I think most of you know each other, at least a little, but feel free to introduce yourself again. Please give any relevant information, especially time zone as that helps know when it is best to communicate. 😊

Please select a team leader to help keep track of where your team is in any given task. And as necessary guide discussions for task decisions. Any teammate can report your completions though. I will use the team leader as a point of contact if needed.

Remember, it is the team's responsibility to notify the host (me) if a teammate fails to complete the task in a timely manner or otherwise goes missing! I am not checking all the team threads regularly to notice and may only check when notified a task is complete.

I did notice that, but sometimes I play it on my phone to save time. That's what I did with Stay in Your Lane! for SH. Otherwise I'd never have made it this last month.

You are going to have to tell me how you do that. I tried last month when I had a book not in audio and couldn't figure it out. Double vision made actually reading very difficult! I got it done, painfully and slowly. I made sure not to include any text only books in the next round for M&G!

I think it works on my Kindle Fire too, but I usually just do it on my phone. I call up the Kindle app and when you open the book at the bottom of the page is a forward arrow - just click the arrow and the voice starts. My Samsung phone has additional voices I can select, but I've never bothered to download them.

I use the Alexa app. You can type in the Alexa app "Play TITLE on Kindle app" and it'll play! I also need it to go faster so kept typing faster until I maxed out though.

Doesn't work for arcs/docs though, only books you got through Amazon. Though you can use the screenreader on your phone for that (it's less inflective)

First Task - All Teams!

Task 1 - 0. Read a book celebrating October 1st.

This round begins on October 1st. October 1st has much historical significance. In 1890, Yosemite National Part was established. In 1903, the first game of the modern World Series was played. In 1908, the Ford Model T went on sale. And my personal favorite, in 1971 Walt Disney World, ‘The Most Magical Place on Earth’, opened. But I had to narrow the choices down so… In honor of the first game of the World series being played in 1903, read a book that is MPG Sports. This can be a specific sport such as ‘hockey’ or ‘baseball’, or the generic ‘sports’, but either MUST be MPG. OR In honor of the Walt Disney World opening in 1971, read a book that is MPG Magic or MPG Fantasy. Teams decide between the two options.
