Points System
◈ Books less than 100 pages = 0 points
◈ Books between 100 and 1000 pages = 0.1 points/page
◈ Books over 1000 pages = 100 points
(points will be rounded up/down from 0.5 as per standard maths)

Bonus points
To brighten your multi-tasking lives a tiny bit, each book used in the spell-out might also work for bonus points:

- 5 points for books published more than 2 years ago
- 10 points for books published more than 50 years ago
- 20 points for books over 100 years old
- 5 points for books over 400 pages
- 10 points for books over 600 pages
- 20 points for books over 800 pages

Yes, these points stack (published in 1963 & 605pgs = 30 points).

Participating in a current BOM discussion (3 sets min.) = 20 points

Prep:
Get the garden areas ready, building climbing trellises and the like.
Read two sets of 5 books that are consecutive numbers in series (eg 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
- do not need to start at 1
- do need to be in a continuous sequence (i.e. 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 does NOT work)
- do not need to be from the same series
- do not need to be read in order

Tend:
Find books with words in their title (or subtitle) that meet the following.
Germinate: is 6 or more letters long
Plant: is exactly 5 letters
Mulch: contains one of the following digraphs: CH, PH, SH, TH, WH
Weed: contains a double vowel
Water: contains and H and 2 Os
Pest Control: contains two letters consecutive in the alphabet (e.g AB in alphabet)
Feed: contains a double letter
Prune: can be cut to reveal a different word of at least 2 letters (e.g PRUNE - RUNE / AFFAIR - FAIR)

Hi all! I am Nistha, currently living in London and I am one of your co-captains. I had lost my motivation to read after the Book Games haha and I have quite a few books on my radar till the end of the year. Lovely to meet everyone and happy to help if anything.

I really hate chores but i am intrigued is there any which you secrete enjoy but don't generally admit to?

For me it's commuting to office 🙈 Its like the time when I have my audiobook or music on and noone can bother me nor can I do anything else than to walk.

Are we ok to start 'claiming' letters? I'm an audiobook listener and can tackle 1-2 books a day so quick turnover (besides on weekends, that's family time and i barely get one done then)

You can go ahead and put some books into the sheet! We might shuffle the books around a bit, depending on which letters are needed the most.

The book seems to be very cute and up my alley. I am planning on reading it.

I've read The Flat Share by that author and really loved it. I'll see if I can get a hold of it, then I'll read it as well :)

Hi Team! I'm Patti and I live in Florida, USA. We survived the hurricane Milton but my town was the one that had all of the really bad tornadoes. My neighborhood is fine, but there were a lot of people really wrecked. I'm coming in here a little late, but I'm ready to read.

If “reading” an audio please make sure the audio book is shelved and use the “default” (the book that comes up first when you search) for page count.

If you’re reading a book with the following MPGs Childrens / Kids / Poetry / Play / Graphic Novel / Illustrated / Photography / Art (or which have "Illustrated" in the title or an "Illustrator" contributor in the metadata) please make sure to verify that the word count is over 30,000

Good morning everyone. Started my first book late last night, Where Are They Now it’s on kindle so will take me most of the week, although I’ve just spent half hour reading the 1st 9 chapters after falling asleep half way through the 1st chapter.
