Humans do not all have the same biological preferences for when to be awake and asleep, even if we all sometimes have to keep the same work and school schedules. Are you naturally a night owl or a morning lark (morning person)? When is your best time of day for focused reading?

Sarah (morr_books) | 116 comments I really love sleeping, so I feel like I am neither a night person or a morning person. However, I do love to read with a cup of coffee in the morning before I start work.

I hate mornings. I like to stay up til 3-4am, and sleep til 10-11am, not a ridiculous number of hours per night, but significantly shifted. I get my best focus for reading between 11pm and 3am. It helps that by then everyone is asleep so there are fewer distractions.

Catsalive | 183 comments I can easily read until 3am but rarely allow myself to do it because of other commitments, so I put myself in the night owl category for inclination.

Lamilla | 868 comments For the last couple of years I transitioned to an early bird :) I noticed it doesn't affect my reading time - I read the best when undisturbed, regardless of the time of the day (or night!)

Definitely a morning person, Im usually asleep by 9pm (winter) or 10pm (summer). My best time to focus on reading is the afternoon however.

Melanie | 59 comments I am definitely a nightowl! I love the early mornings, but rarely get up early enough to enjoy them. It's something I want to work on though. I don't tend to read in the mornings unless I'm awake really early and the weather is bad.
