For me, first laugh was pretty early (pg. 2). It was the title of the second in a trilogy of controversial, philosophical blockbusters. "Some More of God's Greatest Mistakes." I don't know why that one got me.

Second actual laugh was a disappointingly-long 56 pages later:Arthur - "What's so unpleasant about being drunk?"
Ford - "You ask a glass of water."
Pleasantly humorous in tone, if not in actual LOLs, however.
The glass of water line got me! I also found it hilarious that he named the worst poetry in the universe to be that written by Paula Nancy Millstone of Sussex. FYI, I looked it Paula Nancy Millstone. It turns out that this is a made-up name; in the original radio version Adams referred to his friend Paul Neil Milne Johnstone, who was reportedly quite amused by the callout.
