I personally love the way King writes his novels. He has such a unique way with horror, it makes sense why his movies are all such hits. I read "It" a couple years ago, and I'll admit that some of it was a struggle to get through. Because the book is so massive, it can be super overwhelming! But if you pace yourself to a certain amount of pages or chapters per day, I found it to be easier to handle! One of my favorite things about reading King's horror novels, is how they connect so easily with the films. You find details in his writings that are not included into the films, so it makes an interesting way to see what you're missing.
You should give it a try! But if you are debating doing so because of the length of "It," I would maybe consider starting off with one of his smaller novels or novellas.
I read It last month after delayed it for many years, the first book of the year. In my opinion is the best book written by King, different from the others I read. There are so many reading keys, but in this novel I found the great skill of this author to tell a story. Stephen King loves to tell them for every thing, past facts, bloody episodes, people or events. When something or someone is introduced, he tell the story about it and I loved to read them.Yes, it's a "big reading", but it worths. Maybe it will take a month or more, but if you read regularly every day, in the end it will be a great adventure!
And there are a lot of there books to read, for every taste!
