Yipppeee! And I totally agree with you. Everyone likes Peeta because he's an epic person, but his trauma is overshadowed a lot.

And he is underrated for this particular reason: his home life that NOBODY SEEMS TO EVER TALK ABOUT!!!!!!!
Back in book 1, we learn that Peeta is be@ten by his mother when he burns the bread and based on his reaction, it is obvious that this is common in the Mellark household.
More, in book 2, Peeta lives by himself in the victor’s village. Yes, his parents did have the bakery and most likely couldn’t have left, but they also never visit him and he is the only one who visits them. And when he does, he speaks with his father about “the weather”.
“Catching Fire” making Stefania lose her mind yet again, Peeta recognises the sound of the whip, a sound foreign to Katniss.
Another thing in “Catching Fire”, Peeta says that if he dies nobody would need him. We, by now, noticed that he’s not close with his older brothers, his father is distant, and his mother is an @busive. He feels useless, insignificant. And now I’m broken, crying on the floor.
So, Peeta is underrated.
And I’m back (but I’m not accepting friend requests anymore3), so expect more deep dives and daily polls woohoo!!!!
