this edition.

A couple of housekeeping points, when you drop in make sure to link your Wheel shelf all books completed needs to be on this shelf.

Completions can either be on the tracking sheet or for those not comfortable with using spreadsheets please post here, do not post in both places.

Make sure you check in at least weekly so we know you are still here. Above all have fun

message 14: by Fiona (new)

Fiona | 1041 comments Hi everyone!
I’m Fiona, one of your co-captains for this challenge.
I’ve spent countless hours perfecting the art of enduring the endless office grind, navigating long commutes, and tuning out the not-so-subtle noise from upstairs neighbors. (what a fitting team name, it's the story of my life)
Let’s embrace the monotony together and see how far we can go in making the mundane... slightly less so :)

The tracking spreadsheet should be easy to work with but in case there's any problem, do reach out to me!

message 15: by Maria Jo (new)

Maria Jo | 195 comments Hi team!
I'm Maria, and I'm getting back into reading more with team challenges again after a break. I'm also participating in Turf Wars over at Game Night, so it's going to be fun to find books that work for both challenges.

Boring Wheel Shelf

message 16: by Nistha (new)

Nistha | 346 comments Hi all! I am Nistha, currently living in London and I am one of your co-captains. I had lost my motivation to read after the Book Games haha and I have quite a few books on my radar till the end of the year. Lovely to meet everyone and happy to help if anything.

I really hate chores but i am intrigued is there any which you secrete enjoy but don't generally admit to?

For me it's commuting to office 🙈 Its like the time when I have my audiobook or music on and noone can bother me nor can I do anything else than to walk.

Brooke ♥booklife4life♥ (booklife4life) | 29 comments Are we ok to start 'claiming' letters? I'm an audiobook listener and can tackle 1-2 books a day so quick turnover (besides on weekends, that's family time and i barely get one done then)

message 19: by Fiona (new)

Fiona | 1041 comments You can go ahead and put some books into the sheet! We might shuffle the books around a bit, depending on which letters are needed the most.

message 20: by Louise (last edited Oct 10, 2024 04:25PM) (new)

Louise | 3423 comments Good morning all and welcome, I can see we are nearly all here. Is anyone planning to read The Road Trip the BOM starting on 16th October. It will be a re-read for me, something I wouldn’t usually do but if it nets us points I will be reading it. I’ve put my name down for DQs 🤞 so potentially it will be worth 110 points

I put it on hold at the library but there was a surprising number of people in line ahead of me.

Maddielucy(Patti) | 319 comments Hi Team! I'm Patti and I live in Florida, USA. We survived the hurricane Milton but my town was the one that had all of the really bad tornadoes. My neighborhood is fine, but there were a lot of people really wrecked. I'm coming in here a little late, but I'm ready to read.

My Shelf: Wheel9

Maddielucy(Patti) | 319 comments I did read The Road Trip in 2021 but I think I can re-read it for this challenge. I'll see if I still have it in my Kindle :)

message 39: by Fiona (new)

Fiona | 1041 comments Glad you’re safe, Patti!

message 40: by Louise (new)

Louise | 3423 comments A little over 12 hours to go before we begin. Don’t forget books can’t be started until the countdown reaches Zero. To make it easier for us to check please ensure you add a start date to your books and that they are added to your shelf.

If “reading” an audio please make sure the audio book is shelved and use the “default” (the book that comes up first when you search) for page count.

If you’re reading a book with the following MPGs Childrens / Kids / Poetry / Play / Graphic Novel / Illustrated / Photography / Art (or which have "Illustrated" in the title or an "Illustrator" contributor in the metadata) please make sure to verify that the word count is over 30,000
