Sami Azhari | 4 comments Can anyone recommend horror books to read? I already have Night Watcher by Daphne Woolsoncraft on my list. I am really looking for books with a fall/autumnal vibe, or take place during Halloween, or set in the pacific northwest! Any suggestions are welcome!

john callahan | 4 comments I'm reading Victor Lavalle's "The Devil in Silver."

I want to read a collection of Edith Wharton's ghost stories called "Ghosts."

Since it's October, I want to read some Edgar Allan Poe.

Some HP Lovecraft stories have scared the heck out of me; I recommend his stories as scary ones.

message 8: by Nat (new)

Nat | 145 comments The Troop by Nick Cutter takes place on an island off PEI. Horrifyingly graphic descriptions. More realistic if you’re into that

message 9: by Anita (new)

Anita Kyne | 34 comments Play Nice by Rachel Harrison was really good. Hazelthorn by CG Drews was creepy.

q-bert | 7 comments I read 'Monstrilio' by Gerardo Sámano Córdova this past spring and I honestly can't recommend it enough. I wouldn't say it's too scary (is it filled with murder and body gore? why yes) but it's a great read with likeable but complex characters.

Sarah B | 307 comments I am currently reading Summer of Night Summer of Night by Dan Simmons by Dan Simmons and this book is actually very creepy!! And it's long too! It deals with a supernatural menace that is taking over a small rural town in Illinois. Some gory stuff too. I am very caught up in the plot. This is way better than reading The Exorcist
