NuttyRachy Hello all, I work in a library in the UK and a customer is trying to find this book she read over 10 years ago (maybe even as far back as 2005?! Sorry her recollection is pretty vague) but she cannot remember the title or the author! She's been asking anyone and everyone if they can help her to no avail so I have come to you, the Reddit community to see if anyone here has any idea, and can finally put her mind at rest (and also possibly source more from this series!)

It was an adult crime novel. The cover was yellow with a silhouette of a helicopter hovering over/ near a bridge. The storyline was following a female detective, (but there may have been a male detective working along with her?)

The first scene was the female detective being involved in some sort of plane crash, but how else this relates to the rest of the story is forgotten. Then she is put onto a missing child/ abduction case where the child has some sort of medical condition, such as diabetes or something, where medication is vital. This obviously puts a time limit on finding the child as their life is at risk without said medication. When they come to the end of the book and the kidnapper and child are eventually found, there is a big showdown on the bridge with the helicopter etc that all comes back to the cover. It is definitely USA based, (possibly New York?) and there is a vague recollection of either James or Patterson as part of a name on the front cover (but she's pretty sure it wasn't by James Patterson himself)

I leave this is your capable hands and I look forward to any responses for potential answers!

Thank you in advance!
