Comments and threads seem to run in spurts. Weeks of good conversation the n drops a few days. At least they come back.
That's why I started recruiting younger members. These old farts wouldn't say shit if they had a mouth full!
I'm in one of those moods today. My wife is having her third eye surgery tomorrow. She's been totally blind in one eye since February from a botched cataract surgery. She hasn't been able to drive or do much of anything since then. I apologize for being rude!
Robert…I’m sorry. I was teasing you. I thought I was being hysterical. I hope they fix the issue with your wife…I can’t imagine.
E, I wish you knew how much joy I take in reading your comments on book reviews. You take the time to show your appreciation to people for leaving reviews!
I know you were teasing me Ruth and it was funny. Things will get better…just another bump in the road and I shouldn’t post when I’m grouchy. But then I could never post because I’m always grouchy! Lol
My husband was told yesterday he needs cataract removal. He’s out it off and they said it isn’t really an option anymore. Don’t want him to do it.
Ruth after what my wife has been through I would never have it done! Everyone has to make their own decision, but they need to be aware of the risk. It’s not a simple procedure as some claim.
Robbie, everything is a risk. Hope the opthomologist wasn't a young kid that just got done practicing on cats and dogs.Ruth,
Sometimes people can get touchy about some subjects. I try to stay out of current politics. I've seen a few verbal brawl s break out over a controversial book and a string of escalating comments heading to defcon 1.
Gr is usually pretty civil. I might not comment on a book review, too controversial.
Ancient history non fiction is my comfort zone.

I'm sorry E!! How are you doing?
Robert wrote: "I'm in one of those moods today. My wife is having her third eye surgery tomorrow. She's been totally blind in one eye since February from a botched cataract surgery. Keep us posted on how she is doing.
Ruth wrote: "My husband was told yesterday he needs cataract removal. He’s out it off and they said it isn’t really an option anymore. Don’t want him to do it."That's what happened with my mom Ruth! She put it off for a long time before there was no choice and she had to do it. My prayers are with your husband.
Oh, thanks, Kellie! It's not been too bad. Been trying to finish a stack of books I've been reading. I try to do a review when I finish a book. It keeps my short term memory working.
Ever since I was a kid I had memory issues. My husband could read something once and he would have it in recall forever.
He used to say, "Maybe what you are reading is useless knowledge. When is the last time someone asked you about some obscure moldy old dead king?"
He was a pip! Always made me laugh.🦢
I'm sorry to hear that everyone has had difficulties. Everyone is different & not all medical precdures work the same on everyone else. I wish it did sometimes but it doesn't. Good luck to everyone.
