I read this two weeks ago and have just been putting off commenting.... Have it on my to-do list to force myself to do it tomorrow. ^_^

Okay good. I’m a little behind but still wanting to see these through. I’m a paper book reading kick so I ordered this one and it should be here soon.

I have the Australian versions (at least I think they are the Australian versions) of some of the books, and I love the covers! Wish I had them for the rest.

It does look like it's just you and me for the last three books though, Felina. What schedule do you want to do the last few on? I'd even be OK with just doing 8&9, and doing the shorts as part of 9...

Those are cool covers. I have the first one and soon I will have this one. The covers will not match. Kinda sucks but I take what I can get, right?

You cool if we schedule the next three to start in May? That will give me a month or so to get caught up. And some time to hit up some used bookstores to see if I can get the last ones cheap like.

May sounds good. I'm always in favor of delaying--I always have stuff to catch up on!! ^_^

Did you want to do the short stories as its own thread, or just include it with the last one? I don't think all the stories are Temeraire ones.

Anyway, thoughts on this one--what I can remember, lol! I think the four or five books after Laurence gets exiled all blend into one to me--I was surprised that this book didn't get as far as I'd thought it would, and we're almost all done! (view spoiler)[I could have sworn we got further than South America, but I guess that's for the next one.

I love the twist in this one--dragons in charge, humans practically currency... It was a blow to see the Tswana allied with Napoleon--but painful knowing that in this case, when it comes to slavery, Laurence's side is not the good guys... Napoleon seems to be making allies everywhere... And Chinese allies--well, they're awfully far away...

It was nice seeing Hammond again, and I lol'd at him getting adopted by the Brazilian dragon. RIP Tom, but well, he was still an iffy character, what with supporting slavery, so I'm not really overly sad.

But what had me laughing the most was Iskerka's antics--and thank goodness Granby finally put his foot down with her! Also interesting, him coming out about his sexuality--and bloody hell, Iskerka STILL tries to marry him off!! Seriously not cool! Can almost thank Napoleon for showing up when he did. (hide spoiler)]

Marie just commented on #5--still working her way through too! With luck she'll be able to join us for the last ones. Putting in requests for #8&9 for May-June 21 now--let me know about if you want a thread for the shorts.
